Hittitologist[edit]

If you know what to do with the Hittitologist category, please free make a list here. The closest example I can think of is Egyptologist. I generally am familiar with only two Hittitologist in the English publications--Trevor R. Bryce and Gary Beckman--the latter from the University of Michigan. There are more Germans in this field such as Hans Guterbock but the study of Hittitology is mostly dominated by German and Turkish scholars who don't write in English. However, there is also a respected new Hittitiologist, J. Miller from Mainz, Germany. Click on 'View PDF Article' to access his English article and save it ASAP on your computer as it deals with the identity of Niphururiya in the Hittite correspondence--was it really Tutankhamun or Akhenaten? [1] Its currently free of charge (for now) The most respected publication on Hittitology is ICH: [2] but this is not a regular serial like JNES or JEA and is fairly new sadly. Most Hittite studies are NOT in English (unlike Miller's new paper) which is a problem for Wikipedia.

Do they have articles here? I'd need several Wikipedia articles to put into a category, because a category of one article wouldn't make sense. Otherwise, you can just create the page yourself at Category:Hittitologists, and link the category to [[Category:Hittites]]. I'm sorry to say this but you should really honour your 2 week ban if you are Sumerophile...to calm yourself down. I'd prefer an experienced Admin to see how Hayasa can be modified. The 17 references to its supposed Armenian origins is far too long and this paragraph's location right at the top of the Hayasa article totally detracts from the thrust of the article on the KNOWN history of Hayasa-Azzi. What happened to me was first I was blocked for reverting nationalist IP-edits, and then I was inexplicably put on an Armenia-Azerbaijan arbitration list (even ANE articles don't come anywhere near that controversy). There isn't any recourse - I assume it would make the involved administrators lose face to remove somebody who should never have been placed on it in the first place. And since our nationalist editors make it nice and easy for admistrators when they are not acting up, and they will act up when they don't like something, I don't expect my account will ever be restored - there will always be a ruse, like those two, to keep it locked.

I should point out also that Til Eulenspeigel, as well as Eupator, and the others in between, reverted edits that administrators had made on the Hayasa article, and the reversions you and I have been making should have been made by administrators stepping in and putting a stop to it.

I won't say 'you won't find helpful administrators in the ANE' because that would be used as an excuse for adminstrators avoiding the hassle of dealing with this.
