Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Alan Tam appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Pandacomics (talk) 13:52, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Bias"[edit]

Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms#Don't peacock your facts:

Avoid drumming up interest in facts or trivia by tagging them with editorial remarks. For example, it is unhelpful to prefix a fact or historical development with comments like "interestingly," "ironically," "surprisingly," or "It should be noted" and the like. Stick to the facts and report them without the commentary; this allows the reader to decide what to find interesting, ironic, or surprising.

  • Fact: Titanic is a movie starring Leonardo di Caprio and Kate Winslet.
  • It's a fact because those two really did star in the movie.
  • Opinion: Titanic was an immensely well-known and entertaining film.
  • It's an opinion because not everyone has heard of it (infants, for example) and not everyone thought the movie was entertaining.

Just something for you to think about before "removing" bias. Pandacomics (talk) 03:01, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Alan Tam. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Pandacomics (talk) 03:10, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. I've moved your question to the bottom of the list. the top "references" section is to allow inline references used in discussion to be visible to editors. the discussion is here. Protonk (talk) 02:33, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
