May 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm ScottishFinnishRadish. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Amber Heard, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:37, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Had trouble adding source... IMDB and another page https://latesthunts.com/amber-read-was-after-nominated-for-the-razzie-award-for-worst-actress-for-1-of-her-flicks/
Never had this difficulty before- the page refused the source Boing55 (talk) 00:50, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
IMDb is user generated, so it's not a reliable source. To show that this is WP:DUE for inclusion in a WP:BLP you'd have to show that it is covered in high quality secondary sources, ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 00:55, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I went to the London Fields wikipedia page and used the same reference. So maybe you need to edit that reference?
Sorry, I am trying to do this correctly. Boing55 (talk) 09:07, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your tone[edit]

Hello, Boing55. I do not necessarily disagree with the content of your edits, but your tone in your edit summaries and comments is unnecessarily strong. You seem to have very strong feelings about Meghan Markle, but Wikipedia is not the place to WP:RIGHTGREATWRONGS. In any case, I believe you would be more effective if you kept your focus on the content of the article and not on perceived ulterior motives. Not everyone who edits this page is a publicist. WP:Casting aspersions on other editors, as you did here, by implying that a very benign sentence was added by a publicist is demeaning to the editor who just recently added that content to the article.

In addition, Alanscottwalker is correct--our BLP policy applies to talk pages. Please do not attack living individuals on talk pages by calling them "liars" or "plagiarizers", as you did here. Thank you. Aoi (青い) (talk) 00:40, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Aoi,
I don't agree that is a benign sentence. It is unnecessary. A reader can click on Prince Harry's name and go to that page for further details. There is a tendency on pages such as this to do puffery. Everything a person has done in their life does not need to be reported. The Duchess's PR team, Sunshine Sachs, has been accused of altering wikipedia pages of their clients. Please see https://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/23/business/media/a-pr-firm-alters-the-wiki-reality-of-its-star-clients.html
As for plagiarism or lying, there have been repeated episodes - shall I give you the list? It has been widely reported even by CNN. So, maybe an assertion by the Duchess of Sussex needs to be confirmed. I don't like lies, so maybe my tone was harsh. Shall we call them mis-statements instead? Please advise me what is the correct term to use.
The page seems to be doing better now.
Thank you for your comments. Boing55 (talk) 00:55, 13 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
