March 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm JMHamo. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rick Daniels have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Speedy deletion nomination of Rick Daniels[edit]

Hello Bminnis1014,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Rick Daniels for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

SamHolt6 (talk) 20:49, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have contested this deletion.

November 2018[edit]

Conflict of interest and paid editing[edit]

Information icon Hello, Bminnis1014. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:08, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I did disclose the employer, this is not a paid edit, there is no conflict of interest. there is no external relationship. i just edit radio station and articles. Rick Daniels is a very well known personality nationally. Could you please restore the page, so I can work on it and correct the issues? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bminnis1014 (talkcontribs)

  • I don't see where you disclosed the employer, could you please provide me with a link?--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:16, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you mean Rick's employer? or me?

Ricks employerlinks: http://cumulusmedia.com http://westwoodone.com http://kizn.com/rick

my employer is https://www.cmaworld.com/ I handle media relations for the CMA Awards

  • I was asking about your comment "I did disclose the employer". Also, if you have no external relationship with Daniels how do you own the copyright to this image?--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:30, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That image has been used to promote Rick as a CMA Award Broadcast nominee in the past. Not sure it is even copyrighted. Does it have to be to use it? he uses it as a PR photo, its in our database — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bminnis1014 (talkcontribs)

  • The image has to be free or under a Wikipedia compatible license to be used. You used a template claiming to be the copyright holder but it is the photographer who retains the copyright so it will need to be deleted unless the photographer provides the required permissions. You can read about our copyright policies here. Could you please sign your posts with four tildes (like this: ~~~~). This will automatically include your signature to your posts. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, we DO NOT represent radio personalities, or do PR for them personally. We just do CMA relayted PR. I though you meant, did I disclose Rick's employer. And in the article, I did. There is no way to correct the issues for the article have it undeleted?Bminnis1014 (talk) 21:42, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The same issues that were brought up in the first deletion discussion still apply. There is no evidence that Daniels meets the notability criteria for inclusion. All of the sources are either brief passing mentions, media releases, or social networking sites, none of which meet the wide in-depth coverage in independent sources expected. All the claims of notability come from Daniels' own PR machine. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:54, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I didn't realize I posted the picture as the copyright holder. It is a free use photo, If it was provided to us, we can use it. again, anyway we could restore the article? And you could guide me on corrections? Bminnis1014 (talk) 21:45, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unless there is future significant coverage in independent sources or notable industry awards, I don't see the article surviving another deletion discussion. Would you consider working on one of the articles highlighted at Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles? --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What PR machine? I wasn't done citing. you deleted it before I could finish! Bminnis1014 (talk) 21:59, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • All of the sources for "most followed media personality in the State of Idaho" were from primary sources such as his social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram). Per WP:BLPSELFPUB such sources cannot be used to make self-serving claims.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so is this something I could correct? I'm still learning all of this. Cut me some slack and give me a chance to do this correctly. So I don't mess up any future articles. Please undelete and let me fix what needs to be fixed. I have plenty of independent national publications to cite. just need more time to edit the article. he also has won multiple CMA, ACM and Marconi awards, his stature is pretty impressive. I hadn't written an extensive article, because the advice I saw was to start off with just a few sentences, and add more later on. Bminnis1014 (talk) 22:14, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I can't undelete it; community consensus determined unanimously at the deletion discussion that the article does not currently meet Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I'm just the administrator carrying out that consensus through the deletion of the article. The only thing I could feasibly do would be to move the article to your userspace and you would need to follow the Articles for Creation process to possibly have it submitted in the future.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:15, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, please move it, I'll work on it Bminnis1014 (talk) 22:17, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You can find it at User:Bminnis1014/Rick Daniels.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:22, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Article moved to draft[edit]

Hello Bminnis1014. I recently moved an article you created (Rick Daniels) to the draftspace at Draft:Rick Daniels. I have done this as the article was created and edited for pay, and as such must comply with WP:COI, WP:PAID and not be directly created in the mainspace; rather, it should be submitted to WP:AFC. Futhermore, the article seems to not be ready for the mainspace as it has multiple issues, namely an overciting of primary sources and referencing issues.--SamHolt6 (talk) 03:45, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Rick Daniels[edit]

Hello, Bminnis1014. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rick Daniels".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CptViraj (📧) 16:48, 13 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
