Ignoring the bottom half which is the proper welcome, just today with the long rambling nonsense i am being extra jokey, even if it is a bit late.
Also, your contributions are fine and don't think about quantity so much, more quality.

Wikiproject Merseyside[edit]

As you've stated on your user page that you're from Merseyside, I thought you might be interested in a proposal for a Merseyside wikiproject. The project (should it gain enough support) would aim to improve articles related to Merseyside and get like minded editors working together in the process. If you are interested in joining please put your name on the list. Happy editing. Nev1 (talk) 18:56, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you getting your information? I can't find any evidence that TS watches/warnings were discontinued for the Dominican Republic nor for Jamaica. I also can't figure out where you are getting your numbers on the storm's windspeed. The latest advisory (as far as I can tell) is Advisory Number 5A, which shows warnings in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica and a much lower windspeed than your edit. Am I missing something? Plasticup T/C 12:13, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so, I stand corrected. I presumed that when I read the advisory and it didn't mention any tropical warnings/watches, they weren't in force. Isn't there a Hurricane watch now in force for Jamaica, or am I wrong again? Chris1193 (talk) 12:28, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Uh oh, looks like I shouldn't be editing wikipedia without my morning coffee. I think I am right on the wind speed, but I owe you a hundred apologies on the watches/warnings issue. The Tropical Storm watches/warnings have all been upgraded to Hurricane watches/warnings and I have no excuse except my inability to read simple English. You were 100% right on that. Plasticup T/C 12:37, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, I think we have both learnt to read simple English properly in the future then! Chris1193 (talk) 12:48, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, no promises, but I'll do my best! Plasticup T/C 13:01, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are receiving this message because you are listed as an active participant in WikiProject Meteorology, WikiProject Severe weather, and/or WikiProject Non-tropical storms. I have made a proposal to start an official assessment page for these three projects, under the WP:METEO banner. Since this would need significant participation to work properly, I'd like input from as many interested parties as possible (even those who may not watch the project pages), so please visit the discussion here and leave your thoughts/opinions. Thanks! -RunningOnBrains 02:48, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:47, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors[edit]

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 04:13, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
