Image copyright problem with Image:Warren5.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Warren5.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Fair use rationale for File:Series 7 Cast.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Series 7 Cast.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sasikiran (talk) 15:23, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've reverted your edits to this as they were done without consensus and against guidelines for templates; please discuss changes on the talk page before making them, otherwise I guarantee you will be reverted again. Thanks. --Rodhullandemu 20:52, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did to Template:Torchwood, you will be blocked from editing. Stop editing against consensus otherwise i might well decide your contributions here are no longer welcome- at all. --Rodhullandemu 18:56, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the future, please do not upload copyrighted images without fair use rationales as shown at WP:FURG. I've deleted the various images you uploaded of characters from The Skins. If you plan on uploading them, again, please read WP:NFC.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:01, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Doctornav[edit]

Please do not make large edits to templates, as they effect multiple pages. The formatting change (adding in breaks) is simply incorrect in Wikipedia formatting, and the issue of Hurndall has been discussed heavily. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 18:25, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Eleventh Doctor[edit]

Hello, please do not move the image of Matt Smith in the Eleventh Doctor article. A great deal of discussion has been made about that images use, and it was agreed in the talk page that this image should be used in the "Casting" section rather than as a main pic as it doesn't necessarily depict the character himself, but rather the actor portraying him. Please see the talk page for more information. magnius (talk) 18:32, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Planet of the Dead, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Maccy69 (talk) 18:32, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Rhys Alun Williams, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.pearsecom.co.uk/torchwoodch/twch/rhys.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 18:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

July 2009[edit]

I've removed the vandalism notice that I put up because I was mistaken. Sorry about the confusion, but again it is generally considered good practice to provide an edit summary when you make changes. Due to the large number of changes you had been making without edit summaries, I believed at the time it constituted vandalism . So once again, I'm sorry for my confusion and false accusation of vandalism. Mad Pierrot (talk) 19:17, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

Well the material I used for Rhys Alun Williams is the same material used in Rhys Williams (Torchwood), i merely copyed the text from there, and then deleted the page. I never went to another website for information.

That website copied from Wikipedia, clearly. It happens. Confuses the bots. But for other reasons, it probably be its own page.~ZytheTalk to me! 22:13, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will try and find out from the website owner as to when that page was created. the very first version of the wikipedia page created back in 2008 is identical to the website. Since then, the wikipedia article has diverged but there are still copyright issues with the page. I do apologise for the copyright warning I placed on your user talk page. I hope it doesn't discourage you from continuing to edit wikipedia. Copyright is a serious issue to us. Sometimes however when people do not correctly attribute wikipedia content, it causes plagarism and copyright concerns for us. I will ask though that until I have ascertained, not to recreate the page :) Hope this sounds ok. Many thanks Seddσn talk|WikimediaUK 14:52, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November 2009[edit]

Please do not add content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Companion (Doctor Who). Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did to The Waters of Mars. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. magnius (talk) 23:27, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009[edit]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to The X Factor (UK). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please don't do that again, it's inappropriate in an encyclopedia. Rodhullandemu 17:37, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Joe McElderry.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ZooFari 02:53, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This proposed change is still being discussed on Talk page, and hasn't reached consensus yet; please discuss there. Rodhullandemu 18:19, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Replace that logo without consensus once more, and you will be blocked. Please discuss rather than edit-war. Rodhullandemu 18:26, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Over-the-Rainbow.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Over-the-Rainbow.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILYsock(TALK) 07:41, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:E-dale-2010-04-10-23h27m56s239.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:E-dale-2010-04-10-23h27m56s239.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:41, 10 April 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:41, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ANI[edit]

See here. Pyrrhus16 15:42, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dannyboybaby1234. I come to your talk page from the post to Administrators' Noticeboard/Incidents that Pyrrhus16 linked above. Thank you for creating that page a few weeks ago. It's only natural to feel some sense of ownership of something you created, but Wikipedia does not work that way. On Wikipedia, "If you do not want your writing to be edited, used, and redistributed at will, then [you should] not submit it here." (It's at the bottom of the editing window when you click "edit this page".) No one has ownership of articles on Wikipedia. Not you, not Pyrrhus16. Wikipedia is a collaborative project to produce articles. We follow the bold, revert, discuss cycle. You and Pyrrhus16 have already gone through being bold and reverting each other, so now we're at the discussion part.
You two seem to have two principal disputes. One is capitals in section headers. Wikipedia's house style, found at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Section_headings, is to just capitalize the first word. If you're not happy with the house style, then the solution is to suggest a change. In this case, I think a change is unlikely. This convention has been around a long time. Changing it would require changing 3 million pages. That's not going to happen without a good reason. Your second dispute is about whether "fancying" is good prose in the section header. That issue is less clear and could benefit from some discussion at Talk:Aaron Livesy. In any case, you should stop edit-warring on the article and start discussing this or any other disputes on the talk page. Thank you.--Chaser (talk) 16:20, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Dannyboy, this is just not how Wikipedia works. You should expect others to edit the page at any time. They have every right to do so. You do not own the Aaron Livesy article.--Chaser (talk) 15:10, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While it is wonderful that you are a fan, and great that you feel strongly about this article, you want things that are simply not possible. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fansite, and the level of detail you want in the article is inappropriate for our standards. I have a suggestion, though, that might help. A discussion is forming on Talk:Aaron Livesy, in hopes of bringing the article to standards, and if you would help that would be wonderful. If you still want large amounts of detail, I suggest the Emmerdale Wikia: It has similar formatting it Wikipedia, but is devoted to nothing but Emmerdale; I'm sure they would love to have their sections expanded with your knowledge. I would suggest you do both, help us to build an encyclopedic article about Livesy, and at the same time make theirs the best it can be. Sodam Yat (talk) 17:51, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Charlie-Haynes-May12.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Charlie-Haynes-May12.png.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:09, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Stacey Slater a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Scott Marsh - My Family[edit]

Scott Marsh is not currently a main character, and not even a recurring character yet. Please leave him off the list until he has been in a few more episodes. 93.186.23.198 (talk) 16:49, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scott Marsh[edit]

I do not want to get into an edit war with you, but you keep undoing my edits where I removed the character of Scott Marsh, who has only appeared in one episode of the current series so far, with 5 episodes aired, without explanation - which is required. I have given valid reasons why I have taken him off, he can be added again if he is given a more prominant role in the series. Can we make this a discussion before its changed again? 93.186.23.200 (talk) 22:22, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article List of Doctor Who serials, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. Personal blogs cannot be used as they cannot be verified. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to List of songs in Glee (season 2). Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
