Epilepsy in Females with Mental Retardation[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for your work on the article Epilepsy in Females with Mental Retardation. At the moment we're tripping over each other a bit. I've been working to help clean up verbiage, the citations and get it into "wikified" state.

I see there's a bit of regression, bringing back some poorly formatted citations, putting too much in the intro, etc.

How would you like to proceed? Do you want me to drop out so you can work? Let you know where there are issues that are returning?

I seen any response, so I'm not sure what you're thinking. I finished the basic scrub of the article, so now I'm working on review of the content against existing sources. It seems the best that you found is the Scheffer journal article, so I'm starting that - ensuring that all the info is captured - and it's clear what's attributed to her work. Then, the same thing needs to be done for the other sources and any new sources.

Hi, I am sorry I was fixing all errors, thank you for your help, please tell me everything, please change everything that you think that have problems, many references are needed because is a health document and many researcher and doctor can read this article... I am spanish and it´s too much work for me because i am writting in english, it´s a new syndrome and i am working on it.

I am very sorry about the problem you are experiencing, we can't just give everything a citation it is up to you, and/or the wikipedia community, to do that. Great work on adding the missing citations and you caught some great copy edits, too!

A couple of points to consider:

There are quite a number of copyright violations, which alone can result in an immediate deletion of an article. The basic point is that we cannot take exact verbiage from a source unless we put it in quotes - and that should be done only where it's really needed. Close paraphrasing rewords the author's words so that it gets across the meaning without using their words. Reordering points helps too. I'm working to 1) summarize the info (for instance the readers don't need to know the counts in the studies, but percentages are good) and 2) work to close paraphrase the content. There are a couple of places where external links (http://...) were use in the midst of an article. I'm assuming that what was wanted was to make them references, so I did that, but we need more informatoin about the source: title, publisher, journal, author, date posted or published, etc. ) Wikipedia articles should not have external links within the body of the article, see WP:External links

Antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) are used in most of the cases to control seizures, but in severe cases there is high drug resistance. There is evidence that patients respond well to treatment with levetiracetam and in cases of drug resistance experts indicated that some patients were treated with stiripentol. Studies are being conducted for future use of galaxolona, a neurosteroid drug that is not yet marketed, which is currently in Phase III of clinical trials. Here you are asking to me about a Citation, i have the video of the International Epilepsy congress where experts spoke about it, but there is nothing published about it, in the congress Dr. Scheffer told everything, i have the video and now she is writting about it, if you want i can ask for her if she allow me to upload the video to Internet.

That's a very good question - I don't know. I am guessing that if there is a way for people to get a copy of the video (library, the organization, etc.) we can cite it as long as we have the information: title, date, publisher, who provided the information about galaxolona, how the video could be retrieved. Alternatively: If you have the speaker's name, it may be that with the speaker's name we could google and find something on the web. Does that make sense?
