Speedy deletion of Surrural[edit]

A tag has been placed on Surrural requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. J.delanoygabsadds 18:00, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Surrural[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Surrural, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:38, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I declined the speedy deletion of the above article because I did not feel that the criterion applied, but I'm afraid that I do agree that this article may not be appropriate for inclusion on Wikipedia. I have tagged it for proposed deletion (PROD), a process used for uncontroversial deletions. (The message from me immediately above is an automatically placed template; I just wanted to leave you a personal note as well.) Unlike speedy deletion templates, you can contest this deletion simply by removing the template at the talk of the article. Before you do so, though, I would ask you to please read over the guideline on neologisms and consider whether there is enough notability on this term for it to warrant stand-alone status. It may be a good topic of conversation in one or both of the two related articles, but unless additional reliable sourcing can be produced to show that this term has gained widespread usage or that its application to the music of either of these individuals has invited media discussion, it may not currently meet guidelines for articles. If, after reading that, you agree that the article should be deleted, you can replace the PROD template with {{db-A7}} to indicate that you agree with the article's removal. If you do nothing, the article is likely to be deleted after five days. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to drop me a note at my talk page. Thanks for your contributions, and I hope you will continue to pitch in in spite of the wrinkle you've encountered with this particular article. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:45, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for reading over the guideline on neologisms and responding at the article's talk page. I've replied to you there. :)rep --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gourds[edit]

You've done a great job expanding the Gourds article. No need to apologize for the few mistakes you've made; the beauty of the wiki is that there is always someone checking your work and fixing the little things. Although it's tedious to read through all at once, the manual of style is worth checking out whenever you've got questions. Cheers. Strobilus (talk) 19:01, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Surrural, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Surrural. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Ridernyc (talk) 02:59, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
