Hi David,
I dont know if im getting back to you in the right place, but thanks for getting back to me. I do understand I ded add my link in too many places, but I do think that thesnookerforum.com is related very much and can be very helpful to people researching snooker, I also have other things that I can contribute to that section, is it ok if i add the link back(only in snooker section), and I also would like to add something on the new hook rest.
Regards

Some recent reversions[edit]

Hello. I am somewhat puzzled by your recent reversions of squaring the circle, parallelogram, parabola, and ruler-and-compass construction. In all four, the same anonymous editor added some external links to cut-the-knot, a fairly well-respected web site, on relevant topics. Michael Hardy 00:26, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Reproductions of works of art.[edit]

Hello. See Bridgeman Art Library Ltd. v. Corel Corporation. However, although a photo of a work of art may be in the public domain, there are certain situations (I have heard) in which a company can still own the digital rights to an image, even if the image is in the public domain. I'm fuzzy on the details. I'm pretty sure it requires that every detail of the image be recorded in high quality. Sorry I'm not more help. – Quadell (talk) (help) 23:15, Jan 10, 2005 (UTC)

Astley Green Colliery Museum[edit]

[Moved from my user page]
Hi David. Whilst I applaud your mission in life as stated above, it was my (although I am not shown as the author) original article on the museum, and I do feel that we are cutting off our nose to spite our face in this instance. I did realise that what I was saying was taken from the website, which was why I specifically said "taken from the website". Now all that we have is a bland statement that it is a museum and where it is, and all other info is lost. AND we now have it listed on two stub lists. I cannot believe that that is a step forward!!! VfD[edit]

I've re-written Algiers Agreement. It probably needs more work as this is not a subject about which I know a great deal, but it is now a completely different article. You may wish to consider withdrawing your nomination. (Or not, if you think it stinks.) Ground Zero 20:45, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

What's the deal?[edit]

It was my understanding that all such images predating a certain period were in the public domain. Further, rather than clutter my talk page with all that stuff, why not simply direct me to a link with the necessary info.? deeceevoice 23:33, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your comments[edit]

Hi David,

I appreciate the feedback. I am a rookie here, so my apologies if I have erred in any way. A comment and a question.

1- Not sure why you are calling this a hoax? Canadian media has apparently scoped it out and confirmed that this girl exists and that the incident occured. I added some cites to my talk page to back up that I am not trying to pull anything over on anyone. This was a legitimate occurrence.

2- Regarding the photo, I created the uploaded photo by modifying existing photos that appeared on personal websites and as such, were I believe fair use. I took the photos, modified them, and posted. Am I not ok doing this? if I am, how do I properly caption the photo so that I do not have it removed in 7 days?

Thanks

Image twubbles[edit]

Dealing with your post on my talk page; my uploaded pictures were made by myself. I could provide the URLs if you would like. Update: I'd just like to thank you for acting quickly; I wouldn't want any negative points on me just yet. --Master of Puppets 01:19, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright help?[edit]

Hello, you notified me that the file I uploaded, [Image:Banner.gif] needed a more accurate copyright tag. Two things I need to ask.

1. I'm not sure what tag to give it. I'm finding the wikipedia's tag system rather complicated, and can't find a proper one for my image. I made the image myself, so am I limited to the four tags listed under "for image creators"? The only one that I fully understand is No Rights Reserved, and I guess I could probably use that for mine, but what if I didn't want people using my image and claiming it as theirs?

2. I realized that maybe I should pick a more specific name for it, instead of Banner.gif, since someone else uploaded a picture with the same name, and changed the image to theirs on my user page. I want to change it to a more unique name. Is there a way to delete my image from banner.gif so I can try again?

Thank you, Fwahobadagadz

Larsmeister's images[edit]

Hi David Thanks for noticing my B Battery token jpg.I am trying to figure out how to submit stuff to Wikipedia and this was my first day attempting to do this. The picture is of a token I scanned from my collection.I figure since the token is over 100 years old it doesn't have a copyright to its depiction.Regards Larry the preceding unsigned comment is by Larsmeister (talk • contribs)

Updated images.[edit]

Hello David. I have uploaded similar images and licenced them to a GNU Free Documentation License. Again, the the new images I have taken myself, which I have stated in the summary. The new images are now on the Dublin Airport and Achill Island pages. Those non-licenced old images can be deleted (I don't actually know how to delete an image). By Xen_1986.

Thanks for the tip off. I thought that I had selected an option during the upload process, but obviously not.

Any pictures that I upload will be available freely for use elsewhere, so I'd appreciate advice on the best wording. Ade Just1Page 12:18, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pat Buchanan/ Richard Wurmbrand images[edit]

Richard Wurmbrands image was from his book, which was free to use for any purpose. As for Pat Buchanan, that was his official state picture which was also free for use. the preceding unsigned comment is by JJstroker (talk • contribs)

Frankie J. picture[edit]

Hi David! First off, thanks for being so polite with your comments about the file I uploaded, some people on here can be very rude, but you're not one of them, thank Heaven! When I looked at my contributions, there was a URL with it. I re-uploaded it, and when it asked for the licensing, I put it on "Press release photo." I hope that's OK, since it came from Oyemag and I assume a picture taken for a magazine would be a press release photo, but if I am wrong, please let me know, I will try again. Once again, thankyou for pointing out my mistake and being so polite and dignified about it. Have a great day! --WikiFiend90 05:26, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi David! Thanks for the information, and thanks so much for re-tagging it for me. Next time I upload an image I'll be sure to tag it. I've figured out that most of the images I find (I usually Google for images when I need one for an article on here) would be under fair use, thanks to your explanation. Thankyou so much for helping me clear all this up without jumping down this Wikinewbie's throat, hehe. Have a great day! :-) --WikiFiend90 04:03, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

VT Frost Heaves[edit]

David, thanks for putting the copyright logo disclaimer on the image page. Just FYI, the image was emailed to me by the team's owner for the purpose of putting on the WP page about the team. That seems like a pretty good license for use (and I have saved the email). FrostHeaves 00:21, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged the image before he could respond to you, the image is a manga scan and is imperative to illustrate what trrigered the start of the Oh My Goddess! serries. I hope you don't mind my interference :) --Cool CatTalk|@ 11:15, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
