February 2023[edit]

I have no idea what you expect me to put on my userid page. Please point me to the instructions for that. Dr.sliderule (talk) 20:47, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher)You don't have to put anything on your userpage. If you would like to put something there, WP:UPGOOD says, There is no fixed use for user pages, except that usually one's user page has something about oneself..Provided other users can quickly and easily find the pages they need, users may, within reason, freely organize their user pages as they choose. May 2023[edit]

I have put together a substantial biography of my professional (primarily academic professor at Columbia University) career with references. I am reluctant to put it up because everything I have put up in the past gets completely destroyed by people who have vested interests in promoting their own agendas. Any suggestions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr.sliderule (talkcontribs) 23:01, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) If you are reluctant to put it up because everything [you] have put up...gets completely destroyed, then why put it up? After all, an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. Please excuse the bluntness; based on past experience, better to give honest news the recipient doesn't want to hear than for them to be burned by false hope. If you do proceed: read carefully and follow the instructions at the edit request wizard. You would click the I have a conflict of interest button if writing about yourself.
Then, wait.
If the reviewing editor declines your suggestions, I would see what further information they seek. If there is no further feedback, you may have to explore other more suitable platforms for your autobiography. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 14:29, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
