Season colours

Hi User:Drovethrughosts, when 3 seasons of a series are released as one DVD and you have to take three season colours from one cover, do you use the most prominent colour for the first or most recent? I've got three hex codes from this cover [[1]] saved in my sandbox, but which order should the colours be used for 3 seasons? Thanks--Theo Mandela (talk) 23:14, 14 August 2017 (UTC)

@Theo Mandela: I honestly don't think it really matters, there's no science to it, just do whatever you think is best. If that DVD set is the only one available (no individual season releases), then just choose the three most prominent colors from it. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:27, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

DVD cover

Hi Drovethrughosts, on this season cover, [2], what colour would you use for a TV season infobox please?--Theo Mandela (talk) 23:13, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Here's a good tool to extract colors from images (I'm not sure if you're aware of it already). In my opinion, I'd go with a green as it appears to be the most prominent. Again, it's not a science, just pick what you feel is right. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:00, 23 August 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, won't ask again, got it now 👍--Theo Mandela (talk) 00:05, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
@Theo Mandela: No problem. But, if you ever have any other questions, feel free to ask, I'm always happy to help out! Drovethrughosts (talk) 12:25, 24 August 2017 (UTC)

The Deuce seen by some as perpetuating sexual objectification and violence against women

Hello, Drovethrughosts.

I'm curious why you removed my edit to The Deuces (TV Series) page in which I referenced the National Center on Sexual Exploitation's article, "HBO Continues Normalization of Sexual Violence with New Show, The Deuce." I see that you added "wp:npov" and so I am assuming that because the National Center on Sexual Exploitation has an admitted bias against pornography, you felt the article is therefore not an appropriate viewpoint. But, the Center's bias against pornography is based on research that pornography does, in fact, lead to objectification of and violence toward women. And, while the director of the series and several stars (including female stars) maintain that the series is somehow empowering women and forcing society to grapple with the topic of misogyny, there are others who strongly feel that the show, itself, furthers sexual objectification. It seems appropriate to have free and open discourse about such a serious topic. In light of the fact that no one can really have a purely neutral point of view, it seems a next-best option would be to provide multiple perspectives. --Sharongray99 (talk) 22:08, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

I still feel it's an WP:NPOV issue. I have to ask, are you involved in any way with the National Center on Sexual Exploitation? If so, that's a WP:COI issue. For example, it would appropriate to add this sort of information if it came from a noted TV critic/journalist who was critiquing the series. Also, if you wish, feel free to start a topic on the article's talk page so other editors may see. Thank you. Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:34, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

House of Cards images in season articles

I've replaced the promotional posters (3 of which you had uploaded yourself) in the HoC season articles with official Blu-ray covers, which i believe make it easier to select distinctive colors for each season. Do you agree it's better now or would you prefer it if we went back to using the posters? -- (Radiphus) 13:15, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

@Radiphus: Looks great! The poster art is just used for the Blu-ray cover art anyway, so it doesn't really matter. You've done the work, so it should stay. Thanks for the changes again, I remember when all the colors were just varying shades of black (so boring). Great job! Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:43, 25 September 2017 (UTC)
All right. -- (Radiphus) 14:47, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Outlander info

Why did you delate info? They are right!! Ely201093 (talk) 14:52, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Please provide a WP:RS. And read WP:V. Wikipedia is not a fansite, we don't add information that isn't verified by reliable sources. Thank you. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:54, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

I know how Wikipedia is. But my informtions are verified and you can find them in Wikiedia italia, Tv show time and other sites. I think is a rude behaviour to delete info, without verify they are correct. I didn't invent Anything!!!!! Ely201093 (talk) 15:03, 25 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi User:Drovethrughosts, do you know if AMC have released a poster yet for TWD s8 that could be added to the infobox please? I'm a bit surprised I can't find one since it's so close to airing.--Theo Mandela (talk) 00:13, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

@Theo Mandela: AMC has released posters for season 8, they're just not similar in size dimensions like the ones for previous seasons. There's the Comic-Con poster and more recently, the "official" one. After doing some more digging, I was able to find this, which is more "poster-like". Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:03, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for finding these Drovethrughosts, which one (if any) do you think is ok to use? If AMC calls the second one official then I would go for the last poster, even if it's only temporary, because it's the rightsized version for the infobox. I could ask User:Radiphus to find the colour that's not too close to the 1-5 ones, they all look like slightly different shades of the same colour.--Theo Mandela (talk) 16:17, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
@Theo Mandela: I went ahead and uploaded the image and updated the color. If a better image is revealed, we can always update it. Drovethrughosts (talk) 16:46, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
Great 👍,  #A4B0AA  could also be used if it works better with the other season colours.--Theo Mandela (talk) 17:07, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi User:Drovethrughosts, can you add in numbers to the column sizes on episode templates please? And do you know if there's any generator that will tell you what numbers to put in the columns? Thanks. Theo (edits) 23:46, 11 October 2017 (UTC)

@Theo Mandela: Is it so that all the columns will be matched up with one another? Honestly it'd be pretty difficult given the varying differences; for example, season 3 has a long list of writers, while season 2 doesn't. I personally never specify numbers, as the template auto adjusts based on the contents; however, if you do want uniformed column widths across multiple tables, you would have to specify numbers. I suggest testing it out in your sandbox. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:47, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
I thought it was important, didn't realise you didn't have to put the numbers in, cheers. Theo (edits) 15:21, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Date format

Could you please point me to where in the Manual of Style that the day must become before the month (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Les_Revenants_(TV_series)&diff=805651824&oldid=805641361)? I took a look and it says that both formats are acceptable. Don't really see a whole lot of reason to actually edit my citation. Rswallis10 (talk) 20:13, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

It's a French series so the article uses DMY formatting; it's simply for consistency. Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:15, 16 October 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia Guest Star Listings

Hi, Could you please explain why you don't list a guest star in a series episode and say you only list them if they are a "recurring" guest star? Seems odd. And if they become a "recurring guest star" in the future - do you then go back and add them? Just curious. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.16.239.243 (talk) 17:27, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

I'm assuming you're referring to the Supernatural (season 13) article regarding Seth Isaac Johnson? Generally, we stick to just listing recurring characters along with the main cast. We can't be listing every single guest star a series has, otherwise the list would be 100+ names long. We have to stick with what's notable, and one-episode guest stars are usually not notable unless it's a noted or famous actor. You can also look at WP:TVCAST for guidance. Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:36, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

AMC Visionaries

Hello again, DTG! Asking your opinion: Do you think any of the AMC Visionaries shows will be notable enough to warrant articles? It would require a process, I think. An AMC:V main page would need made, then the individual series pages. I'm a poor judge of foresight when it comes to such series, as I never thought Comic Book Men would endure. I know the AMC:V shows will be of a different cloth, hence, my arrival here. Regardless, I will be covered up in college basketball season articles for weeks, so I may not venture into the new TV articles. — Wyliepedia 11:40, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

I've never heard of this series, other than the Robert Kirkman one. I mean, if there's enough reliable sources and you're interested in doing the work, then why not? Though I imagine all the content that would be available would be an episode list and basic lead/infobox information. Plus, only the Kirkman one has aired, so might be a bit early. Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:42, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Louie Move

Hi, saw your technical request. Sorry I moved Louie (U.S. TV series), I wanted to distinguish between the French TV series and since they are in different countries, I thought it was best to distinguish. If you want to make a formal move request to move it back, I completely understand. Thank you. JE98 (talk) 15:47, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

I did request a move. There was a "no consensus" on a request move from last year, so I figured a new discussion along with a consensus for this change should be made first. Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:43, 10 November 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the AIV report

Sorry I didn't finish AN3. Work got in the way, and took a long time; by the time I got back, he'd joined the talk page, so I figured an AN3 report would go nowhere. I imagine we can expect the edit warring to resume tomorrow unless he finds DR; I've got what I did saved. We've given him the word in triplicate, so he should at least understand that his edits are not going to be met with agreement from others based on nothing more than his words. I don't doubt that the storyline for the actress made a course change (I thought her being credited as main cast seemed odd at the time), but that doesn't alter what's in the credits. Ah, well. ----Dr.Margi 17:07, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

No problem. Once they reverted again this morning, I had enough and reported it. It all comes down to actor credits, and she received opening credits billing; but some people are just going to be stubborn. Thanks for the help with the reverts. Drovethrughosts (talk) 17:18, 5 December 2017 (UTC)

Why did you reverted to incorrect dates for The Good Place Season 2?

Hello.

Why the dates for The Good Place Season 2 ware reverted to the old, incorrect dates starting from episode 3?

Hello. I'm sorry, but you're wrong. It was you who added the incorrect dates. I restored it back to the correct dates, to the dates that have been in the article ever since it was created. For example, the episode "Dance Dance Resolution" aired September 28, but you changed it to October 5, which is wrong, because that's when "Team Cockroach" aired. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:01, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Oh? Perhaps that website is wrong, since the NBC website, where the show actually aired, shows different dates: "NBC - The Good Place" and so does "IMDB" --Vanowm (talk) 00:13, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
You must still be confused, because the website doesn't show different dates, all the dates match their episode titles. The most recent episode, "Leap to Faith", aired January 4, 2018 (which matches the airdate listed on NBC.com), but you changed the airdate to read January 11, 2018 when you (incorrectly) changed all the air dates. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:22, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Oh, I see now what's wrong, the episode numbering at wiki doesn't match episode numbering at NBC. This messes up other website relying on wiki...Perhaps the description of 1 and 2 episodes should be combined with a notation regarding chapter 14 and 15. My editing was indeed incorrect. Sorry. --Vanowm (talk) 15:04, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Yes, Better Call Saul is a Sony-produced series made for AMC, however Netflix is joint commissioner of the show along with AMC. So that makes it a Netflix-owned series as well as an AMC-owned series. [1].[2] Optimistic Wikipedian (talk) 16:18, 18 February 2018 (UTC)

References

Hello, you've deleted a piece of information I recently have added to the article...I reckon the information is quite interesting, please, if you may, check again my last edit of the article. Thank you.Dovole (talk) 21:05, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi there. Your edit in question merely states the opening credits were created by "Elastic", which by itself, is fairly meaningless. The source you used talks about the credits for Masters of Sex, not The Americans. You also claimed that they created "the similar in spirit opening sequence" (referring to The Americans), but that isn't in the source. The article simply states that Elastic also created the credits for The Americans (among dozens of others); there's not much content or information to be gained from that. Take a look at what I did for the Masters of Sex article here, where I incorporated information from the source into the article. Simply stating the credit sequence was created by a company isn't particular notable. Now, if there's an article about the making of the credit sequence for The Americans, then that's information that could be added. Thanks. Drovethrughosts (talk) 21:33, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
I understand that may be considered "original source"... but actually, I found the article about the opening credits after someone had asked my if "Masters of Sex" sequence was created by the same artist as "The Amricans"...I found the resemblance quite trivial and obvious, especially as it turned out to be true(that it was the same studio)...I don't think the studio needs wikipedia as a prompter promoter, but it is mentioned in the article, and it is part of the artistic production, it has substantial content and quality, as the numerous articles about "best opening credits" somewhat apply.Dovole (talk) 12:24, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

Twin Peaks

I'm sure it keeps getting added because it's accurate. I would suggest either leaving it or removing the other alternate title. As it stands now, it makes the page seem incomplete. (Since the use of "Limited Event Series" on the DVD/Blu-ray set, soundtrack, etc. pretty much guarantees *that* will be the more common alternate title.) 128.151.71.16 (talk) 16:59, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Hey there Drovethrughosts, i noticed that you are a big fan of television. Better Call Saul summaries

Hey there Drovethrughosts, is it okay if you work on fixing the episode summaries on Better Call Saul for the second season, you're probably better at it then myself considering you spotted the minor mistakes i made. The Optimistic One (talk) 13:17, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

@The Optimistic One: Hi, I'll try and get to those. I just did the first half of season 1. Most of them were fine, mainly just the pilot summary needed some trimming, though episodes 7 to 10 will need to be condensed. And all season 2 episodes, expect the first two, will need to be trimmed as well. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:04, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, Can you tell me why you undid my edit? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/836615640

Counterpart is not a single camera production.

PaViRo (talk) 08:45, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Because your edit was incorrect. Multi-cam format is used exclusively for sitcoms like Seinfeld or modern series like The Big Bang Theory. No drama is shot multi-cam. Single-cam looks like a film, while multi-cam looks more like a play with fixed camera angles. Single-camera doesn't literally mean one camera, it refers to the shooting style. Hey there! Just letting you know that on IMDb, Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould are listed as writers for the first episode [3]. The Optimistic One (talk) 22:28, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

They're listed as writers for every episode because they're the creators, that's why it says "(created by)". Regardless, we don't use IMDB as a source anyway. Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:41, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

Update: Now, there's another AFC submission on the draft that i have placed. The draft, in my opinion, is solid enough to exist as an article. Let me know what you think. Thanks also for helping me out with this draft. The Optimistic One (talk) 22:17, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

How about this? Jimmy McGill now suspended from the field of law for a year has to cope with Chucks death. Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) doesn’t seem impressed with her ex-boss Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian). After the attempted murder of Hector Salamanca (Mark Margolis). Nacho Varga (Michael Mando) is now in Gus' (Giancarlo Esposito) bad books after the attempt to murder Hector without Gus' permission along with Mike. The Optimistic One (talk) 22:21, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

Update: I'm removing the AFC for now. Even though the draft is in a solid condition. I've decided to wait until the first few episodes come out. The Optimistic One (talk) 02:49, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

The article is definitely looking pretty solid. I'm thinking once we get closer to the premiere date, we'll have information on the first few episodes (to add to the episode list) and we'll be able to add a critical reception section. By then, it should be good to go. As for that blurb, some of it reads too much like a promo and is vague like "Kim doesn't seem impressed with Howard". This is simply EW writing their thoughts from the trailer, it's not a plot overview of the season. And the use of "bad books" is an WP:IDIOM, which we don't use. There's already a small plot blurb in the "Plot" section, that could just be moved to the lede instead. Drovethrughosts (talk) 12:14, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
Oh! I nearly forgot to tell you this; BCS airs in Ireland a day after it's US release. So i won't be able to edit the draft/page until a day after each episode airs to avoid spoilers. The Optimistic One (talk) 20:25, 8 July 2018 (UTC)

@The Optimistic One: Hi there! To be honest, I don't watch that much original Canadian TV. I do notice you have Trailer Park Boys listed on your user page, which is interesting since you're Irish (I believe). The Netflix seasons are fine, but those earlier seasons are just pure gold. Another good Canadian comedy I watch is Letterkenny, which has a very specific type of humor and delivery of its comedy. There's also Orphan Black, arguably one the most popular and acclaimed Canadian drama series, featuring amazing acting performances by its lead actress Tatiana Maslany, who has won an Emmy for her work. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:03, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I really like Trailer Park Boys, especially Bubbles. Yes I am indeed Irish. I feel that there are many similarities between the Irish and the Canadians in that we are both known for how kind and generous we are to others. Thanks for the advice, I have heard of Orphan Black before and will watch it soon but never have i heard of Letterkenny being a television show. There is a big town in County Donegal, Ireland called Letterkenny though. Perhaps the best Irish comedy show ever is Father Ted, winning several awards, it was made in the 90's and has aged very well. There's also a new comedy called The Young Offenders and it's very popular here in Ireland. As for action, Love/Hate is another very good Irish TV show based on Dublin's criminal background. Peacock words

Hi you recently reverted my edit on Fargo saying that critically acclaimed is not a peacock term whereas WP:PEACOCK specifically mentions acclaimed as being an example. I replaced the term with the details in the source used to back up this claim, Metacritic. I agree that this is not the be all and end all but it was an existing source I only added the link for the 3rd season as it was missing. Critically acclaimed could mean anything and is unverifiable whereas 89/100 on metacritic means exactly that and is backed up by the source. Dom from Paris (talk) 23:56, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Just a notice that I've created a draft that will eventually be moved to List of American Horror Story: Apocalypse characters, which you are welcome to edit in case you didn't know. Thank you TedEdwards 15:10, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Removal of credited cast members

I was wondering what standard do you use to unilaterally edit out entries of a credited cast member on television and film projects especially if the name of the actor appears in said production’ title or end credits? Actor07 (talk) 19:49, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

It has to do with notability, we can't be adding every single actor who appears in a film or TV series; we are not IMDB. An actor who plays "Police Officer 1" and "Man 2" are not notable roles. It's quite possible there's a WP:COI going on here, as your only edits are that of adding an unnotable actor to several articles. You were reverted by other editors on other articles, so I'm simply followed suit, and this kind of editing is disruptive and possibly promotional. Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:26, 29 September 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it. Actor07 (talk) 03:14, 30 September 2018 (UTC)

Hey there! Thanks for explaining. I agree that it´s sort of unsourced in the way that there isn't a reference to the source. But that is because it is said on the DVD itself in a bonus episode. So how would you source that? Thanks. (I'm not saying it should be there, but for the future if something like this comes up again) Faex06 (talk) 12:41, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

@Faex06: I have both season 1 and the special edition of season 1 on DVD, can you point me to where this is said on the DVDs? There is an alternate ending, but I don't see another alternate ending. I can possibly add some of this information back, I just need to know where it can be found on the DVDs. Thanks. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:06, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
@Drovethrughosts: On the DVD itself are indeed two endings. The one that was aired and the bonus one that Teri gets shot but still lives. If I remember it correctly there isn't a third one but I remember vaguely that they only spoke about it. And with that, I'm referring to the bonus episode on the bonus dvd of season 1. On that bonus dvd there is an episode called 24 Legacy and the directors, writers and Kiefer get to speak. Somewhere in that episode they mention the alternate endings that if she lives if would be too happy and this ending (Teri getting shot and not surviving) would be more fitting for 24 because that means that everything can happen in 24. (This last sentence are almost the exact words that Kiefer or the director/writer said). Faex06 (talk) 08:41, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
@Faex06: The only alternate ending is the one where she lives. The one where she gets shot but still lives is only mentioned on the DVD (I believe in one of the audio commentaries). The featurette you're referring to is "The Genesis of 24", where they do talk about it. If any content is added, it's probably more appropriate under the "Production" section, where the alternate endings are also mentioned. I'll try and add something about it. Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:12, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

A question?

Hey Alex! Been awhile since we last had a chat, anyway just wondering what do you think of Sunday nights episode of TWD? Was it a good send-off for Rick? The Optimistic One (talk) 02:19, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

@The Optimistic One: I definitely liked it! This season has been a nice uptick in quality, especially after seasons 7 and 8 which were fairly poor. I'm back to actually enjoying watching the show again, which is a great feeling! I was expecting Rick was just going to die, so the ending was definitely a surprise. I'm happy they just didn't kill him, and I'm looking forward to the movies that will continue his story. Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:18, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
I thought it was a great episode! I totally agree with you, tis season (so far) is the best one the show has had yet, I didn't like Seasons 7 & 8 either (I actually don't know which one is worse), and I didn't like season 6 as well, although it's better than 7 & 8, it just didn't work out well for me. I enjoyed Shane and Sasha's return but Hershel's scene for me was very emotional, especially since Scott Wilson died last month. I also thought Rick would die, so the ending had me really surprised. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season as well as the movies. The Optimistic One (talk) 23:44, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Reverts

Those revisions of pages just creates whitespace at the top of each page it's on, which isn't needed. The Optimistic One (talk) 00:27, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

@The Optimistic One: What's causing the whitespace issue is the merger template above the infobox, which is conflicting with the display title. If you move it to the bottom of the article, there is no problem. Using display titles are perfectly valid to display series names in italics per the instructions of the template. I will be restoring them, but moving them to the bottom of the article. Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:32, 4 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. adding citations

Hi, Drovethrughosts, and thanks for your work on the Altered Carbon page.

Just want to pop by to say that I might disappoint you in that if you believe it is better to not add citations at all than to add bare ones, I'm afraid I disagree. I am of the opinion that adding the burden of "full proper ones" will only drive away editors from contributing to Wikipedia, and that bare URLs are much better than no citations at all.

Hope we can cooperate in the future regardless and that you can appreciate my efforts despite our different priorities on this particular matter. Best Regards, CapnZapp (talk) 11:51, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

@CapnZapp: Hi. I never said it's better to not have at citations at all. I simply requested that if you're going to add citations, please put in the effort to add full citations (it takes 30-40 seconds?). I expect bare citations from IP editors, not generally from someone's who been here for over 10 years. Bare URLs lead to WP:LINKROT and it's why we have maintenance templates to cleanup bare URLs. While I have not read WP:CITE (a WP guideline) in its entirety, I have hard time believing it encourages adding bare URLs as references. Now, please, do not take my words in a negative/angry manner. Seriously, add all the bare URLs you want, I'll clean them up every time. :) Drovethrughosts (talk) 20:51, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

Television enjoyments

You and I have very, very similar show preferences. My top three are Breaking Bad, Lost, and Dexter, but others in my top ten would have to be 24, Pushing Daisies, and Buffy/Angel. I also have loved a great many others on your list...and so, three strong suggestions I have, that are absent from your list, would Once Upon a Time (IMO, "Lost" with Fairy Tales), The Knick, and Weeds. Weeds is my 4th favorite show of all time. Apologies for not logging in... I have forgotten my password again and that was on my second account, too (remade an account since I forgot the pass to my FIRST/ORIGINAL one). Not wanting to make a third and not the type to edit Wikipedia enough for one, anyway, I figured I'd leave this one with just an IP address. 2600:8800:8D00:70A:A56D:7147:E491:D7E2 (talk) 05:15, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

IP adding series count parameter to Chernobyl (miniseries)

I finally reached my limited with the Australian IP repeatedly adding the num_series parameter on Chernobyl (miniseries) and put a warning on his talk page. If he/she does it again, we need to either get the page semi'd or get him/her blocked for disruptive editing. Hopefully, the warning, which explains why we don't use the parameter will do the job and/or the IP will use the talk page. We shall see. ----Dr.Margi 23:06, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Please also explain why a CheckUser is necessary. Thanks, MrClog (talk) 10:36, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

So this user appears to have a tremendous knowledge of the more technical aspects of Wikipedia editing, tables, styles etc, right from the get go. Makes me suspicious that they are not a new account. You're a frequent on more TV articles than myself, do you have any thoughts on this? Canterbury Tail talk 17:36, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

@Canterbury Tail: Plenty of new users love adding these cast tables to articles that focus on minutia such as cast billings, that they can use colors on. These tables are no different than the cast list, except they put more focus on "this actor is recurring this season, then they're main cast". I guess certain personality types get obsessed with tables and like organizing things in certain ways. These tables are really only beneficial when they're for shows with 10+ seasons and have dozens and dozens of cast changes all the time, e.g. NCIS, CSI, Law & Order, etc. I wouldn't really be suspicious really, it's easy to copy-and-paste another table from a different article and swap out the info. Also, thanks for removing the even more egregious cast table for recurring characters (yikes!), as I didn't even notice it. Drovethrughosts (talk) 21:05, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

wait- are we doing formal or common? –xenotalk 19:06, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
That was Joeyconnick who made that change with this edit regarding that character. My assumption is that we should just use common names, meaning whatever names the characters are most often referred to as; sometimes it's their formal name and sometimes it's a nickname. For Roberta Draper, her common name would actually be Bobbie because that's what she is mostly often called ([5][6]). If you want, start a talk page discussion on the article's talk page. Thanks. Regarding your request. Though I did the semiprotection, if the actual dispute is whether the show had 52 or 53 episodes, you might consider posting at Talk:The Good Place to explain the rationale for the way it is now. Answer

Hi, Drovethrughosts. Yes, those were my edits. Whenever he created something, I have to always rewrite it and clean up in order to make it gramatically correct as much as possible. It's nothing like something serious, it's just very annoying. If you want to solve this problem now, then I think it will be the best time. Tobi999tomas (talk) 14:13, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

@Tobi999tomas: Are you willing to provide links to these edits where you have had to do this? The fact is, other editors shouldn't have to clean-up after another editor in every single instance. Of course, people make mistakes, the odd spelling or grammar error. But it's clear English is not their first language and it's kinda wreaking havoc on the various TWD articles with their grammar messes. They were warned about using incorrect gender pronouns almost two years ago (via their talk page), but they still make this mistake. Any examples you can provide would be great, because reporting someone for competence issues is a tricky line, but I feel it's warranted given their repeat behavior. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:19, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
@Drovethrughosts: Well, there are a lot of it. I think the biggest example is that when article of Season 10 of TWD was created, I was the one who fixed and clean up the grammar issue of Tia Canita. But mostly, what I fixed was the main character's pages. Any character (or the main cast) that was promoted since Season 9, those are the pages that I had to clean up. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 14:26, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
@Tobi999tomas: If you're able to supply specific diffs of edits you've had to make as examples, that would be great. I can also look myself. I don't have time today, but I might try and file a report tomorrow about this. Thanks again. Drovethrughosts (talk) 14:34, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

When I go to watch on the HBO app, the title is "You're Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About", yet some places on the site and early previews have the title "You're Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About Mickey". There is also this HBO source, where the URL includes "mickey" yet it is removed from the title on the site. I think what is going on here is that the title was officially updated, but they neglected to update every instance of it on the internet. I could see why they wouldn't want to change a URL, though.

Another reason this seems like the case is simply because the punchline of the episode is "You're not going to get me to say anything bad about Larry" and omitting the name from the title arguably makes more sense. Don't you think we should update the title but include a note about the Mickey version of the title? Hylian pi (talk) 21:41, 13 March 2020 (UTC)

Mad Men cast listing

Alison Brie who plays the wife, Trudy, of Pete Campbell a lead on the series' wife who is in 38 episodes deserves to be in the Mad Men cast section. Drovethrughosts I honestly don't understand your thought process for the cast listing, you have Maggie Siff added but not Brie? Siff I don't believe was ever a regular cast member, and she's only in 15 episodes compared to Brie's 38 episodes. Also you have guest characters who only appear in a season of two that aren't well known. The cast list isn't alphabetical, or any order that I can identify, looks random. Could you explain, and add Brie. The One I Left (talk) 16:50, 17 April 2020 (UTC)

I suggest reading MOS:TVCAST. It's not my thought process, it's how it's done on Wikipedia. The cast list in the infobox is for starring cast members–actors credited in the opening credits who are billed as "starring". Episode count or implied importance does not factor into this, otherwise that leads to WP:OR. Brie appeared in more episodes than Siff, but Siff was billed as a regular for season 1, and Brie was never a regular, she was always credited as a guest star. The order is based on billing order of when they joined the main cast, not alphabetical or by episode count or any other measure. I hope you can understand this. Thank you. The Walking Dead

Hello, user Drovethrughosts. We had a problem here. Me and another user Alex21 have argued about the situation about the tenth season. Should be the final episode still be as the 16th episode and the season finale or not? He argued about that AMC already said that the season is over, so the finale is not part of the season anymore. In my opinion, when they literally said on the website for The Walking Dead on AMC that "Season Finale Later This Year", then it's still part of the season and that means the fifteenth episode is not concluded the season. What is your opinion about this? Thank you for the answer. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 09:58, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Discussion: User talk:Tobi999tomas#Walking Dead. Quote: "so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5". @Tobi999tomas:, if you're going to post to user talk pages, do so properly. -- /Alex/21 10:04, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Game of Thrones review

Hey Drovethrughosts, hope you are well. I have been working on the Game of Thrones in hopes of bringing it to WP:FAC in the future. I see that you are one of the top editors so you have a good idea of the content and structure of the article. I'm just messaging you to see if you see any major issues with the current article and see if you have any suggestions/improvements. Thank you! -- LuK3 (Talk) 16:19, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

@LuK3: First of all, thanks for your improvements to the articles! There's nothing I can think of right now for improvements, as the article is quite massive but I think it's in top shape–there's no clean-up or maintenance tags for example. I would suggest posting on a notice on the talk page for the article itself to get the attention of other editors. If there is an FA review in the future, I will gladly help out! Good luck! Drovethrughosts (talk) 18:00, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
Appreciate the reply! I have a peer review open but nothing extremely in-depth as of now. I'll continue to do some improvements. Thanks again! -- LuK3 (Talk) 18:11, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Mr. Robot

Hello. You just reverted my edit on Mr. Robot. Although I understand your explanation I believe you did so for a subjective reason and not one that violated anything on Wikipedia or was incorrect. More so I believe it was correct to note who plays who in the cast section. It didn't go into a description. It simply stated who an actor portrayed, which is the exact purpose of a cast section. I've added it as a topic on the talk page of Mr. Robot. Hopefully we can discuss it more on there. Thank you. Samurai Kung fu Cowboy (talk) 16:36, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment. I have left a message on the Mr. Robot talk page. Cheers. Drovethrughosts (talk) 16:46, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Fargo 3

Imagine if I start arguing with you. I can tell you that I am now seeing Fargo 3, and if Yuri speaks in a scene in the first six episodes and too much. Kasper2006 (talk) 13:30, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you're trying to say... but the actor Goran Bogdan who plays Yuri Gurka is credited under the "starring" billing block in the end credits, which makes him main cast. Credits determine who is main cast, not personal opinions of the viewer. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:49, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

Recent edit conflict for The Good Place

Recently, it seems like you've been one of the editors working to stop vandalism by an unregistered user on The Good Place and related articles. I've also been trying to get the user to use the talk page, but it doesn't seem to be working. Do you think we need to take another step and either protect the page or discuss a partial block? I don't have any real experience with edit warring, so I'm really not sure what the best approach would be. Thanks! RunningTiger123 (talk) 01:36, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

@RunningTiger123: We could either get the pages protected or report the IP for editing warring against consensus/3RR/refusal to use talk pages. We had to have the articles protected back in January and February of this year when a user by the name User:Goodplacefreak20 (blocked for socking/edit warring) was doing the same thing. I would be surprised if this wasn't the same person. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:16, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

My grammar in Alaska

Hello, how about the episode Alaska, can you help to summarize and improve the plot a bit please? Greets. Tia Canita (talk) 10:36, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Christine Evangelista

Hello, I just want to ask what is your opinion about her uncredited role in the finale of season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead? Should we count it? I mean, we never ever count uncredited role in the TV series and add it to the count. It is the same situation with Ryan Hurst. Officially, it is not a guest role. So can you do something to protect the page before any random smartasses add it back again? Cause I do not want to be charged for edit warring. Thanks. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 22:27, 5 November 2020 (UTC)

@Tobi999tomas: At first I thought the IP was correct, it's why I never reverted it myself and why I added this source to support her cameo. However, per Evangelista, she states "I think it was my voice, but it wasn't my voice if that makes sense" and "but that wasn't technically my voice". I'm assuming she means the voice is Sherry's, but not the actual actress. I believe we can leave it out. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:52, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
I understand, but we never added uncredited guests before, so why should we now? We always add the actors/actresses when they officially appeared on-screen. We should stick to the consistency of it. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 13:59, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Maybe you misread me. I agree with you, it should be left out, because per the actress, it wasn't actually her voice. Drovethrughosts (talk) 15:51, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Oh sorry for misreading, but we still need to add protection to the page to prevent like protection in The Walking Dead page. --Tobi999tomas (talk) 17:43, 6 November 2020 (UTC)

The Walking Dead (video game series)

Hello, do you know what could be causing the series overview table to be so narrow in comparison to the one on the List of The Walking Dead episodes page? 2A02:C7F:3846:4500:15A2:2204:4F05:E217 (talk) 22:37, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

The table at The Walking Dead (video game series)#Series overview looks fine to me and appears exactly the same as the one at List of The Walking Dead episodes#Series overview. Both overview tables use the same code so there's no reason why they should appear different. Drovethrughosts (talk) 22:43, 18 November 2020 (UTC)

Really? There must be an error in code somewhere because the colors used to represent the seasons are much narrower on the game series' table. 2A02:C7F:3846:4500:15A2:2204:4F05:E217 (talk) 22:55, 18 November 2020 (UTC)
