youtube-dl is perfectly legal and OK.

Just wanted to note: youtube-dl is perfectly legal and a very awesome tool. It's like the Swiss army knife of video-downloading it can download from over a 100 sites!. Most people who sign up on Youtube click "I agree" to the copyright agreement, but if you don't read it, the license is invalid. You cannot really agree to anything unless you read it.

Most tools used to download videos from youtube are ad-ridden quick money grabs. Youtube-dl is a professional command line tool.

That is the difference.

I will improve the draft article and turn it into a real article. Google won't be able to do anything about this, unfortunately.

youtube-dl is very notable if we can write a million pages about obscure species of insects.

You can download videos of entire channels and stuff!
