In 2009, WikiProject Years developed a essay for the inclusion of events "recent year" articles.

Important policy discussions took place in January 2009 at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (dates and numbers) and at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Years.

2010s in fashion

Excellent idea, Pro66 as 2010 is (alas) almost upon us. My suggestion on how to start the page is to go over to the 1970s in fashion article and take a look at that. IMO, this is one of the best fashion articles in Wikipedia as it has lots of authentic images (not retro!), plus the article is written in sections, and manages to describe all of the major fashion trends of that decade without it being blog-like or using itemisations. Good luck! If you need any more suggestions, feel free to ask me. I have edited many of the fashion articles, supplied vintage images, etc. I added quite a bit to the 1960s in fashion and 1980s in fashion articles besides the 1970s page. I love working on these particular articles as they're so much fun! Unfortunately the 1990s article really needs a lot of work and more images, especially of that 1990s fashion phenomenon-grunge! The 2000s article needs to remove the itemisations and instead use sections with an overview of the decade. It can be done when 2009 ends, however.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 07:59, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

You're not unbiased

Thomas Andrews (shipbuilder) was a British citizen, it was discussed on the Reference Desk and the result was "he was British". I understand what you say but at least put "Irish-born British....".... P.S: I understand you. You're Irish and I know Irish people hate Britons, but it's an encyclopedia. Greetings from Argentina! --FromSouthAmerica (talk) 15:27, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I do, I understand very well. But I don't wanna argue with you. I don't care. Kisses to you... Irish boy. --FromSouthAmerica (talk) 17:55, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Nu Metal

Hmm, I still don't see why you like to delete things instead of help improve them. Not everything I said about NU Metal was opinion based. Next time, instead of reversing edits and deleting contributions by people, maybe you should contribute as well. That's how everything great ever came into existance. --75.139.103.133 (talk) 04:59, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok, First- I'm used to people hating Nu Metal. That's why. Secondly, it wasn't pure speculation. And I had more in my edit than the comeback of Nu Metal. I guess I'm just gonna have to round up all the Nu Metal bands myself and have them make the wikipedia entries. Which is going to cost roughly $3 million. Lol. I'm gonna cite my research a little more and take out speculations. But I don't want it to be reverted next time. Or I think I'm gonna have to do it the hard way, write a program that automatically edits the page every-time its changed, and switch through proxies. But I'd never take it that far. lol. I'll see what valid references I can find.--75.139.103.133 (talk) 22:36, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: this edit, yes, I'm inclined to agree. There's been a steady stream of (IP) editors adding Eurovision to the May section, when in fact the date is yet to be decided. I've reverted a few, and in the end I thought adding Eurovision to the "Unknown dates" section might keep the IP hoard at bay ;-) I'm still unconvinced that it should be included, though.

Matt Smith

I hadn't noticed the new news; been a busy day. But regardless, it was (a) unsourced (b) not relevant to the article on Matt Smith, at least in the current wording. Though I think that something like "as the Doctor, allongside such-and-such" would be a fitting way (if only that it would be a way to add another source as well as a wikilink to the costar). --Human.v2.0 (talk) 01:38, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Proposed major reforms to decade articles

Hi - I noticed you have contributed recently to one or more of the decade articles (1990s, 1960s etc). I am proposing some major changes to these articles, as I have outlined in Talk:1990s/Archives/2012#Suggested_reform_of_decade_articles, and I would be interested in hearing your views in the first instance. Thanks. Kransky (talk) 08:49, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions

We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Views/Day
Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians.
