(For The Article on the superman Gene) To improve upon this article, I will try to add a summary box in the top right (Shown on many other gene articles), summarizing things like the gene's place in the OMIM Database, and any genetic orthologues. Also I can start by developing the articles info and organizing it into the following sections:

  • Introduction: Describing the gene's location , in what species it exists (Arabidopsis), when was it discovered, where it's name came from, brief summary of other vital information).
  • Function: Detailed overview of the gene's role as a homeotic gene (and how it controls. Maybe also using some images to show what plants with SUPERMAN regulation problems look like. Also this would be a good place to discuss it's mechanism of action
  • Epigenetics: Discuss the mode of cytosine methylation and how that changes the superman gene to the Clark Kent Epi-Allele
  • Interaction: Discuss in more detail how the Superman gene interacts with the ABC model of plant development

I could also then list relevant homologues

Draft feedback[edit]

Your plan is very solid - looking great!

  • "Specifically, cytosine methylation (the attachment of Methyl molecules to cytosine bases), which represses it's activity." -- avoid errant capitals - Methyl does not need to be capitalized here. Also watch your grammar - ignoring the bracketed statement, this reads "Specifically, cytosine methylation, which represses it's activity." -- this sentence doesn't make any sense. 'it's' should be changed to 'its.' Finally, you might consider simply linking out to the page on methylation rather than describing it, or adding a sentence about epigenetics to put things in context.

Good job so far.
