A tag has been placed on Vacationair requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. noq (talk) 09:31, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Estrellas del Aire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability. Just because it existed does not make it WP:Notable. Directories and pictures do not establish notability. See WPReliable sources

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 09:35, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Estrellas del Aire, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Estrellas del Aire. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. noq (talk) 08:17, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome[edit]

You've gotten off to a busy start with these new articles!

Thanks for doing all this.

Unfortunately, as you've probably seen, some either have been deleted or are being considered for deletion. That's because we're pretty picky about the concepts of "notability" and "verifiability".

Wikipedia's most important rules

Wikipedia's got hundreds of pages of guidelines and policies. I'm an administrator here and I sure don't know them all. The good news is that you don't have to either. Instead, take a few minutes to carefully read this page:

That sums up about 90% of the rules you need to actually know.

New articles and "notability"

Next, if you're going to create new articles, read over this guideline carefully. Very carefully.

It governs which articles qualify for inclusion on Wikipedia and which don't. I have an instinct that all of the airlines you've created articles for are notable by our standards, but unfortunately, it's difficult to prove -- the media articles or books that establish this aren't readily available online since these airlines went out of business before Internet.

Bancjet Systems

I noticed you created an article that about Bancjet Systems that was deleted. I have "restored" the article to a sub-page of this user page. That means it's not officially part of the encyclopedia and is not subject to our notability requirements. You can work on the article and find references for it, then when it meets our requirements, we can re-establish it as a regular article. You'll find this article at

Don't remove certain deletion notices

If the notice says:

"This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policy. Please share your thoughts on the matter at this article's entry on the Articles for deletion page. Feel free to edit the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed. For more information, particularly on merging or moving the article during the discussion, read the Guide to deletion."

Don't delete it! People get really huffy about that around here (it's a long story as to why they do). You did that with the Air Bras d'or article. Instead, go to the deletion discussion for that article:

Read others' comments, then add your own opinions.

Vacationair

That article was also deleted; I've recovered it and move it to another user sub-page for you:

Estrellas del Aire

That article was also deleted; I've recovered it and move it to another user sub-page for you:

Again, welcome to Wikipedia!

Some similar deleted articles have also been recovered and moved to user subpages:

September 2010[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Estrellas del Aire. Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. noq (talk) 23:36, 5 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:ClobberDogy/Vacationair[edit]

I fixed the page here so that its not listed in the category. User pages should not appear with articles in categories. Enter CBW, waits for audience applause, not a sausage. 10:23, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
