Hi, ESBPGEN. As a fellow Irishman, I am more than acquainted with the Electricity Supply Board, the ESB. Given the experience which you mentioned in the Teahouse in relation to Turlough Hill, I would assume that you work for or are in some fashion associated with the ESB. As such, if the ESB in your name refers to the organisation, I would kindly ask that you review the username policy, particularly in regards to companies. Similarly, you may have a conflict of interest that must be disclosed. I could be entirely off base here, but if I am not, please review the policies I have mentioned and take action accordingly. Your username (REPLY)[edit]

Hi Stormy clouds I do not represent ESB and do not work for their PR department nor for any other section that represents ESB to the public in any way or capacity.
ESB and PGEN are IT terms, the first is a service and the second is a module in a computer language (Python). I chose it out of humour as 35 years ago when first out of college I worked in the hydro electric generation area for ESB. As I have been in the IT area for 30 years when I was trying to think of a Username this struck me as apt (and funny).

I worked in Turlough Hill and have spent a lot of time since the late 70's gathering information on it and other hydro electric schemes in Ireland from a historic point of view.

I will again review the username policy to see if it is an issue.

Could I ask if you have any opinion or advice around the wiki entry for Turlough Hill? It has been a bug bear for many years and given the historical factor the error is something I do not want to see and should not be propagated. However I understand that perhaps Wikipedia should not be viewed as a source of fact and that I should just leave the error alone?? Would welcome advice/opinion. Thanks for clarifying, ESBPGEN. In relation to Turlough Hill, I do not know much about the hill itself, but can refer you to Wikipedia policy to explain the name. We operate under a policy of using the common name for article titles. This is why Bono has his article at Bono, and not Paul Hewson, his real name (even though official government documents would call him Paul Hewson). Similarly, if many people (particularly reliable sources, refer to the hill as "Turlough Hill", that will be the title, regardless of official government names. Sources seem split on the name here, with Google Maps (just for instance) referring to the hill as Turlough Hill. At present, Tomaneena is a redirect to Turlough Hill, so people using that as a search term will find the article. If you are still aggrieved by this, you can always request a move on the talk page of the article and invite people to comment, or ask the opinion of WP:WikiProject Ireland on the matter. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Turlough Hill Hydro Electric Scheme.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Turlough Hill Hydro Electric Scheme.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. File permission problem with File:Ariel view of Turlough Hill's Upper and Lower lakes.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ariel view of Turlough Hill's Upper and Lower lakes.jpg, which you've attributed to ESB. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

Please remove this photo as although I have used it legitimately I now have enough examples of errors on Wikipedia that seem to be propagated by an intrinsic inability to provide for corrections that we no longer have an interest in this article.
