On https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaque_reduction_neutralization_test I left an edit with a question about further edits. Is there any way to attract the attention of other page editors so that they may answer the question and/or make edits related to the question?

Wikiscienceguru (talk) 16:11, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
Hey Wikiscienceguru - I'd leave a note on the talk page at Talk:Plaque reduction neutralization test you can also ping any other editor (maybe a frequent editor of the page you're trying to edit) using the templates here: Template:Reply to. CaffeinAddict (talk) 16:18, 10 March 2021 (UTC)

Help wanted for COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa article

Hi there, I put comments for the COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa's talk page. The article will include the map of Ottawa with confirmed cases, active cases, recoveries and death by neighbourhood or ward on the city map of Ottawa. Also, we are looking to add notable events based in Ottawa already been cancelled from last year. In addition, we need to add more information on the nearby city of Gatineau, Quebec on confirmed cases, active cases recoveries and deaths in the city of Gatineau, Quebec in this Ottawa related article. I already put my comments at the COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa's talk page. Comments are welcome and I hope COVID-19 related article in Ottawa to make this an expanded article. Tell your fellow editors to make the COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa an expanded article. Two ways you can reply either reply me on your own talk page, reply me at my talk page or reply your comments at the COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa's talk page. I will be happy for your reply. I thank you and have a great day. Steam5 (talk) 07:44, 14 March 2021 (UTC)

Cancellation of Gatineau content

Hi, well I read your response at the Ottawa's talk page and it looks like the proposal to add Gatineau content is cancelled. Go to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ottawa's talk page on my response for the cancellation of Gatineau content. In addition, there is my second proposal to add notable events based in Ottawa was already cancelled from last year including the cancellation of the 2020 Ottawa Redblacks season for the entire CFL season is already cancelled, as part of notable events based in Ottawa to be cancelled from last year. Thanks. Steam5 (talk) 06:33, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited We Are (Jon Batiste album), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Nate Smith. Incorrect passport map!

Hi CaffeinAddict. This is about your map at File:Canada provinces and territories with Vaccine Passports.png and how it is incorrect. Please change Alberta to yellow, as it has the Restrictions Exemption Program and not a broad-brush passport. Basically, the "In-scope operators" can force a passport in order to remove some restrictions, such as a 33% limit at movie theatres or a ban on indoor dining. If they do not force the passport, the restrictions remain. A by-law in Calgary forces the passport and program regardless, but other cities (including Edmonton) do not force it.

Please update your map to paint Alberta in yellow. It is wrong to paint it in blue, just like every other province, because Alberta's policy differs greatly from every other province. As you may know, I disagree with the "vaccine passport" system. Why? Pfizer paid over US$3 billion in medical negligence fines, Moderna is deemed a health risk for ages 18 to 24 in Ontario, and the AstraZeneca debacle (first deployed in mid-March, then constantly changing the advised age group, then almost entirely withdrawing AZ by mid-May for health risks) are all factors that do not instill confidence. I could go on, but please know that there are many valid reasons to oppose the forced use of passports. Nevertheless, I try to keep my edits as objective as possible. Thank you. --LABcrabs (talk) 05:48, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm glad you've pointed out your POV so that I can make sure you're not injecting your bullshit onto wikipedia. CaffeinAddict (talk) 17:17, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
To be clear you are not the mayor or president of Wikipedia. It is you who are being disruptive with your map. Either post an accurate map, which I will update for you, or knock it off. Being for or against the passport is distinct from being for or against the medical procedures. Do you really think that coercing individuals and making inaccurate edits is the best way to support these procedures? --LABcrabs (talk) 17:42, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
I won't be responding to you anymore. I do not WP:OWN any articles, but I am responsible for reverting any POV pushing and disruption that I see. Keep it up and I will make your behaviour known to administrators. CaffeinAddict (talk) 17:49, 4 October 2021 (UTC)

The Closer

I notice you uploaded the poster image for The Closer File:Dave_Chappelle_The_Closer_Poster.jpg but it doesn't quite fit the Infobox in the article.

The image you uploaded seems to be 190 x 281 pixels. Looking at other articles the Infobox image seems to normally be 220 pixels wide.

Any chance you might upload a higher resolution version? (I looked at the IMDB page and looked at the html source and found the link to much bigger 1000px pixel version of the image.)

If you could take the 1000px version and scale it to 220 pixels it will probably look better, and fit the Infobox. (If you really want to mess around you might take the 1000x1401 image and crop 1 pixel off to make it 1000x1400 then and scale it down to 200x280 and see if that looks better. It wont fully fill the Infobox either but the image scaling might leave the image looking a little better.)

Anyway just a suggestion, it is entirely up to you. -- 109.77.204.25 (talk) 05:11, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

109.77.204.25 - A non-free image is only allowed if it's low res. CaffeinAddict (talk) 05:15, 21 October 2021 (UTC)
220 or even 250 pixels would still be low resolution. -- 109.77.204.25 (talk) 05:32, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions alert

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in COVID-19, broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

"Editorializing"

My edit to The Closer (2021 film) was not "editorializing". The fact is that there is no evidence for the assertion. There's plenty of pages where unsubstantiated statements in the synopsis of a speech are pointed out. CondenserCoil 23:22, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

It shouldn't be in the synopsis though. The synopsis is just a summary of what was said in the comedy special. Remember the part where this is a comedy special? CaffeinAddict (talk) 23:50, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
It's presented in the page as fact. Not to mention that if you actually watched the special that part clearly wasn't a joke. CondenserCoil 15:24, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

A friendly reminder

Hi CaffeinAddict! I hope you're doing well and that your day has been pleasant. I just wanted to leave you a message in order to talk to you about some concerns that I have regarding some of your recent comments and responses toward other editors in some discussions.

For example, the comment you made here, here, and here. These comments are uncivil, and they directly conflict with one of Wikipedia's founding principle's. It's a real bummer to see a discussion turn into something like this, and I just don't want to see you get blocked or finding yourself in hot water with the community because of how you've recently behaved toward others here.

I just want to quietly and informally give you a nudge on the shoulder about Wikipedia's civility policy so that you can correct this behavior before it leads you into any trouble. If you need help with anything or have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'll be more than happy to help you with anything that you need. I wish you well, and I hope that you'll take this as an opportunity to self-evaluate how you respond and communicate with others, and that you'll do what you need to do in order to keep calm, remain civil, and keep discussions positive and focused toward our primary goal of building an encyclopedia.

Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I hope you have a great rest of your day. ––FormalDude talk 06:09, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

FormalDude thank you for your message - I've dealt with all sorts of unsavoury editors all over wikipedia and I have never been talked to for this kind of behaviour before. Please explain to me how it is uncivil to point out the editor in question has had previous formal topic bans and an entire ANI section on them? That's a matter of public record. As for the other comments I don't care about striking them. CaffeinAddict (talk) 06:17, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
That alone was not necessarily uncivil, but comparing their current comments to that and saying "I'm not surprised", plus calling them "bud", made for a comment that comes pretty close to casting aspersions.
Thank you for striking your comments, I think that was a wise decision. ––FormalDude talk 06:31, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Also, you're probably aware, but here is a formal notice that the article is under discretionary sanctions.

FormalDude thank you again for your message. My aim is simply to improve the article in a WP:NPOV way. I have however decided to remove the page from my watchlist to stay WP:COOL. CaffeinAddict (talk) 06:43, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
Happy to message with you anytime! I can tell that is your aim, and that your intentions are all good faith. Smart to take it off your watchlist (sometimes those things are quite hard to ignore). Anyways, I think this will dispute will clear up once it gets more attention from other editors. All the best. ––FormalDude talk 06:49, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Call Her Daddy

Hi CaffeinAddict, I appreciate your interest in this topic and your feedback. However, I don't agree that addressing the widespread claims of misogyny against the podcast should be characterized as "conjecture." There are multiple other controversies surrounding the show which other editors have added to the page, and it seems that you have allowed those sections to stay put, with the exception of the section I wrote and another referencing the show's problematic messaging on sexuality. I would challenge you to reflect on your assumptions and why you feel that discussing recurring criticisms of misogyny is excessive or biased. Hopefully this will be a productive learning experience for us both. N0906 (talk) 01:26, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. The sources you have linked to if I remember correctly are mainly opinion blogs but I’d have to take a look again. Maybe it would be worthwhile researching WP:RS and notability. To be frank adding every controversy a podcast/show etc has Willy nilly unless there’s extensive press coverage is not the point of the Wikipedia project. Call Her Daddy is a sex/lifestyle podcast with a few notable outside issues (like the salary dispute). Remember too that there is WP:NPOV and Wikipedia is not to be used to prove a WP:POINT. Discretionary sanctions alert - gender and sexuality

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

Just letting you know about the stricter rules for gender and sexuality related topics on Wikipedia. Don't worry, it's just a standard notice that has to be given and you've not done anything wrong. Sideswipe9th (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 19:41, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Sideswipe9th Were you using another account or editing wikipedia before August 2021? CaffeinAddict (talk) 20:00, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Unless I've developed amnesia, no. I'm curious why you ask? But otherwise you're welcome to make an WP:SPI case if you suspect that is the case. Sideswipe9th (talk) 20:04, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Sideswipe9th I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Just wondering why a new editor would bother going around posting Discretionary sanctions alerts. CaffeinAddict (talk) 20:07, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
I'm fairly active in the topic area, was served the notice myself when I became active, and I can't see anything against doing it apart from the rules on repeat notifications within a 6/12 month period. Also I saw a discussion on another editor's talk page last night about potentially selective use of the notifications. So I was just helping that editor out by catching any editors they had missed. Sideswipe9th (talk) 20:13, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Also a little bit defensive because an IP editor made an accusation of this on my own talk page last night. Easier to just direct to the appropriate noticeboard than get into a flamewar about such things. Sideswipe9th (talk) 20:14, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Sideswipe9th Remember to stay cool. Good luck with your editing. CaffeinAddict (talk) 20:16, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

NO! Stop lying to the general public. What is Mis-information? Who determines Misinformation? Can you define what apparent misinformation she has shared? You have also stated that the Wuhan lab origin is still misinformation? Its not! The Misinformation you state is alleged! The "official" narrative is not the only narrative. The science does not just come from the government, science is open to debate.

You also state Imverectin is misinformation. This has been proven and published by accredited scientists. Tess Lawrie is a prime example.

You are lying to the general public and pushing lies and misinformation!

Accredited journals such as the BMJ have also published numerous times regarding governments using the Covid Pancdemic to gain control over their people. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FIXING-THE-PROPAGANDA (talkcontribs) 15:39, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
