Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Norman03.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 02:34, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have added a reference to your own article (in French) to this article in the English WP. Why? Is the article wrong? If so why have you not corrected its content? I note that you are sa professor in an £nglish-speaking country. Is there no English language version available? if so, can you not provide a link to that. My first reaction was to delete your addition, as inappropriate to the English WP, but I think that would have been wrong. Many articles in WP are now moving to a stage where they have full in-line citations, rather than merely a bibliography. Might I suggest that you should work on that? Fluid dynamics task force[edit]

Dear Chansonh. At the moment we are reviving the WikiProject Fluid Dynamics, but now as the Task Force Fluid Dynamics within the WikiProject Physics. They provide all kind of support, including technical and organisational. And we need all support we can get to make this task force vibrant and solid. Since you are a well-known expert in the field, we would very much appreciate your help. If you like to: please have a look at the task force page (including a list of members) and its talk page. Best regards, Crowsnest (talk) 10:03, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know, I believe you made a mistake by writing a new article on {{newpage}}. Actually, this template is meant to be placed on top of a new page when it is in the process of being created. It is not a place for writing new articles.

Anyway, the new article you tried to create there can be found right here. Sebwite (talk) 06:02, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Stepped spillway requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Largo Plazo (talk) 04:30, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Dr H Chanson Hello, after checking it looks like you wrote the original article that Stepped spillway copied. Are you able to prove this by emailing from your email account to permissions-en@wikimedia.org to say that you wish to release this under a CC-BY-SA-3.0 license as in WP:PERMIT. Disambiguation link notification for April 26[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Charles Chanson, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Japanese Army (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Stepped spillway does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Please note also: While I have no reason to doubt your good intentions, I think the extent to which you cite your own work on Wikipedia may present a conflict of interest in some eyes. See Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#Citing_yourself. Eric talk 03:05, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
