Deana Carter

Father Christmas is a studio album, it is considered to be her third studio album so relocating it to a "Holiday" subsection not only takes up more room, but it messes up her info. I'm Just a Girl isn't her third studio album, it was Father Christmas. But if you take it out, the order is off. Also, the live album and the greatest hits album don't need to be broken off into seperate groups either. It'd be different if she had like 3 GHs albums and like 5 live albums or something. I see you are reverting some things in The Climb and I have to say that if there was a source for the Canadian country chart it would stay, but there is no source. Plus, the AC chart is airplay and per WP:CHARTS airpaly charts should not be in tables. You said its always there, but how many of those articles are GA or FA? Please leave that alone. The statement from RCA Records is from a little over a week ago, and in that time I think that things may have changed. MusicRow is reporting that "It's Only" will be released in December, and there's nothing on the other song. RCA Records said the other single would be released soon, but no date has come up other than the one for "It's Only" -- and MusicRow is like Billboard, but for country releases... its pretty official and up-to-date is all I'm sayin'. I'm not going to get into an edit war on this. I am well aware that RIAA will state "Multi-Platinum" for any album that is certified 2-plus times platinum on their site. In fact, the RIAA site actually states "MULTI-PLATINUM". If your reasoning is that "The RIAA uses it" then it'll have to be put in as all capitals here on wiki, you can't pick and choose what you want and what you don't. The "multi" terminology is redundant and grammatically incorrect. You don't put "10 multi-gallons" of gas into your car. I'm prepared to be polite about this FOR NOW, but it was actually you who started reverting a few weeks ago. The article was fine until then, though the addition of your sources for various charts was useful. Okay:

1) As the TFF discography is merely an extension of the main TFF article page, it is not necessary to include a lengthy intro as this is essentially repeating information in the main TFF article and is detailed in the discography itself. In the intro, it is only necessary to state whose/what the discography is. Furthermore, the current longer intro is full of mistakes.

2) Date formats are different for various countries in the world, like spelling. As far as Wikipedia articles go, the native country of the article subject should be adhered to. TFF are a British band. The accepted date format for the UK is day-month-year.

3) Your edit also gives a US bias to the record labels the band were signed to. My edit lists both UK and US labels, or at least the wider corporation they belong to. Gut Records and New Door Records are totally separate entities though.

4) Billboard component charts (such as Dance, R&B, Modern Rock Chart, etc) should not be listed as per WP:MUSTARD unless the single/album failed to chart on the main Billboard chart. The only two singles that this seems to apply to are Laid So Low and Call Me Mellow, but rather than create two whole columns just for two singles, I have added footnotes to establish this. The inclusion of so many Billboard chart columns only takes up more room at the expense of charts from other countries.

Re: your response -

1) Discographies are subpages, and subpages (as their name suggests) do not require masses of information to be repeated from their parent article page, especially when its something that can clearly be seen by reading the list or the infobox. Some editors do it, some don't, and what makes a "featured" list is basically a matter of taste. What's important to remember though is that a successful list is about the list itself and not about transplanting lots of unnecessary artist information from their main article pages. The Lightning Bolt discography, Aesop Rock discography, and Sugababes discography are also featured lists but their intros are relatively brief.

Aside from being unnecessary, the reason I deleted the long intro is because a lot of the information is either incorrect or too US-biased. Though they had success in the US, TFF are not a US band and have had success all over the world. I would be happy to reach a compromise on this and write a concise paragraph of around 10 lines that describes what the list is and offers details that enhances the discography rather than just reiterates it. That would make the best lead.

3) Agreed.

4) Modern Rock Tracks, Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, and AC Tracks are all components of the Hot 100 Airplay, which itself is a component of the Billboard Hot 100. Sorry, but I made a mis-edit and didn't mean to include genre charts like Dance and R&B in this context. However, problems and discussions surrounding the Billboard charts (and their many components or genre charts) never end on Wikipedia and consensus tends to last for about 10 minutes. To complicate matters further, what guidelines there are seemed to be aimed more at individual singles articles (where charts are listed vertically in a table) rather than full artist discography tables (where various charts are listed horizontally). In a full discography table for an international band like TFF, it would be more appropriate to use only the main Billboard Hot 100 chart (listed as "U.S."), and list the various secondary/genre charts on the song article pages themselves (because that kind of page allows you to go into more detail). However, using them in this kind of full discography table only takes up room unnecessarily and limits the number of charts from other countries we can include before the table becomes a mess. In order to accomodate five different Billboard charts, you have had to delete South Africa and four European countries (bear in mind TFF are from Europe!). According to Wikipedia:Albums#Reception, the "reviews" field is no longer supposed to be used in the album infobox, and reviews are supposed to be summarized in a "Reception" section. Jimmy Buffett discography

Thank you for your contribution to Buffett's discography (singles section), but I'm afraid I had to revert your edits once again. From all the sources I've gathered, Buffett is credited as "with" — not "guest" — on both "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" and Alan Jackson's cover single "Margaritaville". Specifically, the credits show (at least in the sources I've found) (with Jimmy Buffett), NOT (with special guest Jimmy Buffett) or (guest starring Jimmy Buffett) or even (featuring Jimmy Buffett). Until you find a source that either says that Buffett is specifically a guest star OR a source that says with = guest star, your edits will continue to be reverted.

Also, "Summerzcool" was released as a single in January 2009, while Buffet Hotel wasn't released until November 2009. Buffett also mentioned he was "in the studio recording (Buffet Hotel)" months after "Summerzcool" was released. If the song appeared on the album before it was released as a single, then we can include the album. But the song was a single months before the remainder of the album was even recorded (or possibly even written). Therefore, it's classified as a "single only".

I have heard of "God Bless the USA" before and I was in New York City when he performed the song right after 9/11 attacks happened. I had a lot of respect for him afterwords. Its not the record label's fault that Miranda Lambert didn't make it to #1 on Billboard (because it had a lot of momentum going for it), but Jason Aldean blocked it from #1 and sitting at #2 is a bad place to be. I'm really upset that she didn't make it to #1, too. Lol; it did reach #1 on Mediabase though, which the label will consider as a "Number one hit" in press releases and the like. Speedy deletion

Hit there, don't forget that when you tag pages for speedy deletion that are attacks against someone or contain disparaging material against someone, (like Jon South) it's a good idea to also blank the content so it's not visible in the time between you tagging it and it getting deleted. Lyrics

Wikipedia:Lyrics and poetry is a page that explains why you generally shouldn't quote the lyrics; even in small amounts, it can be a copyright violation. An exception would be if there is a cited thing about a particular lyric — for example, "Music critic x disliked the lyric in which the singer said blah blah blah." or "At the artist's request, writer x changed the second verse to include the line blah blah blah." • No, it should be kept. He's not that far along, and that song is his only hit on several charts, so we might as well leave the Pop 100 peak as is. If... er, when Groovy Little Summer Song cracks the Hot 100/CAN Country charts, then we can add a footnote for JGSLY peaking on the now defunct Pop 100.
