I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Will Kirby[edit]

Hi, I see you have uploaded a lot of images. All of those images are not "free", so we need to justify any that we keep. I have done that with two of them: Image:Press8bt.jpg on Dr. 90210, and Image:1306090810 s.jpg‎ on Will Kirby‎.

I think that Image:Splash image.jpg should be deleted as a duplicate of Image:Press8bt.jpg; do you have a problem with that?

Image:African spurred tortoise.jpg is also not defensible in my opinion, as we already have lots of similar images here: commons:Geochelone sulcata.

As for Will Kirby, there are three photos; I think we only need one:

My problems as far as orphaned pictures is random people are deleting the pictures. I have Dr Will Kirby's permission to use pictures available on his webpages here, as he likes the page kept updated. There is more than one picture because one is from 5 years ago when he won BB2 and there are newer more recent shots, ie for Dr. 90210 and of him today. Thanks for responding. I can see that you are having a battle with these images. Wikipedia has a lot of automated tools that try to remove images unless they are "justified". This is because lots of people upload copyright photos without having a right to do so. Having Dr Will's "permission" is not sufficient, as the images are still copyright to someone, which means they are not "free content". Which picture is BB2? Could you ask him if he is willing to release one or more of these photos into the public domain or re-license them as creative commons - please inform him this will mean that other websites could also use the images. Drwillwebpicwiki.jpg is the picture that was taken right after BB2, the others are more recent. One picture is the promtional picture used on Dr 90210. Knowing Dr Will only as an interested fan, I added to his wiki article with his permission, but I am a newbie to wiki and I don't think I understand the process. I almost wish I hadn't touched the page, but it was out of date and unfinished. I know he'd love having his picture everywhere. I'm not really sure how to delete orphaned pictures.

You are doing a good job of updating the article, and it is appreciated. However while your words are freely given to Wikipedia, we need images that are also freely given to Wikipedia. That is a lot more difficult, because the photographer owns the copyright. As a result you need to seek permission from whoever owns an image before uploading it, or you can upload photos that you have taken yourself.
