Hi Brian,

My name is Jarrod and I'm currently working on a project called WiKUpedia, with the goal of providing the one-stop shop for all things KU. We've had a tremendous response from the community since we went live on Sunday but we need help organizing and improving the wiki. We decided to reach out to experienced Wikipedia editors working on the WikiProject: Kansas. You can read a little more about our project in a news story in the Lawrence Journal World I saw you are a Baker person, but if you could spare a moment or two helping your Wikipedian loving brethren at KU, we'd be much obliged.

Please feel free to take a look around our project and if this sounds like something that interests you, please respond on my talk page or by email. Thank you so much in advance. Jarrodm (talk) 04:04, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Barber School.jpg

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Barber School.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 02:59, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for Kansas NHL pic

Hi. Thanks so much for, first, taking the your nice pic of Lecompton Constitution Hall, and recently, adding it to the new Constitution Hall (Lecompton, Kansas) article! I wonder if you could take a look at List of National Historic Landmarks in Kansas (or List of NHLs in KS ) and see if there are any other NHL sites that you have a pic for, or could take one for.

It happens i and others in wp:NRHP are striving to develop and clean up the Kansas list, as well as all other state NHL lists, by 4th of July, but your participation before or after then will be equally appreciated!

Again, thanks for the pic! doncram (talk) 19:42, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Achning House.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Achning House.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 21:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Modern BL.gif

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Modern BL.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:24, 31 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NanohaA'sYuriTalk, My master 18:24, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Constitution Hall

When I first saw that you'd replaced the Constitution Hall picture with a new one, I couldn't imagine why: after all, the old one had better color, makes a better-looking thumbnail, etc. Of course, once I looked at the full-size version, I understood why you put in the new one :-) Let me ask, however, that you do not seek the deletion of the old picture: it still makes a better thumbnail. Orphaned non-free image (Image:BLLogo.gif)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:BLLogo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 20:40, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Stull Intersection.JPG

Thanks for uploading File:Stull Intersection.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 00:05, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

File:Miller House.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Miller House Kansas.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. Fair use rationale for File:Dave's World.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Dave's World.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 15:17, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
