Catchup[edit]

Hi Bennydigital. Just thought I'd leave you a message here to say how impressed I am with your progress and looking at your recent contributions, I can see you are going to be an excellent editor - who will be out of adoption very soon WormTT 10:38, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers! I am very grateful for all the help you've given me, it's been invaluable. I know there must be plenty of new guys who need a hand more than I by now, but if I can be cheeky, it's always good to get your feedback on things I can improve on, even after I take the training wheels off. I'm thinking of trying to do a more detailed article, and trying for GA or similar when time allows, and any advice on that would be great!

As ever, thanks for all of your help! Bennydigital (talk) 09:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Might as well finish the adoption school yet, I could do with some feedback on it. And of course, I will always be your wiki-colleague and if you are ever in need of advice feel free to come to me. The only thing that's going to be different is that you'll have a couple of nice barnstars and I won't be snooping through your contributions each week. :) WormTT 09:25, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As for good articles, they're not as hard as you might think, I've just managed my 7th. All you need to do is get the article as well written as you can, cited with reliable sources. Make sure you're not missing anything from the topic. Then put it up for review. The reviewer will check the WP:GA?, and let you know if there's anything they feels is missing. As long as you address their concerns, it will be passed :) am happy to do a once over before you put your first in for WP:GAN if you like? WormTT 09:29, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Adoptee Graduation Barnstar
Bennydigital, I do not believe there is anything more I can teach you. You have the makings of an exceptional editor - stay confident in your abilities. As I've said, you are always welcome to come back for help or advanced courses, but display this barnstar with pride safe in the knowledge that you will be able to tackle whatever the future brings. Did you know...[edit]

... you're doing a great job at creating articles? If you're new articles are well referenced and over 1500 characters (I.E. over a 2 paragraphs ish) long, you can list them at Did you know. Your new article will appear on the front page, and you'll get credit for it... It's not a bad system if you fancy giving it a go. WormTT · (talk) 08:48, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am thinking of doing one shortly. I've headed off on an attempt to improve the coverage of one of my favourite comics, so am snowed with sales figures and tiny snippets of articles that I'm trying to turn into something worthwhile at the moment! So the only 'new' things I've got done are a template and a list!
I'm thinking of writing a new article for the band/album Everybody was in the French Resistance...NOW! soon, which could make it for that!
Good to hear from you anyway! How are the new adoptees? Oh, and the expanded template unit seems much easier to learn. Bennydigital (talk) 09:07, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm great, thanks for asking! I've gone an over stretched myself, very stupidily, and I've realised I haven't written an article in ages! so I thought I'd have a go at Cornish fairings, which looks better, but clearly isn't going to make it to good status... So I thought I might have a go at Blackpool's piers next. Otherwise, I was impersonated User:Worm that Turned 1 for the first time last night... Dead chuffed with that :D As for the new adoptees, things are going ok. They're mostly busy with other things, so there's not a lot for me to do. How are things with you?
Good idea at aiming for DYK from scratch, I'm sure you'll do a great job of it. If you look at the page view stats for new articles (go to history, page view statistics) you'll see a DYK will take your average 5-10 views per day to over 2-3k on the day it goes on the front page, which can be very statisfying.
Mind you don't get too snowed under! WormTT · (talk) 09:26, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Put one up there now. Fingers crossed! Benny Digital Speak Your Brains 08:34, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Jolly well done! Good luck with it :D WormTT · (talk) 08:38, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers! I saw Cornish fairings up there the other day, so likewise. Now back on to Hellblazer, which appears to be running my life at the moment... Got it up to 'B', now comes the hard research and polish. What are you working on at the moment? Benny Digital Speak Your Brains 13:30, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't really made a start on it yet, but I've fixed my sights on North pier, Blackpool, which I intend to get up to good status. But I've suddenly become in demand for adoption, with 2-3 new adoptees in the past 2 days. No idea when I'm going to manage to get the pier article done, but I'm still in the WP:WIKICUP by the skin of my teeth, so perhaps next month... Let me know when you're ready for good on Hellblazer if you like, and I'll have a quick review. WormTT · (talk) 13:54, 20 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did you see that this got over 5000 views so you can add it to dykstats? Well done on the other dyk WormTT · (talk) 06:14, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
