Hi all please leave any comments or feedback here, cheers :)

I knew someone left me message...[edit]

but I couldn't remember where! Hope you don't mind me replacing the previous image on the Wivenhoe Dam page. Soozlepip (talk) 23:48, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Galleries[edit]

According to our image use policy galleries of random images are not encouraged. Wikicommons is the site for media like photos. I have now fixed the link to the Lake Wivenhoe category at Wikicommons. By all means, if you feel the article would be aided by one or two more photos then place them next to the relevant text. - Shiftchange (talk) 00:32, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would be taking more photos if I had a car. When I go get around I make sure I check some possible articles, write up a list and take my camera. There are hundreds of articles in the area with no photos. This category is not even approaching half way complete. It could easily be quadrupled if someone was willing to tag all the articles without photos. Sometimes I wonder where all the Queenslanders are too and not just for taking photos. - Shiftchange (talk) 01:32, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That photo of Brisbane is quite good, great high resolution and must of been a clear day. You might want to read about captions from the Manual of Style. Maybe if you take photos of the dams you could try to get some photos of waterways as well. If you hadn't noticed we need photos for Atkinson Dam, Bill Gunn Dam, Lake Clarendon in the Lockyer Valley and Lake Manchester Dam. - Shiftchange (talk) 11:29, 10 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The categories are fine. I am comfortable with placing dams within Lakes of Queensland as there is no other states listed under Structures in Australia and all dams create lakes, even if they are refered to as a dam. You might want to check Category:Creeks in Queensland and Category:Rivers in Queensland to see if a dam or weir has a category for its related watercourse. I found two sharper categories for those recent additions of yours. Rivers and dams could also be placed in a regional category but not all Queensland regions have been created. We currently have Northern Queensland and South East Queensland. Another good idea is to remove the reqphoto tag from an article's discussion page (if it has one) once a photo is added. Hope that helps and thanks for sharing. - Shiftchange (talk) 04:37, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Commons categories[edit]

Just a short reminder about placing images in categories. According to Commons:Categories we generally don't place an item in a sub-category and then in its parent category as well, only the most specific category. - Shiftchange (talk) 22:47, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
