You are quite correct that "Like most columnists, ..." is too broad. What I meant to write was "Like most political columnists, ...". (Do-oh!) What do you think about putting the 4-word version into the article? Cheers, CWC 09:59, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggesting that "most" members of any group do something really requires evidence. Your state may be true, but Wikipedia is about verifiable facts. Suggesting that a person or a group of people is guilty of "biased reporting and misrepresenting facts" needs a reference.

There are references for David Frum specifically. If you could find some sort of survey or study of political columnists in general, then the statement might be appropriate.

Oops! I didn't mean that most political columnists are guilty of those things, just that most get accused of those things. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

About talk pages: the old system was to post each message on the recipient's talk page. Nowadays, many people prefer to keep the whole conversation on one page, because that's easier for third parties to follow (and the participants, once a month or two has passed). Those of us who do that tend to put a notice at the top of our talk pages. Click on "CWC" to see mine; visit User talk:Lar and search for "Note:" to see a better explanation.

Another hint: Putting one or more colons at the start of a line indents that line/paragraph. Indenting your response to someone helps make it easy to see the boundaries between messages. Cheers, CWC 16:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, I should have read more carefully. I still think that the statement that most political columnists have been accused of biased reporting and misrepresenting facts requires verifiability.
