Hey CarolH you can use your main user page User:CarolH for notes etc or your sandbox as linked top right User:CarolH/sandbox, you can also create other user sub pages such as User:CarolH/notes or User:CarolH/Article 1

I am just now finding your "we need you" comment and for the life of me, I can't remember why in the world I was attempting to do something in the Crown of the Andes!
