File permission problem with File:The All-American Rejects, 2012.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The All-American Rejects, 2012.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:10, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Avril Lavigne (Album).jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Avril Lavigne (Album).jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 19:33, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wizards vs Aliens ‎[edit]

Hi Bigwhofan! unfortunately, I've had to remove the episode summaries you added to Wizards vs Aliens. They were identical to those found on the BBC site, and the BBC summaries are protected by copyright. Unfortunately, Wikipedia's acceptance of fair use is very limited, and a free use alternative is insisted on by policy where possible. As it is always possible for use to write our own episode summaries, that is considered to be the only way to approach them. On the plus side, I tend to find that the episode summaries offered by the broadcasters are more teasers than summaries, so the need to rewrite them often makes for a better article. :) - Bilby (talk) 22:32, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As far as I can tell, the article is a copy-paste of Hero Factory and thus qualifies for speedy deletion. Given that the topic seems like it may be notable and the article is still quite new, I have not yet tagged it for speedy deletion, but someone else is likely to do so. Immortals[edit]

Hello Bigwhofan, thanks for all your edits on the Fall Out Boy pages, they are always very constructive and useful. I have a discussion point with "Immortals" in the Singles section of the Discography page. I made the album column "Big Hero 6 Soundtrack & American Beauty/American Psycho" because of the BH6 single release and added the AB/AP part because peaked in the US and UK the week after the album release. I think that gives the AB/AP inclusion some merit, although you recently removed it. What do you think? Noreplyhaha (talk) 11:38, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aliens Among Us[edit]

Aliens Among Us is unlike anything Big Finish has produced before.

They're billing it as the fifth season. 3 seperate boxsets, 12 CDs total. Each CD will be 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 etc.

So a list compiling it as a full season rather than 3 seperate entries works.

We need to formulate some method in which we can define it as what it is as a whole.

Should the header be Torchwood - Series 5 instead of Aliens Among Us?

With each section of the table being split as Aliens Among Us 1 so forth to define what is contained within each boxset?

Thank you! --R2Mar) (talk) 00:22, 03 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Changes to Zebrahead subpages[edit]

Information icon Hello. Some of your recent changes, such as the one you made to Zebrahead's album pages, are considered disrupted and do not fit Wikipedia's guidelines of being based upon reliable sources. If you would like to make these changes you will have to prove a reliable source or reach consensus. Issan Sumisu (talk) 13:43, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bye Bye Babylon, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Egyptian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:05, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:BionicleMaskofLightOSS.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Bionicle: Mask of Light#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:17, 26 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Sheldybett. Your recent edit to the page Doctor Who (series 11) appears to have added incorrect information, so it has been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sheldybett (talk) 10:46, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Witchfinders[edit]

What were these edits?[1][2] The first edit, you changed "The Witchfinders" to "The Witch Finders" (the incorrect title), then a minute later, reverted the title back with the summary "Now someone corrects the title." Is there a reasonable explanation for these edits? Or were you deliberately introducing factual errors into the article with the first edit, so that you could be the one to publicly "fix" them with your second edit? -- AlexTW 02:22, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No. Before my edit it was spelt "The Witchfinders" under episodes, and "The Witch Finders" under Filming. I simply edited the latter to match with the former. Then I noticed someone else edited the latter so I thought the former (in Episodes) was incorrect at the time.

Your cut and paste page move has been reversed[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Niels Brinck a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Brinck. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:03, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor Who templates[edit]

Hey. Saw you've been merging the templates for Doctor Who stories (e.g. Daleks, Cybermen, etc). If you want to provide me with a list of the old templates that should be replaced with your new, updated merged templates, I can do that quickly through AWB (an automatic editor). Let me know. -- /Alex/21 11:44, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks! That list of old templates would include:[edit]

TO CYBERMAN STORIES:

TO DALEK STORIES:

TO MASTER STORIES:

TO UNIT STORIES

I think that's it for now. Many thanks!

 All done! -- /Alex/21 01:50, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again! I expect we'll be replacing {{First Doctor audios}} with {{First Doctor stories}}, and the same for the other related Doctor-story templates? Let me know when you're ready to do so, and I can do it through AWB again. These templates will also need to be added to every article that's included in the navbox, per WP:BIDI, another task I can do through the AWB run.
Also see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who#Doctor stories templates, where these templates were being discussed but now there's further support for them. -- /Alex/21 00:30, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I've completed templates for all Doctors (1-13). So feel free to replace/redirect the following templates to the updated ones:

Many thanks!
