One "Creepy Crawler" (talk | contribs) has created the categories Dr. Seuss actors and People who Portrayed a Comic Book Villain. I agree that it might have been better for CyberGhostface to bring this up on the talk page first. When he deleted that selection, I didn't necessarily agree with him, but he has at least made a reasonable argument for its removal. You have made personal accusations. Drop the "long-term Wikipedian" and jealousy accusations; they are not becoming, and it comes across as edit count envy. • Maybe I would be more civil if people would approach me on my edits rather than deleting right away. But everytime some deletes my contributions, they don't even tell me about it. Kind of like they hope I won't find out about the deletion. What will help is if you register. I know that I tend to expect unregistered users to be hit-and-runners, people who stop by to make an edit, very often an act of vandalism and then take off and never re-appear. We tend not to expect anonymous users to actually care about their edits because they haven't taken the time and made the near-effortless effort to register. In addition to other editors realizing you actually care, registering will make it even easier for other editors to contact you personally and will provide much more anonymity than will your home's IP address. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 06:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Batman

I know I probably shouldn't be accusing anyone of being a fanboy, especially someone who "can always watch Batman", but I am frustrated because no matter what I do -- many people aren't happy with the facts. I have cited the comic book, the movies, the animated series, and outside research from others -- but I am still accused of not citing anything. Batman has committed crimes, within his world, and those crimes have been observed by characters inside and outside of that world. Perhaps fans of Batmnan should recognize their bias and thus refrain from removing any criticism. And it's hardly criticism since it's simply the fact of the character. Characters in comic books are far more complex nowadays and many of them, like the Batman, have their dark criminal sides.

Vandalism

You marked St. Mark's Poetry Project for deletion because you considered that the Poetry Project lacked notability. One person's unfamiliarity with such a long well-known institution doesn't constitute lack of notability; you might have been a little diligent and googled it. After I added more information to support notability and removed your marking for deletion, you went and removed the information I added and re-marked the page for deletion claiming again the institution lacked notability. Your first action was irresponsible and your second was malicious. It's all there in the page history at St. Mark's Poetry Project. Plus, you stalked me in the first place after having a difficulty with the opinion I expressed at the talk page for East Liberty (Pittsburgh), so your sudden interest in the Poetry Project was suspicously more suddenly about me than the Poetry Project.

I don't really give a shit if you stalk me. I'll just change to a different user id and continue to contribute to the WP project. I don't care if all my contributions are credited to me or not. People like you who wish to use WP to build themselves an online persona by obsessively feathering their own caps are a good argument for the fork of WP at http://citizendium.org/ JimmyTheSaint 15:51, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

First of all, I have never marked the article for deletion. You never claimed notability: All you said was that it existed and where it was located, so there was a very good chance another administrator might have come along and speedy deleted it. Articles have to be on notable subjects, and if an article doesn't make an attempt to even claim notability, it will be deleted, particularly if it is a one-sentence article that has sat for days with no movement. I tagged the article so you would have the information available to you to at least claim notability and avoid deletion. That wasn't an attack at all; I was trying to help you or anyone else who might find the article to improve it. Did you even read the attached information? I imagine not because you assumed the tag was for deletion, despite being clearly marked otherwise. I do see now that you have mentioned it that my revert removed an attempt at claiming notability, and for that I apologize. Because of the removal of the notability tag and the quirks of the edit compare system, I did not recognize that you had made improvements to the article. It wasn't malicious; it was a mistake, and for that I apologize.

Why did I not search for articles to support your claims? Because it wasn't an immediate need once notability was claimed, and I was trying to work my way through two days of my 600-article watchlist, which I was more interested in taking care of first. You have treated everything I have done as an attack, which has not been the case at all. I do not disagree with you in any way about the East Liberty article; I think you make rather good points, and I would really like to see the article move in the direction you suggest. It's disappointing that it's not there already. I merely moved your comments to the bottom of the talk page where they are supposed to go to improve their visibility. You claimed vandalism then, saying that moving your comments from the top of the page made them less visible, but the opposite is true. New comments go at the bottom, and editors with any sort of experience using them will look there for the most recent suggestions on the article. Likewise, I didn't stalk you. I had no intention of harassing you whatsoever, despite the baseless accusations you continue to level at me; I thought your ideas were good, and I wanted to make sure other editors saw them.

Finally, don't be a dick. Instead of asking questions, you made accusations. Whether you change your user name or not, your beligerent behavior and refusal to follow simple instructions on Wikipedia will draw the same sort of attention from other administrators, and you will have the same problems with them. Ace Class Shadow

I have been researching Ace Class Shadow's edits and comments for some time now, and I can't believe he has not been blocked! Forget the fact that he completely jumped my butt a few weeks ago in the Spider Man 3 discussion, but he seems to take great joy in tearing down other users to the point of downright meanness. I'm asking a very serious question here, and this may be hard to believe, but I don't know the guy or have an alterior motive. But my question is this: when will it stop? I mean, take a look at his posts and the angry responses from other users concerning Ace's comments. He totally takes the joy out of contributing to this wonderful encyclopedia. I did say something about the project. The entire comment was about the project, framed in the fact that it was my 15,000th post. Your comment to me here was in no way constructive; it only comes across as needlessly negative after I just said something very positive about the project. Please think about how necessary it was to say this to me. As for being an administrator, I have been taking it easy, getting to know the new tools and responsibilities. Comicsproj

Hey Chris, I'm currently updating the comicsproj template along the lines of a few others. At the minute in a sandbox of mine I'm tinkering and I've added some extra fields:

• attention: if set to yes this will put it in Category:Comics needing cleanup
• fiction: if set to yes this will put it in Category:Wikipedia comics articles needing their fiction made clear
• infobox: if set to yes this will put it in Category:Comics articles needing info boxes

I'll also add some categories to cover the collaboration nomination procedure and we should think about setting up a project peer review. Can you think of anything else that we need to tag that could be better handled through the comicsproj template than a banner on the front page? Steve block Talk 09:56, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

That's not a bad idea. So far the variables I've set up are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/Project banner, although they aren't live yet as I'm having problems with the peer review tag which I'm just sorting. What, a dispute="yes" tag that sorts articles to Category:WikiProject Comics articles with disputes or rfc="yes" that sorts articles to Category:WikiProject Comics articles requesting comment?
