A tag has been placed on HeartBreaker, The Original Tribute to Pat Benatar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 10:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia. I'v come across the article you recently created, HeartBreaker, The Original Tribute to Pat Benatar, and have noticed a huge number of things wrong with it that will get it deleted. It has no neutral point of view, its written like its advertising your band/as a fansite, it has many, many spelling errors, and overuses wikilinks. It also has an innapropriate name, and id suggest saving the text as it looks like you've put alot of work into the article and id hate to see your work lost forever.

Open up a word processing client, go to your article, click 'edit this page' at the top, and select all your text. Copy and paste the text, and save it to your word processing client. You can either work on it in the word processing client, or save it for future reference.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me on my talk page, I don't bite! Matt (talk) 06:50, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability does not have anything to do with how recognised the band is, but what purpose a page about the band has on wikipedia?
As for the typos, thats quite okay and should be corrected by someone (or yourself if you feel no one else is going to,) shortly. I was not aware of the article on the iron maidens, as well as some other tribute bands, and your band certainly has accomplished quite alot, however my main objection (which i may or may not have put forward) is that it is not written under a neutral point of view, and quite a few irrelivant or badly worded trivial points of information have been included. As for this being your first article, i have to say im quite astounded on how well you did it, and that deserves alot of recognition. If i can find the time, ill quite possibly help you edit it to make it alot more relevant, and now taking a step back, i do realise that its unfair that your tribute band has been singled out, and that its not fair, however when the speedy deletion tag was put up, the article was much less than it was now, which you might like to include.
I do believe that the speedy deletion tag should be removed, but the rest of the tags stay up until the matter is settled. However, i cannot do this as im not admin and id get myself in a spot of trouble.
As for the editor Anger22, im sure theres a logical reason for his name!
Your article could be renamed HeartBreaker (Tribute Band), ask an sysop
Im sorry for my rude comments before, and im just going to go ahead and strike the whole thing actually.

Do not give up! And good luck to you and your band, ill try copyedit the article soon! You have my support! Matt (talk) 08:18, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to cut'n'paste of AfD post[edit]

I've replied to your rather lengthy cut'n'paste job on my talk page (most of the duplicated material will be removed shortly). Please note the brevity of this post and read my userpage as - whether or not you're a member of the group - you have been actually proving my point lately. If you keep fighting this way, I guarantee that the article will be deleted. I'd advise a much different tactic (and another cut'n'paste to my talk page will be returned to sender per the top of that page). Best of luck, B.Wind (talk) 21:48, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to hear the page was deleted, i felt that our edits might have saved it but i guess not. You might want to appeal, but i think the deleting user felt pretty strongly. You guys have alot to be proud of though! Don't give up! Best of luck, Matt (talk) 04:13, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Almost no one here is employed by Wikipedia, and no one has any more authority over anyone else (although admin have the power to delete articles, among various things.) The person whom deleted your article was more that likely mis-informed of the current situation, not realising that the article had been substantially updated. However, the deletion was in some ways fair, but i would personally have recommended that the article just be re-written by someone of experience. I believe you we're handled pretty unfairly, as this was your first article, and your first entry upon Wikipeida, and therefore could not contest a AfD as well as the other editors could support it. Id consider writing to User:Wizardman(The person whom deleted the article) regarding this, and why you feel it should be recreated. Also, reference (and possibly contact) User:C.Fred as he voted Keep. Had i known there was an active AfD discussion, i most certainly would have voted Keep. There are many tribute bands on this site, and i still feel that you have been singled out by some grumpy editors biting the newbies.
As for the notability issue, i think they're just trying to say that this article would not attract significant intrest from the general community, and therefore should not be included. However, this policy is usually a last ditch effort when no other policy applies, but it is still valid.
And certainly, i am always here for help! Just post a message on my talk page, and ill reply within a day usually! Best of luck, and i hope to hear from you soon! (Don't take it as an insult that the article was deleted, because it most certainly is notable.) Matt (talk) 07:46, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
