Orphaned non-free image File:41DCY5YZNTL SL500 AA240 .jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:41DCY5YZNTL SL500 AA240 .jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi. I've moved the page to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Theoria and Praxis--an article wouldn't need all those words, and one of them was misspelled anyway. If you want to improve the chances of the article making it to live space, it's a good idea to indicate why this would be a notable journal, and which databases index it. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 04:45, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear GAtechnical,

Thank you for reviewing Theoria and Praxis page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Theoria_and_Praxis#References

As requested I have added two reliable sources to the 'references' section. Theoria and Praxis is a new academic journal. And we are in the process of listing it on the journal indexes. I am not sure what else I can do for this article to be approved.

Thank you.

exmin

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Theoria and Praxis: International Journal of Interdisciplinary Thought requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". A tag has been placed on Theoria and Praxis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://pi.library.yorku.ca/ojs/index.php/theoriandpraxis. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I deleted your article because
  • It was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. The copied page explicitly stated Copyright © 2013 Theoria and Praxis: International Journal of Interdisciplinary Thought, so not public domain. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Your references seem to be closely associated with the publication, and you don't explain why it's notable anyway

Hello Exminre,

It seems to me that an article you worked on, Theoria and Praxis (Journal), may be copied from http://theoriapraxis.yorku.ca/. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.

It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.

Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 16:18, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Theoria and Praxis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Relatively new, non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG. Too soon.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Information icon Hello, I'm Smjg. I noticed that you recently removed all content from Livy A. Visano. Please do not do this. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. As a rule, if you discover a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If a page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored.
