License tagging for Image:Kpclogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kpclogo.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Alan Boraas[edit]

An editor has nominated Alan Boraas, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alan Boraas and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. | Mr. Darcy talk 03:05, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Im quite sure that Alan Boraas is notable and the sources to prove it can be found. If you need any assistance, let me know. John Vandenberg 04:52, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Dan, greetings from a fellow UAAer, though I'm up in Anchorage campus. I found where the Dena'ina Language Guide went & added it back to Boraas' page. You may have noticed in the deletion discussion that I joined into it last night -- I've been working intensively on improving the article on Peter Kalifornsky and came across the Boraas discussion thusly. Also committed to keeping the Boraas article up & found a bunch of stuff last night, including the bib I added a reference to last night -- a downloadable .pdf -- which includes within it citations of a number of things Boraas has written. Also a number or articles at Anchorage Daily News & Peninsula Clarion making discussing/describing archaeological digs Boraas has supervised, & a major grant from UAA Chancellor's fund for working with the Kenaitze Tribe on Dena'ina language stuff. Will add my info as I can, but maybe also we should talk? Best wishes. -- Yksin 07:46, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The result of the AfD discussion on Alan Boraas was Keep. --Yksin 18:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:ZuneSoftware Small.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:ZuneSoftware Small.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free media (Image:ZuneSoftware Small.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ZuneSoftware Small.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ZuneLogo Horizontal Large.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ZuneLogo Horizontal Large.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:24, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
