Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BetweenTheLines20Dec2007Cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BetweenTheLines20Dec2007Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:04, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BetweenTheLines20Dec2007Cover.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:BetweenTheLines20Dec2007Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 23:22, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

October 2008[edit]

How about discussing things on the Talk Page and working toward consensus instead of edit warring? You may also want to re-familiarize yourself with the policy on original research. Dp76764 (talk) 15:10, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • How are you defining concensus? If concensus means agreeing with you even when you're wrong, then I don't want to have concensus. Carla Bondicteuresse (talk) 15:15, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • WP:CONSENSUS#Reasonable_consensus-building: "Consensus develops from agreement of the parties involved. This can happen through discussion, editing, or more often, a combination of the two." If you're unwilling to discuss this and come to an agreement, then it will be difficult to establish a consensus (though we need more then 2 people commenting anyway). And consensus isn't exactly optional, it's part of the Pillars of Wikipedia. Dp76764 (talk) 17:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd be willing to meet you halfway if there was any chance of you budging. But if you're just going to say I'm wrong no matter what I say, I'm not going to waste my breath.

Blocked[edit]

After investigating a report at Wikipedia:Requests_for_checkuser/Case/PrimeFan, I have come to the conclusion that this account, along with a large number of other accounts, are all being operated by the same person as abusive sockpuppets. Operating multiple accounts is not permitted when they are used to edit the same articles and debates. However, due to the nature of the IP addresses involved, it is possible that some of these users have coincidentally shared a computer or IP address. If this is the case, you may request to be unblocked by emailing the blocking admin or the unblock mailing list with your official University email address. This is to prevent one person from spoofing the admins with multiple free throwaway email accounts such as gmail or yahoomail. (Your email address will not be stored or used other than for verification.) If this is a misunderstanding I apologize in advance, and your account will be unblocked as soon as you provide proof that you are a separate individual. Be advised two checkusers examined this case and agreed on the results.RlevseTalk 03:02, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:BetweenTheLines20Dec2007Cover.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
