Proposed deletion of Pharmascold[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pharmascold, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

neologism - see WP:NEO

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.     JCutter  talk to me }     23:59, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Pharmascold[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Pharmascold meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pharmascold. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Agathoclea (talk) 11:40, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is copyright violation.--Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 16:03, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. With respect to your note that this document is in the public domain, do you have any we can verify this? I'm afraid that the fact that it was published in multiple sources is not in itself enough, as we can't verify that the copyright holders did not specifically grant that publication in multiple points. Since copyright is a legal concern, Wikipedia must be absolutely certain that previously published content is free for our use. (For more information, see Wikipedia:Copyright and Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.) While I'm uncertain of our ability to use the text on Wikipedia, if we can't verify public domain, I am checking to see if it can be used on Wikisource—a sister project that published primary source documents—as a "public manifesto." If so, even if we can't verify public domain, we may be able to place the document there and link to it from here, with a short encyclopedic description in original text. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:58, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have copied this document over to Wikisource, and the copyright aspect is being discussed at s:Wikisource:Possible_copyright_violations#International_Consensus_Statement_on_Attention_Deficit_Hyperactivity_Disorder.
The Wikipedia page has been deleted, however please feel free to write a Wikipedia article about this topic, without the full text, if you feel that it is sufficiently important.
For your own reference, here is the introduction you wrote:

A tag has been placed on The International Consensus Statement on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of The International Consensus Statement on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)[edit]

The article The International Consensus Statement on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is just an article on a citation. The title of the reference sounds good but it is not notable for an article. It uses the word international in it but it was not put together by an international body, it is not notable and should be speedly deleted. If not then what is to stop editors creating articles on lots of different references that they think are notable? It should also be noted that this article is a recreation of a previously deleted article International Consensus Statement on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder was deleted a while back.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
