Re:Jeffrey Travis[edit]

Dear User:Baxter1989, hello! Thank you for your message on my talk page. The main issue with the article about Jeffrey Travis is that none of the sources in the article meet WP:RS. Most of the citations link to the film maker's personal website or a YouTube video. Do you have articles from major newspapers, for example, The New York Times, that discuss him? Also, out of curiosity, what denomination did Travis' missionary parents belong to? I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 07:37, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Anupam! Thank you for your quick reply :) There are no stories about him in the new york times but I've added a few other news article references. Can you take a look and tell me if they're okay to use? I also removed the part about his parents as I cannot find a reliable source for it. Thank you Baxter1989 (talk) 09:10, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help. The New York Times is just one example of a reliable source, although there are many others. American Thinker and Filmaker Magazine, which you have added, seem to qualify. In addition, if writing this article is a paid project, you are required to state that. Using Template:Paid article on the talk page is a good way to fulfill the requirements listed in the Terms of Use. I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 19:52, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for letting me know :) I've put the template and added the details on the talk page. Is this correct? Talk:Jeffrey Travis Baxter1989 (talk) 07:32, 16 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you have formatted the talk page correctly. If you plan to use Wikipedia in the future, please use this one account you have, per WP:SPA and WP:SOCK. I hope this helps answer your question! All the best, AnupamTalk 02:18, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your help Anupam :) Baxter1989 (talk) 05:05, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 24Hrs City Florist requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. AllyD (talk) 06:43, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rick Yaeger has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has no independent sources whatsoever. Not notable per WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File source problem with File:PhilHeath2014.JPG[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:PhilHeath2014.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. File permission problem with File:PhilHeath2014.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:PhilHeath2014.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:20, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Jaydenyoon.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Orphaned non-free image File:24HrsCityFlorist.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:24HrsCityFlorist.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:47, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:24HrsCityFlorist.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:24HrsCityFlorist.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 14:47, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just a reminder to look after the issue raised in the above post: User_talk:Baxter1989#Paid_editing. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:23, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Per policy, you are obliged to disclose in one of the three ways stated there. In this edit, you did none of those. Please comply. Thank you kindly for your understanding. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:27, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you were paid to create article X, it's just not plausible that you would add links to article X to other articles purely for the sake of improving Wikipedia in your spare time. DS (talk) 20:55, 3 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You restored the link with reference url in this edit with the edit summary "...I will declare when I make paid edits. This wasn't one...."

I disagree. I contend that they were paid edits. Whether you are being paid for results (exposure for the florist) or by billable hours, twice adding that florist link with ref must have been done for the benefit of your client, and not, in my view, in your spare time and for your pleasure. Edits reinstating those of a blocked editor[edit]

Your edit here adds the same paragraphs that were previously put in place in edits such as this by blocked editor User:Newzealand123. Is there a reason for this? AllyD (talk) 18:52, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ally, yes someone sent me the file and asked that I uploaded it to the page as the current one wasn't very good grammar wise. I didn't realize they were blocked and the edit was bad as the version they sent me seemed a lot better. I'm very sorry, I didn't know the whole story.
