Unnecessary creation of duplicate articles[edit]

RE: Your creation of Impossible Mission (game) in September 2006; an article about this game has existed on Wikipedia since March 2005, under the title of Impossible Mission (unsurprisingly). In future, please use the search function to see if a relevant article already exists before attempting to create a new article. 172.200.237.248 02:49, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Steve Elson[edit]

Hi Dufflaboy, no problem. I deleted it under criterion A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion; I felt that it did not adequately assert notability for the subject. It just stated that he was in a Rolling Stones cover band, and did not assert that he was widely known. However, it wasn't as easy a call as some are, so I'd be willing to discuss it further. Basically, if you're interested in rewriting the article so that it will be kept, all you need to do is assert a reason why the subject is notable (you can see WP:MUSIC or WP:BIO for ideas of what count as notability criteria for musicians and people respectively). If you'd like to work on the article, I'd suggest working on it in your userspace, e.g. on a subpage like User:Duffaboy/Steve Elson. That way, you can consult with others about whether they think the article adequately asserts notability. If you want, I can undelete the article and move it to your userspace if you want to go that route. You should also note that as a biography of a living person, it's uber important that all info that's even the slightest bit potentially controversial needs to be well-sourced to a reliable source. Leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or want to discuss anything. delldot talk 19:42, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Bewitched (VIC-20 game), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please update your status with WP:VG[edit]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Hello Duffaboy, I'm sorry to have to nominate Menace for deletion, I spent many a happy hour playing the game during my youth. Unfortunately there aren't any sources available to build the article with, even World of Spectrum has no magazine articles listed, so I can see nothing else to do with it.
