Hello, Bennelongia, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Your username[edit]

I realize your username happens to be the exact same name as that of your first article, which triggered an edit filer (that notice that you got that your edit might not conform to Wikipedia standards). If you'd like to change your username, I'd suggest going to WP:CHU.I assume that you aren't an ostracod crustacean trying to write articles slanted towards you on Wikipedia. If so, please stop or you will blocked.Buggie111 (talk) 03:46, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi buggie, I changed my signature and requested a change to my username. Cheers

I have just seen this discussion, and I think it's an overreaction. I see no problem with this username at all; my username is also a genus of slime mould. If the only problem is an edit filter being inappropriately flagged once, then there is no problem. The user name does not breach the policy on user names, and you should not feel obliged to change it, although you may if you wish, of course. --Stemonitis (talk) 08:12, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I might add that Bennelongia is a very good first article for a new Wikipedian (and better than most by established editors), and I can guarantee that it won't be deleted. Please keep up the good work. --Stemonitis (talk) 08:19, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Stemonitis , now I wish I'd googled your name, it's awesome! Thanks for the advice/support :). I made the Bennelongia page based on templates from a few other decent pages. I also began to get the hang of it by creating the series of pages linking Ostracoda through to Bennelongia. I will stick to my current username, cheers. michaelomorph (talk) 08:30, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Overreaction? I was trying to add a humorous tone to my message (note the WP:TROUT) link and sincerely thought this user had accidentally put in his first article title as his username. Good luck Bennelogia, and see me if you need any help. Buggie111 (talk) 20:23, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if I should comment or not here (do let me know if I am not allowed to do it), but I never knew that having a user name as a species name is in violation of Wikipedia guideliness, or I didn't got the joke?--Mishae (talk) 22:06, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Buggie111, sorry mate, I haven't read all the rules so I automatically thought I was in the wrong... and totally missed the WP:TROUT ref. Catchya round :) michaelomorph (talk) 01:59, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Mishae, all good, looks like both of us didn't get the joke :) michaelomorph (talk) 01:59, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
