Re: anon on my talk page[edit]

No, that's fine, go right ahead. What on God's green earth was he talking about, anyway? I've never edited anything to do with Bosnia, Herzegovina (sp?), or any country at all, not even to revert vandalism, I don't believe. Confusing. Hermione1980 22:24, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting list of villains[edit]

Hey, Evilphoenix. Before the recent explosive arrival of T-man, the Wise Scarecrow, Turnstep and I were pretty much agreed on splitting List of villains into List of fictional villains and List of historical people portrayed as villains (or something with a better name — List of historical villains and List of non-fictional villains are problematic, because we don't want to make the judgement that they're villains, just report that they were portrayed that way.) Could you head over to Talk:List of villains and weigh in on whether this split would be a good thing for the page? Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 03:50, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hey![edit]

haven't seen you in a bit on IRC, how've you been? --негіднийлють (Reply|Spam Me!*) 06:08, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm good, busy and working a lot, so I don't hop on IRC much. Man your sig is like, practically indecipherable. So how much longer till you have three months on the wiki? Ëvilphoenix Burn! 06:59, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
6 more weeks, I think... if Kate's tool was working today, I'd think that I finally hit 1000 edits :P (my sig is Ukranian for "Vile" "Rage" --негіднийлють (Reply|Spam Me!*) 07:01, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I actually archived today, and this thread almost went! I've actually been on IRC on occasion recently, even popped on today in search of an Arbitrator, which I did find, fortunately. My problem is I get too sucked in to vandal-bopping when I'm on there, and I just have other things I want to work on. Plus I've found myself "mediating" (or whatever it is I'm doing) a lot recently, and have actually been doing a little article contribution (shock!). That and trying to finally finish the Original Campaign of NwN. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 02:06, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Shocking indeed! Ya, I've seen you about, doing stuff ;] I actually wrote my first two articles last month ;] (Hi-Point Firearms and APDD, both DYK'ed). A quick question[edit]

Hey, I just wanted to ask a quick question as I'm not sure what to do. I came across an article (Naz Burger) that seems totally unencylopaedic, I could only find one reference to this place on Google, and even if it's a real restaurant the article is very badly written. What should I do with/to this article? Should it be deleted? If so, how? Otherwise, is there a place to ask for someone who might know more about this place to fix the article? Sorry, that question wasn't quick at all : ) Becksy 10:29, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Of course. Check out Cleanup Resources and Articles for Deletion. Also feel free to familiarize yourself with Speedy deletion, but in my opinion this particular article is not a speedy candidate. Do carry on! Ëvilphoenix Burn! 19:36, 29 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like things have quieted down at these articles-- sorry I didn't see this sooner. Let me know if problems resurface. -- Mwanner | Talk 00:31, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, it looks like things are okay now. Let me know if you need any more feedback on this. --Deathphoenix 14:59, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Straw poll at List of villains[edit]

Hey, Phoenix. (Hope you don't mind me dropping the "Evil".)

We've had a bit of trouble over at List of villains with an anon (213.114.215.199 who keeps reverting the page back to the old, alphabetical format, without comment. (He's done similar things before, as you can see on his talk page.) Rather than being adversarial about it, however, I started thinking that maybe the consensus to move towards organizing the list by medium of first appearance wasn't clear enough. To make it clearer, I decided to hold a straw poll. I'd appreciate your input, since you helped us move forward before. Thanks! —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 01:57, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mistook the templating for a blanking. By the time I realised I'd screwed up, you'd fixed it. —Matthew Brown (T:C) 04:11, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This was not an orphaned image as it is linked to Chemical_Galaxy. - RoyBoy 800 05:09, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You're absolutely correct. I deleted it because it was uploaded by Scottfisher (talk · contribs), who has previously lied when using the pd-self template, and therefore I feel that we cannot know which of his uploads are potential copyright issues or not, and therefore I feel we can't afford to keep any images that he has uploaded. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:11, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded it, not Scottfisher. - RoyBoy 800 00:13, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh. Pardon me, I got confused. The image you were questioning me about was deleted on October 16th. I had earlier yesterday deleted a large group of images, having not deleted any images in a while, so I assumed the image you were asking about was one of those images. Currently, and I assume at the time I deleted the image, there were not in fact any links to that image. If you uploaded the image yourself, I'd encourage you to re-submit the image and link it to Chemical Galaxy. Best regards, Ëvilphoenix Burn! 01:27, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Coo, I'll do a restore and put a better fairuse excuse up. - RoyBoy 800 04:47, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up, I'll deal with Roomba. I don't want to use the image quite yet as the size of the article would make it difficult to put it in, but it is linked. Something will have to give. - RoyBoy 800 20:19, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure where you got 2004 from, but it was restored/updated by Philip Stewart around then. And just to clarify, the 2004 version is used, the 1951 version is linked. - RoyBoy 800 20:48, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

POTW sockpuppet[edit]

I marked 81.5.140.5 as a sockpuppet of Pigsonthewing. I notice you created the category to hold suspected sockpuppets of him, so I assume you were interested in keeping track of any IP's he used. As I really would rather not get any more involved in this than I am already, I thought I'd bring it to your attention that The wub blanked the user page, removing the {{sockpuppet}} tag from that page (which in effect removed the account from Category:Wikipedia:Suspected_sockpuppets_of_Pigsonthewing). —Locke Cole 23:37, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, it's not that big a deal, I'm not going to really worry about it unless he goes around creating sockpuppets, which so far he has not done. He's also pursued other banned user's Sockpuppet's pretty aggresively, so I imagine he knows that any sockpuppetry on his part would A. be a bad idea and B. get squelched pretty fast. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 01:29, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
k, just wanted to make you aware in case he did decide to go that route. Especially since his Arbitration is closing. —Locke Cole 01:38, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Rest assured, there's plenty of people keeping an eye on him. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 01:39, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User:CosmicCastaway[edit]

I'd rather not say, considering it doesn't matter that much anymore, and it's up to him/her to reveal private stuff like that. Wait...thats not exactly what i mean. What i mean is that i think i should ask that person if they are fine with me talking about them first. Of course though, it doesn't really matter much anymore in any case. Hmm...oh, and i don't think he/she will be much of a bother as of now (though i might be wrong). Does that help? Or not? --Quadraxis 02:26, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What motivated you to edit their user page? That's an unusual action. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 02:28, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's not really unsual :) But i know what you mean. Well, i introduced him/her to Wikipedia, and he/she asked a question of me, which i answered on their talk page. --Quadraxis 02:57, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Is CosmicCastaway a sockpuppet, specifically yours? Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:45, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I was waiting for this question. Nope, not at all. He/She is just a friend of mine that i introduced to wikipedia, and who decided to do a few less than smart things (vandalism, obviously). --Quadraxis 23:25, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Quitting Thing[edit]

Yeah, I just assumed that I had lost face and would have to do things that would make me have to leave in order to make things work out and blah, blah, blah. Thanks for the intervention, here's a barn star for your trouble, my friend. Please let me know if I can help out in the future. karmafist 04:54, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Aww, I am flattered, that's my first Barnstar! (In addition to the flamethrower that Drini gave me that I still need to add to my User page). You've not lost face in my book, and things will work out. Keep the faith, and rock on. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:44, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

CustomerVision...my bad.[edit]

Sorry about the mix-up. The author politely asked that the article be reinstated, which it was...but in the same "adspeak" as before. The link they sent me on my talk page actually looked pretty good. Still, I support your decision. Just giving you a heads-up.  :) Watching your back, I remain, Lucky 6.9 06:30, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Now my feelings are hurt since you say I talk in adspeak. I was trying to be as plainly factual as I could and I did not mean to use adspeak.

CustomerVision entry[edit]

After a dialog Lucky 6.9 said the CustomerVision entry was ok. Can you please undelete or explain why. Once someone with authority such as Lucky 6.9 ok's the article is their a way to tag it so it doesn't get deleted again?

It's an advertisement, and we're not a web directory. I'm not going to undelete it at this time, and no there's not really a way to tag any given article to prevent another Administrator from Speedy deleting the article or another user from nominating it for Articles for Deletion. I suggest you post a comment at Deletion Review, I'm too tired to look at it again tonight. Best regards, Ëvilphoenix Burn! 06:37, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is the point I made before:

I understand what you are getting at with this but I think the article was appropriate. CustomerVision is a real company with real customers and we are very much a peer to other companies with similar entries on the site. The post I made was very factual and not grossly promotitional. Here is a link to our site if you would like to verify our history.

http://www.customervision.com/ http://www.rapidwiki.com/

My attempted contribution was pretty mild and I felt it was very similar to other peer articles. I feel like I was respecting the standards I found within related articles.

Pigsonthewing[edit]

Whee, Pigsonthewing doesn't believe I should be able to say anything on his talk page in response to his accurations re: me. Here's the diff with my response to his suggestion that my block log with offer all sorts of incriminating evidence against me: [2]. Note that he reverted my response twice. I'm all for users having control over their talk pages, but removing a response to an accusation in a mixed company discussion should be a blockable offense IMO. If you have any questions about my two blocks, feel free to contact me here or on my talk page. —Locke Cole 09:01, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah! How dare he prevent you from responding to comments in his talkspace? He should be blocked for that! Just as soon as his (latest) block for trying to respond to comments in Scottfisher's talkspace ends.
Oi! --CBD 09:20, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well, quite. Andy Mabbett 11:45, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
That would be fascinating if he'd been blocked for commenting on Scottfisher's talk page. —Locke Cole 21:53, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs[edit]

I know, huh? Some people just can't get past their confusing instruction cruft, often because it lets them have complete control of their little "kingdom" of things.

Right now, the redirect stub looks like it'll survive, but I assume this is just another round on the never ending cruft wars. I'd hate to do so, but I'm wondering if I should ask Timecop for advice on taking on the cruft, as it seems he's been fairly successful in deleting blogs, albeit in a more than likely crooked way via GNAA means.

Heh, it looks like POTW's at it again up there, eh? I guess David Gerard was right, eventually he'll just piss off so many people that somebody will give him an indef block and nobody will care otherwise. That's good enough for me to leave it alone. karmafist 16:48, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm actually not familiar with the specifics of the issue you're having with the stub sorting team, if you'd care to help fill me in that would be awesome. As far as Andy goes, I'd suggest to you that you just not make further comments about it. Let the other administrators deal with it, and if you find a problem, feel free to bring it to my or another administrator's attention, but otherwise I'd suggest not making any comments about it. Just a thought. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 17:09, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It's basically about deleting {{New Hampshire-stub}} as a redirect to {{NewHampshire-stub}}, and the only reason so far seems to be "policy". As for dealing with POTW, I don't want to, but i'm not going to feel intimidated because of the vagueness of WP:NPA. If anything, the past month has taught me that WP:NPA has degraded to the point where it means nothing anymore. It'd probably be better off merged into WP:CIVIL. karmafist 17:18, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Hampshire-stub[edit]

From your comment on the vote on this stub redirect I think you may have mistaken what is being voted on there. {{New  Hampshire-stub}} is a redirect to the stub template {{NewHampshire-stub}}. Only the redirect is being considered for deletion, not the template. The redirect has been nominated because it contradicts the naming guidelines for stub templates. Caerwine Caerwhine 17:50, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know, and I'm voting to keep the redirect. My vote stands. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 18:59, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Man! I go and ask if he wants his page unprotected, and by the time I look, you already have done so! Grr.... Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 18:56, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Barn Stars and Stub Wars(that kinda rhymes at least)[edit]

I'll let Slim know you're here to help in case she doesn't get back to my page soon. Right now she's told me she's deep in thought over what the pictoral representation of "citation" should be, so I'm guessing she'll be awhile, I definately can't think of how that would look unless there was some old school marm looking librarian or something.

Also, it looks like I have an issue with Grutness, (and to a lesser extent, Caerwhine, who seems to be his sidekick) regarding all of this stub business lately. I'm thinking of entering mediation after he sent over a veiled accusation of vandalism earlier today. Let me know what you think here. I'd like to avoid another POTW situation, but I think Grutness and POTW are apples and oranges for the most part. karmafist 06:22, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I'm kind of keeping an eye on it, but I'm sure it can be discussed and worked out. That comment was a little underhanded on his part, but best to let it slide for now. Keep up the good work. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 15:47, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

USC[edit]

Well, it wasn't an oversight on my part, but I can understand if there's disagreement. Under the theory that an article should either be in a category or a subcategory, the University of South Carolina article doesn't need to be under Category:Universities and colleges in South Carolina when it's under Category:University of South Carolina. In my opinion, you can remove a lot of colleges from the main listings on those pages when you have a pseudonymous subcategory already there. But it's just an opinion.--Mike Selinker 16:18, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it. He was already blocked by the time I came on today. Doesn't take much. I'd say, just let that one go for now, he's said some particularly horrid things today (his response to the Arbitration decision notice was particularly notable), he's already gotten blocked, and he's going to keep getting blocked, or he's going to get banned, or he's going to behave. One of those. Thanks for the link, feel free to point anything else out to me, and keep up the good work. Also, if you'd care to check out Talk:Agnus Dei (disambiguation), I'm getting in a debate over there that I'm going to be looking for some outside input on soon. Thanks. Someone turned Hermione Granger into a fan page.[edit]

I left a note on the Harry Potter Project page, but figured I'd also drop you a note here directly.

A very enterprising new editor spent a couple hours today making some massive changes to Hermione Granger, adding a profusion of images, complete with POV captions, as well as changing the layout to make it inconsistent with the other Harry Potter pages.

I've reverted the page back to an earlier version, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this particular editor may be persistant. → Ξxtreme Unction {yakłblah} 22:42, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I object to the Housist maneuver of putting the Gryffindor seal on the template!!1!!1 Seriously, do we have perhaps a picture of the Hogwarts crest we could put on there? WP:AN/I Comment[edit]

I just wanted to thank you for what you said there. I still can't get CBD to understand that difference between POTW and me, but you can't force your opinion on others like POTW tries to do I guess. I'd be willing to bury the hatchet with POTW if I figured it'd be productive, but I think we both know it wouldn't be ;-) karmafist 04:01, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'm not intending to nor am I looking for you to bury the hatchet so much as just stop swinging it for a while, in order to prevent throwing your shoulder out, if you follow. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:54, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I have no need to in regards to Andy, you and others are swinging it just fine.I'd just like to ultimately bury some demons of mine own as a bonus, life is not great for me outside of Wikipedia right now. However, I have enough other things going on that POTW isn't a big worry. Also, you might want to check Ali K's userpage. Semi-protection[edit]

I've left this message on your Meta page as well, but I wanted to make sure you got this. At Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, a couple users and myself are attempting to gather consensus about a possible change in editing. So as not to keep the community out of the loop, we've been posting to user talk pages, which seems to have worked. If you can add your thoughts to the talk page, it would be greatly appreciated. We've gone over a few issues, ranging from perception of anti-wiki to time limits, and recycling pagemove code, so you might want to check out #Rehashing to get up to speed. Thanks in advance, Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 04:22, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Diffs?[edit]

What are diffs? I dont think Karmafist and Bunchofgrapes actually disagree with anything I stated. They just disagree about its importance. freestylefrappe 21:49, 15 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Diffs are links to pages that show the difference between revisions, you would want to find the edit where you created the page, for example, and find the corresponding diff, and post the link to that diff. See Help:diff. Lemme know if you have any questions on how to do that. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 02:47, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I know, but sadly, there are only three administrators who show up to close things there: BD2412, Radiant! and myself. The only times I close debates I've participated myself in are where the consensus is painfully clear (unanimous), or where the consensus is against me (but I only close those according to the consensus). Since it was a very clear debate, I bit the bullet and closed it. Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 22:47, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was too excited about getting to be the first vote on Linuxbeak's RfB. That and I didn't think he'd need it, besides, I nominated him, thats kind of a vote in itself. Or at least it should be seen as one. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 22:58, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WHY?[edit]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for vandalism of Wikipedia. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires.. Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 01:32, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

:P
I stand by the log: why Britney? Couldn't you have found something else to vandalize with? ;)
ZOMG that is a lie and you know it omg!!!! I am being abused!!!! Desist. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:57, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
As for the other question? No. There are too many Wiki-political factions, and once a person starts doing his/her appointed duties, he/she is bound to piss off people. Such a system would just end up in horrible flame wars. A voluntary review system might be better... Titoxd(?!? - did you read this?) 01:32, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks for your thoughts, I'm just looking for some input on that issue. Well, so much for my unblemished block log *tear*. I don't know why it had to be Britney, it just did. Something clicked in my mind that went "Put Britney on his userpage. And make it huge". I guess it was the most obnoxious thing I could think of. I was a little dissapointed it wasn't you that reverted it, I was hoping you'd at least get to see it while it was still live. Oh well. Btw I don't think it's fair that you blocked me without any warnings ;-). Ëvilphoenix Burn! 05:57, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure I didn't see it? ;)Titoxd(?!? - help us) 21:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)]][reply]
Thanks for the birthday wishes, But try another picture next time.:) Titoxd(?!? - help us) 21:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I know you saw it, I just wanted you to see it when it was still Live, and not a reversion. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 02:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

aleko konstantinov[edit]

You undid the changes Magdalena Rahn made to the article because of "copyvio".

She authored the same article (for the Sofia Echo) you are claiming she plagarized.

Couldn't she just mention in the wikipedia article that this is based on an article she wrote for the Sofia Echo?

She could put a link to it as well.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.87.60 (talkcontribs) 07:12, December 17, 2005

There'd need to be some evidence for that posted to the Talk page for us to be allowed to use the content. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 16:52, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Removal on the embassy corner[edit]

Oh, I noticed that you reverted my edit there. I just changed my username recently and I do not wish to act as an embassy person anymore. So yeah. -- WB 04:37, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, I see. I just didn't know why one username was removing another. Cheers. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 04:39, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yates and Macdonald[edit]

Well even the most cursory glance at the credits for either of them will show the working relationship from State of Play and The Girl in the Cafe. Perhaps a link to the IMDb pages for those productions? [4] and [5] Angmering 18:55, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it shows that there were in the movie, but I don't think is exactly supports an assertion that their working relationship with Yates led to the casting. Ëvilphoenix Burn! 19:35, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you say so. Personally I think the fact that a director casts an actress in leading roles in two of his major productions indicates that he is likely to cast her again sometime, but it's not my area so I shall leave it up to the Potter fans. :-) Angmering 19:58, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

um?[edit]

you blocked me for repeatedly vamdalizing an artilce I only edited once? why?--Heliocentrist 21:04, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fraggle Wizard Rock[edit]

Woops. I actually saw that, but for some reason I left it in. Looks like my spidey sense the Force isn't as strong in me today. --Deathphoenix 13:37, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
