Women from Skye

Hi there, Delphine. I see you are involved in the editathon on 19 and 20 October. I have not yet been able to find a meetup page for the event. If you put one together, it would allow participants from Women in Red to add redlinks and perhaps help out with new articles. Let me know how else we can help you out. Good luck with the event!--Ipigott (talk) 09:06, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi Ipigott! Sorry I wasn't able to get this to you sooner. Here's the event page: Wikipedia:GLAM/SLIC/Events/Women of Skye Wikipedia Editathon. I'll be updating it with progress later on today. Delphine Dallison (talk) 08:22, 20 October 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. It might be a good idea to include a section on Participants. It would make it easier for us to help them along. As for women to be covered, you might like to add Shirley Spear of The Three Chimneys restaurant[1], [2] and Gaelic Ambassador Eilidh Cormack [3], [4]. Hope you have a successful day.--Ipigott (talk) 09:26, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Women in Red barnstar

The Women in Red barnstar
This barnstar is awarded to Delphine Dallison for providing effective training at the Women of Skye Editathon, encouraging several new participants to embark on the biographical coverage of interesting women from the Scottish island of Skye.--Ipigott (talk) 16:45, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, Ipigott! It was a great event. In total, 6 new articles have been published to date, 10 articles were improved and an additional 7 articles currently exist in draft state and will hopefully be published within the next two weeks. 14 new editors were trained, 13 of which were women. Thanks for your support tidying up some of the pages and dealing with the Giselle Jaffray draft deletion. Delphine Dallison (talk) 08:40, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
That's quite a few more than I had seen. If any of the editors you have been training decide to stick with Wikipedia and create more women's biographies, it might be useful for them to become members of Women in Red. Please let them know we would be glad to welcome them.--Ipigott (talk) 10:08, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
I'm working on improving articles and doing some tidy up today. I'll also update the event page in the process and add the names of participants so you can use that to send them an invite to the Women in Red project. They're all converts, so I'm sure it will be well received. Delphine Dallison (talk) 10:22, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
I've just seen the BBC also commented on your success.--Ipigott (talk) 08:36, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
