About Little Taipei article[edit]

I removed the fact tags because most of those are inherently unverifiable. What kind of citation do you need to say that there are Chinese businesses in Monterey Park? All you need to do is go there. Do you go into an article about Wikipedia and ask for a citation that it's a website? It makes no sense.

There's no way you can find a citation for a line that says "at best considered a misnomer". It's so vague and hardly even a fact (especially considering the name "Little Taipei" in itself was an informal name for Monterey Park). You don't even need two citations for that line. The second one makes more sense as if we had that, then the first one would be pointless.Brend0 (talk) 11:34, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About the Sino-Mauritian page[edit]

Thank you for your message. The reason I removed the edit by GlassCobra without any justification was precisely because he reverted my edits without any reason or justification. All the edits I restored were previously justified when I wrote them in the first place. Kindly check. Thank you for your understanding:)

Just curious[edit]

why don't you go for adminship? I think you can be a very qualified candidate; long-term content building, detecting and reporting abusive sockpupper's disruptions, maintaining neutrality, civil attitude. --Caspian blue 03:31, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you've behaved very calmly on the sockpuppeter named "Boston--". I don't think you were bitey to the editor (didn't the new editor call the name?) Anyway, keep up the good work! :)--Caspian blue 04:09, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please take a look at the Tajiks in Xinjiang page?[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at the the Tajiks of Xinjiang page. I know that you worked a lot on the Sariqoli Language page. There was a lengthy discussion about what to call the people in Xinjiang who speak the the Sariqoli and Wakhi languages and are called Tajiks in China and in virtually all Chinese languages references, including those written by Chinese Tajiks. There was an agreement to call the page "Tajiks in Xinjiang", but some individuals have repeatedly reverted all references to Tajiks to "Pamiris", a term that applies to Tajikistan but is not in use in Chinese literature. I'm open to a debate about this, but the page has been reverted several times by an unregistered user (116.58.100.78). This includes the deletion of references, in particular Chinese language references and any reference that refers to these people as Tajiks. Thanks. Moles[edit]

First, a message for you from me:

"As an established editor of the article Mole (animal), your input is solicited on the Talk page to help resolve an ongoing dispute as to the nature and scope of the article. Chrisrus (talk) 04:01, 31 May 2009 (UTC)"[reply]

Next, I want to thank you for helping with that article.

To follow my message, you seem to be a calm and helpful Wikipedian whose work and objectivity are valued by many, so I very much hope you will give my argument a chance. I think you will find the debate very interesting, but if it does get a bit dull under "clarifications", skip a bit to the conclusions, that's where the point of that subsection is. Vank[edit]

Hello, I clean up Strong Japanese biased POV expression. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:03, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

sorry, but your reason is not justified. horrible grmatical error? you just change its grammar. not a whoe edit by part. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:05, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

1st of all, i'm not blocked for Korea-related edit warring.

2nd,

VANK is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of South Korea, and the ministry announced in 2008 that their support will continue.[1] VANK has received subsidies of activity capital from the South Korean government.[2][3]

this article is serious distorted.

VANK is not supported by goverment. Just appointed as "cyber diplomats". they are independence NGO. not controlled by goverment. so, "supported" is not suitable expression. also, i'm not a VANK. i realieze that article is so strong biased expression.Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:15, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly, they appointed as "cyber diplomats". however, it is not mean goverment controlled or 100% agreed their activity.Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:23, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK. please discuss it before you change. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:VANK#for_neutral_point_of_view Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • a denial of service attack of unknown origin occurred against Japanese bulletin board service 2channel.
"unknown origin occurred"?
"DDos attack to 2ch" was not exist.
  • 2channel users clamied that the attack was actually originated by VANK and DC without any single evidence
I already said, Japanese user made "fake" rumors. and "fake rumor" is proven fact and sourced material. don't delete it.
  • VANK receiving funding from the S. Korean government.
VANK recieved "donate" from government. it is not a funding.
and its money is not use for member's pockets. VANK is not a part-time job or employment for goverment.
  • "service attack on 2channel" wasn't exist.

Actually, VANK members never attack 2ch, "2ch attacked by vank" is Japanese nationalist made "Fake" rumor which promote to Japanese attack to vank site. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

  • About.com is not point out that VANK is e-mail bomber. they says, it is annoying to them. but, it is not mean VANK is e-mail bomber group. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 09:58, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dos attack was not exist. there is no evidence that 2ch attacked by Dos in that days. 2ch user claim that "2ch is slow! all bad thing caused by Korean! and attack vank!" 1. Japanese user hacking dc insdie and vank site in that day. 2. Korean user never hacking any Japanese site in that day. Cherry Blossom OK (talk) 10:01, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please help reserve Hong Kong public housing estate articles[edit]

Please help reserve Hong Kong public housing estate articles Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shek Yam East Estate, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shek Mun Estate and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tin Tsz Estate. If this continues, I think most of the Hong Kong housing articles will be deleted. I suggested ways to improve the articles, rather than deleting them. Migrant Workers[edit]

Original message. cab (talk) 08:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think you should read Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (of which the Philippines is party to) and similar provisions which pretty much states that the state and government has no right to discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity and the like. Given the OWWA government agency facilitates much of the activities of migrant workers, working abroad is pretty much open to anyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, and culture, as a result of the previous statement, which in turn will obviously result in the mirroring of the demographic inside and outside the country.--23prootie (talk) 00:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Replied. cab (talk) 08:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As you said working abroad is "open to anyone" which hypothetically means "anyone" so unless you could show sources that prove otherwise maybe you should just stick to subject which have your expertise.--23prootie (talk) 01:08, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it is not really relevant to over specify the demographics of one particular community unless it is a pretty established one since the demographics of migrant workers change every year so it is better to stick to a broad ambiguous base.--23prootie (talk) 01:11, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Replied. cab (talk) 08:54, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The problem with not writing anything on that list is the implication that these workers are probably not Catholic, Protestant, or Muslim, which is pretty much far from the truth. Unless you could show a source that specifies them as a distinct religious community, they should follow the usual pattern.--23prootie (talk) 01:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Persian/Iranian[edit]

Hi, "Persian" is not just an ethnic term. Iran is also known as Persia in the West. ("Perzie" in Dutch). Many Persian/Iranians in the Netherlands use "Perzie" and "Perzisch"; same to many Dutch media and writers. So it should be mentioned in the entry. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.171.56.13 (talk) 17:02, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Migration to the UK by continent[edit]

Hi. I've recently noticed the creation of the articles African migration to the United Kingdom, Migration to the United Kingdom from the Americas and Migration to the United Kingdom from Asia by a number of editors. I wonder what these articles bring to Wikipedia. At the moment, they only contain country-of-birth population figures and links to individual country-of-birth articles. This function is already played by the Foreign-born population of the United Kingdom article and numerous templates. I'm of the view that it is better to work on improving Foreign-born population of the United Kingdom and the individual country-of-birth articles rather than introducing yet another layer of article.

Take Brazilians in the UK as a group, for example. They feature in the articles Brazilians in the United Kingdom, Latin Americans in the United Kingdom, Migration to the United Kingdom from the Americas, and Foreign-born population of the United Kingdom. All of this is based on the same source material and I feel that we may be over-stretching when our efforts would be better employed improving on what we already have.

Do you have any thoughts on this? Cordless Larry (talk) 07:42, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable source on Immigration to Chile[edit]

[1] This requires a language translator to English unless you're fluent in Spanish like I am. The spanish language wiki has an article in full detail on Asian immigration including Afghans, South Asians and Southeast Asians into Chile. I knew about the first Indians came in the 1920s, Vietnamese in the cold war era (1960s) and Afghans arrived in Chile since 2000. They are small ethnic communities that used to have Wikipedia articles about them before someone deleted them (is there a way to retrieve deleted articles on the Wikipedia database? I can't find them on deletionpedia.com where I expect to locate). Should it be properly examined but in the Spanish language google search? Thanks for reading and would like your assistance. + 71.102.3.86 (talk) 09:30, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
