I'm a new user to the site and I was just trying to upload all of the information I have for my band. I was following another band's wiki when I edited but I didn't really know what I was doing.

I by no intentions meant to cause trouble. So you can't make multiple edits to your own created page?

Is there a way to test the page without uploading it directly to the site?

You can edit a page you created, but removing deletion notices from them (or any other page) is not allowed. You can use the "Show preview" button to see how your text looks like, without submitting it for everyone to see. Kimchi.sg (talk) 10:37, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So from what I understand, someone other than myself can write the article and it will deserve merit and not being deleted? But what proof would there need to be to prove that it is in fact another person(s)? Also, by referencing I cannot use blogs? Does it have to be an interview? The valid references for a band would have to be reputable sources such as, reputable newspapers (many have online websites), news websites(cnn, MSNBC, etc), magazines, reputable books, links to billboard chart listings. Blogs, Internet forums, Myspace, etc are all not valid sources for Wikipedia. Basically, if your band is not on one of the major charts and has not been covered by a reputable mainstream media source, your band would probably not meet Wikipedia's standard for notability.Wacko Jack O 22:17, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Shed loose the armor[edit]

A tag has been placed on Shed loose the armor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Actually, you really shouldn't be creating articles for your own band on Wikipedia. If it is notable enough, someone else will create an article. Also, your article needs to have valid references(not myspace, blogs, forums). For edits tests, you can use The Sandbox (which is a place to make test edits/articles. If your article is deleted, you can also request that an administrator temporarily "userfy" it for you(add it to a subpage of your userpage outside of the article namespace)Wacko Jack O 10:38, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
