What is wrong with my edits?

I am trying to edit the Wilson Audio page with accurate information. I have tried over and over to post CORRECT information on there and it keeps getting taken down. What is wrong with the information that I have posted? Is there ANY of that correct information that I CAN use? The information on there currently is incorrect and I can verify that. Please tell me out of my edits what I can use so that I don't keep getting my work taken down? lildebs888 May 10th, 2010 2:54 MST —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lildebs888 (talkcontribs) 20:50, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Correcting information is fine, it's just how you are formatting it is all. Look at how the information is presented in another article to see examples of how it's arranged :). Or try searching around on WP:Help. Falcon8765 (talk) 20:57, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

I looked at the formating issue and I put up a revision of it (so far it has not been reverted... yet). So it is not the information really that I am putting up, but the formating that is an issue? Is having current and past products up ok? Is have external links to articles or reviews ok? Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions :) Lildebs888 May 10th, 2010 3:05 MST —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lildebs888 (talkcontribs) 21:01, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

As far as I'm concerned it was the formatting. I went ahead and fixed it for you. Falcon8765 (talk) 23:40, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you so very much, Falcon! It looks so much better :) Lildebs888 May 10th, 2010 8:29PM MST —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lildebs888 (talkcontribs) 02:25, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. Falcon8765 (talk) 03:57, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Hey Falcon? I have a question for you. In previous edits I had posted up awards that have been given to Wilson Audio over the years and more up to date articles/reviews on Wilson products. Are these ok to put up? Thank you again for all your help. You have been so helpful! :) Lildebs888 (talk) 16:57, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

It's fine, just remember to find a source for it Falcon8765 (talk) 23:35, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Redundant tag-boxes

I removed a "notability" tag because it was directly followed by an "unreferenced" tag, which should be the main reason for the former. Therefore, I considered the notability tag redundant.

On stubs, the boxes due to tags are often just bloating articles, without helping anyone. Adding three tags to an obviously not well-maintained stub doesn't really help anyone. Users should remember the purpose of such tags instead of utilizing them to state the obvious.

For the sake of consistency, I'll leave the edit reverted. But these nagging boxes are generally a problem. Maybe there should be a larger discussion about this. Consider articles like Scattering_amplitude: the page has undergone numerous edits, but not a single source was included, even though the tag has been there for three years now. Deleting such content is obviously unreasonable, so it just remains in this state. On a page about some hardly known pornographic video, however, I fear a similar situation could be used to justify deletions that do more harm than good.

So my edit had two reasons: the redundancy to justify it, and the general thought that inflationary use of such tags isn't very productive. 88.64.99.64 (talk) 07:56, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

I disagree. The maintenance tags put articles in problem categories that get's them improved eventually, even if it might take a long time for certain low traffic pages. Additionally, the notability and unreferenced tags aren't redundant when placed together as they refer to different issues. Falcon8765 (talk) 23:38, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Redemption

Just wondering, why did you revert my edits to Redemption (disambiguation)? Redemption the card game has been around for 15 years, and was the second major CCG released (after Magic: The Gathering). I feel it is notable enough to add to the disambiguation page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.72.113.147 (talk) 00:26, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi Falcon, questioning removal of link to www.violetwands.org on article for violet wands, as that link has existed for that article for almost 5 years since 2005 (removed late 2009, then I re-added the link recently). I checked the guidelines you note for external links and saw nothing that would apply to removing its 4 year existing link in the first place. Can you clarify the reason for its removal in 2009, then in 2010 after my re-add as it does not appear at first glance that it fits any of the criteria for links to avoid that you point to. Would appreciate clarification and specific reason.

This organization is a worldwide org consisting of some 7,000 members and contains the knowledgebase for violet wand use, repair, and construction and the results of their substantive research. (most of wiki's article content was paraphrased from this organization's content.) This is THE expert group on violet wands and everything that appears on the web and in print in fact, in regards to violet wands originated with their experts and their published content.

Ideally, this article on violet wands/ violet rays should probably be separated into two articles. Violet rays are antique 'quack' medical devices with a specific set of frequencies meant for alternative medical therapies. Violet wands are modern made devices specifically manufactured for erotic stimulation. They both have common components and history but are as different (and as similar) as computer monitors and televisions. Like computer monitors and televisions, they have people who use product A for product B's purpose and vice versa through some modification. But when you are talking violet wand, you are defining an adult product specifically for erotic stimulation. So an article on violet wands should logically contain this international education group's link. An article on Violet Wands that contains much content from this group's publications, ought to reference the expert group.

I am one of the only two violet wand manufacturers in the world, and yes while my interest is commercial, the Violet Wand Guild's is educational. I am a member, but not a member of the officer's board. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.59.248.113 (talk) 18:36, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

My edit of Osamu Nishimura's profile was legitimate

I don't know how to or have time to edit in references and use a citation, but here is a link to his Online World of Wrestling profile:

You can also check the External Link to his Puroresu Central Profile (I believe the other external link is outdated/defunct, so you might want to consider removing it).

Houston Riot 1917 Re: Precipitating Causes

Two white police officers activities inside of a black female's home has nothing to do with the black soldiers' mutiny. Nothing. Further, the way the article describes the treatment of the black female is not only desultory from the impetus of the riot, it is also clearly designed to be inflammatory (there is also no way to actually substantiate this version taken from a biased source like the Crisis Magazine). This article need to stick to the actual and pertinent facts.

Why in the heck would you allow this version to sit on Wiki, in place of the one described here: http://hpdsound.ipower.com/officerdown.htm

By doing so, you are showing bias... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.160.50.84 (talk) 18:48, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

I reworded the paragraph in question slightly to be more neutral. However, please don't remove sourced content that you disagree with without discussing it on the article's talk page first - I'd have been more than happy to change the article had you done so. Why are you reverting my edits to Tiago Splitter?

You keep reverting my edits to Tiago Splitter and state they are not able to be verified and are not coursed. This is wrong. Not only is it easily verifiable that Splitter was ACB MVP, my edit was also sourced.74.194.176.82 (talk) 00:53, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Not seeing any sources in your edit, and you're removing the height/weight templates for some reason. Falcon8765 (talk) 00:54, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I posted a source and I also put the correct height weight template for Euroleague players. I will remind you of the 3 revert rule. You reverted it twice already.74.194.176.82 (talk) 00:57, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Again, not seeing a source, but whatever. Falcon8765 (talk) 00:58, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Specifically, [1], where is the source you are drawing from in that diff? Falcon8765 (talk) 01:00, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
My edit is sourced and verifiable. I have no interest in arguing with you or anyone else. Just remember the 3 revert rule.74.194.176.82 (talk) 01:07, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
You say it's sourced and yet provide no source or point me to the source in question. Falcon8765 (talk) 01:09, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
In the diff you posted the source is right there. Now, I see you have roll backer rights. Would not falsely reverting edits, claiming they are not sourced, when they were lose you those rights? I think it would. In the diff you posted you can clearly see the source I added. Right where I added that he was Spanish League MVP is the source. Why are you rolling back this edit and falsely claiming it is not sourced? Roll back rights can be revoked you know. I am just trying to help wikipedia by making good and legit edits. I'm not here to edit war and revert war.74.194.176.82 (talk) 01:14, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I havn't reverted your edits since we started this discussion. I see that I was mistaken about the template thing now, and that you just changed some of the Wikilinks, so there was a misunderstanding and I apologize. The number changes in the height/weight fields made me think you were just inputting raw numbers. However, this would have been sorted out much faster if you had been less combative and not threatened me with policy violations instead of making yourself understood. Again, I apologize, I tend to be highly suspicious of IP edits based on my long experience here and yours was flagged. Thanks for contributing.Falcon8765 (talk) 04:23, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Cab Calloway Alumnus Additions

While I understand your desire to keep Wikipedia vandal-free, the additions made to the notable alumni page are factual. I would be interested to see what the standard for verification was on Mr. Melendez and Mr. Millison's entries, and why the entries for Ms. Boyer et al did not fit the aforementioned criteria. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.175.108.214 (talk) 04:53, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Just removed the other two as well. They need to be cited that they actually went there. Falcon8765 (talk) 04:55, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

First, let me thank you for being fair in your standards. For what it is worth, I can vouch that Melendez and Millison were and are, respectively, students at CCSA. As for citations, what would be an acceptable entry? As far as I'm aware, there are no digital records of Cab Calloway's enrolled students. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.175.108.214 (talk) 04:58, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, non-digital records are fine as long as they are accessible. Preferably, a third party news biographical article or the like mentioning their alma mater would be best. WP:RS lays out the guidelines for sources, though it can be a bit long. Falcon8765 (talk) 05:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

The Wikipedia Signpost: 17 May 2010

Hi,

I can understand you moved links of single maunfacturers to not be biased here - but deleting the link to the biggest and oldest completely free and comunity driven board that holds all the knowledge of a whole community of people who keep inventing new devices and helping newbies every day to keep on the safe side? Most of the contents of the article IS in fact done by smartstim members and/or copied from smartstim posts. EE does bear a certain level of danger - every newbie who checks on the board is very likely not to do the most dangerous mistakes -- deleteing the reference to smartstim means putting mostly young and unexperienced newbie stimmers at risk to make potentially lethal mistakes. Again: smartstim is free of charge and relies on donations just like wikipedia- it's from the community for the community - everybody there works voluntary and it's to my knowledge the information-richest site of it's kind. So - I've seen there has been quite some edit and re-edit already .... I am not a friend of this kind of conversation by editing until one is fed up with going on ... could you please consider to re-think your decision? - maybe have a look at the site that you are disconnecting from it's wikipedia article? 95.222.175.61 (talk) 21:35, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Falcon8765 (talk) 22:58, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
I extrapolated that you were talking about Erotic electrostimulation, which I hadn't edited. But seeing the link you added, I removed it. If the material on the article is from the website in question, feel free to cite it as thus via WP:CITE. Falcon8765 (talk) 23:03, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

I didn't add the link - it was somebody else in fact -- and it's not about citing - it's about informing people wo search for information properly. And it's about safety. There were paragraphs about safety that have been removed because whoever thought it's obvious .... and it is not. If you look on the site there are several people a week that ask exactly those questions and when they come to ask they are saved from serious damage for their body - if not then maybe not. Besides there is a very concerning picture on the article that shows a practice that is better NOT done -- I don't see why you decided to remove a link that is very useful to people seeking information about the given topic95.222.175.61 (talk) 07:06, 19 May 2010 (UTC)

Steven B. Smith, Yale University professor

I've been asked to update the wiki page concering Professor Steven B. Smith. I've tried but the changes that I made were considered vadalism and were reverted back. I need to get the wiki informaiton updated for him and would appreciate it if I could do this and have it stick the first time.

Below is the information he has asked me to replce what is there with. Can I do this or can you do thi so that I can let him know it's set. I'd appreciate any assistance you can give.

Thanks TH252

Steven Benjamin Smith (1951 --) is a political scientist who holds the Alfred Cowles Chair of Political Science at Yale University.

Life and Works

Smith was born in Chicago in 1951. His early interests were in literature and poetry although he later turned to the study of philosophy and political theory. He was educated in public schools and received his Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 1981. Smith accepted a position at the University of Texas at Austin where he taught for two years before joining the Yale faculty in 1984.

Smith's principle contributions have been to the study of the history of political philosophy. He has written on Hegel, Spinoza, and Leo Strauss among many others. His major books include Hegel's Critique of Liberalism (1989), Spinoza, Liberalism, and Jewish Identity (1997), Spinoza's Book of Life (2003), Reading Leo Strauss (2006), and The Cambridge Companion to Leo Strauss (2009).

In addition to his academic studies, Smith has been Master of Branford College (one of Yale's residential colleges) since 1997. In this capacity he has brought to the Yale campus a number of controversial figures and celebrities ranging from authors, Tom Wolf and William Styron, journalists Seymour Hersh, William Kristol, and Jane Mayer, hip-hop artist Ludacris, bioethicist Ezekiel Emanuel, and Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard.

Smith is married to Susan Smith who is the director of an arts school in New Haven. They have one son Joshua of Brooklyn NY.

Controversies

Smith's work has garnered various reviews and awards over the years. Spinoza, Liberalism, and Jewish identity was awarded the Ralph Waldo Emerson Prize by the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

Reading Leo Strauss was the subject of a range of reviews in the New York Times, The New York Sun, The New Republic, and Commentary, among others. At issue was his attempt to present a more liberal picture of Strauss than had been popularized both in the press and by Strauss's scholarly critics. Smith saw Strauss as a skeptic in politics whose views were quite different from the kind of neo-conservatism with which he was being identified.

This reading of Strauss was the subject of a polemical exchange with Shadia Drury in the journal Political Theory.

Teaching

Smith has been a popular and influential teacher at Yale. His introduction to political philosophy was filmed as part of Yale's on-line course series. His seminars have been devoted to a range of topics and thinkers dealing with Plato, Aristotle, Machiavelli, Montesquieu, Rousseau, Lincoln, Strauss, and Isaiah Berlin.

Smith served for a year as Acting Chair of Yale's Judaic Studies Program. His classes have frequently introduced Jewish themes drawn from the Bible, Maimonides, and Spinoza. He has also led reading groups on the fiction of Isaac Bashevis Singer, Philip Roth, and Saul Bellow.

Smith is affiliated with the Tikvah Foundation and teaches a summer seminar for them on Spinoza. He has recently become affiliated with the Jack Miller Center.

In addition, he is a popular lecturer for Yale alumni groups and tours. In 2009 he was awarded the Lex Hixon Prize for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences.

He is an avid New York Yankees fan.

STOP your AUTOMATIC REVERTS to Jews as a Chosen People ARTICLE

You AGAIN automatically reverted a deletion of vandalism in the "Charges of racism" section in the "Jews as a chosen people" article. The section in question is not only biased, but contains flat out ridiculous lies and moronic statements that are not supported at any point by any sources. For all purposes it is vandalism and I am reverting it. If you wish to discuss the revertion or rewrite of that section you do so in the discussion page of the article, you do NOT automatically revert when a reason is given for the revertion. Continue to do so and you will be reported for vandalism. 124.148.238.200 (talk) 05:12, 20 May 2010 (UTC) Sutter Cane

You need to discuss major changes to an article beforehand on the talk page. I'm not adverse to rewriting the article, just not by deleting most of the content on said article before rewriting it, especially when said section does have a source or two, even if they might not be good. Additionally, please assume good faith and refrain for threatening to report me for vandalism, which I have been removing for the greater part of 3 years. Falcon8765 (talk) 05:16, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

It has been discussed on the talk page. A new discussion has been brought up. You are automatically reverting and NOT discussing said revertions to obvious vandalism. I am in no wrong here and I suggest you follow Wikipedia guidelines. Which includes not threatening people with ignoring good faith by outlandish statements I ever once said you had vandalized the article. However repeatedly reverting the article to vandalism is itself vandalism and continuing to do so is a reportable offence. 124.148.238.200 (talk) 05:22, 20 May 2010 (UTC) Sutter Cane

Again, I have remarkably little patience for being accused of vandalism, so this discussion is over if you can't remain civil and stop bandying accusations about. Your blanking has been undone by three different editors besides myself, indicating a consensus that it should be discussed before being removed entirely. The initial portion that was uncited was removed and should have been, but the other portions are sourced. Falcon8765 (talk) 17:45, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

Veer Savarkar edits

Hi there,

I am not too wiki savvy, so my editing skills are very basic. Savarkar has always avocated Godlessness and has emphasised that the term Hindu has more of a Geo-racial definition rather than a religious one. Atheism in Hinduism

I have no idea on how to cite sources in wiki and know quite well that I have limited learning capabilities when it comes to computers.. However, fyg, here is some thing which I can share with you.

Father Knows Best review link

I guess I don't understand why a link to my review of the series, which contains valid production history notes -- and which doesn't advertise my site or my name in the link -- was removed. There are tens of thousands of review links on Wikipedia for various movies and TV series. Why does mine not apply? What's not valid about it?

There are already review links on the page, it doesn't need more honestly. Though if you wanted to start a 'reception' section about its critical reception, you could use that link as a source. Falcon8765 (talk) 20:00, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Maritime vsat redirect to vsat

I discovered that my new article on Maritime vsat has been changed to point to vsat and all content removed. This has been done as far as I know without notifying me or adding any explanation or discussion to the talk pages of that article. What would be the reason? I am very familiar with the vsat page which covers the stationary vsat terminals. What I added on the Maritime vsat pages was unique to Maritime vsat and not covered in the vsat article. Could you please explain your reason for redirecting? --Affen15 (talk) 13:59, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

I just didn't think that it needed a whole article on the subject. The content is all still there in the page history if you would like to merge it with the normal VSAT article, which would be more helpful. Just make a new section :). Falcon8765 (talk) 19:54, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi!

Thank you for visiting our wikipedia page. There are only two of us that are allowed to edit that, one would be Peter Godwin himself, who has left a "WITHOUT PREJUDICE" disclaimer and contact.

Please understand that over the years, there are certain characters who have been maliciously playing with the page with unfounded and inaccurate information starting with that allmusicguide biography wherein almost all of the information is an absolute falsity from a writer who never did research on Mr. Godwin nor his contributions in music.

This would start from his place of origin which is London and not Germany. Betacommand, a while ago tried to edit this information with this particular information for startes and again, this goes back to that particular writer from allmusicguide.com

In this light, there are other people to consider in Mr. Godwin's manager and we do not appreciate that this site be a testing ground for someone else's wiki sandbox let alone, spread a very disparaging and derogative remarks/uncorroborated information over Mr. Godwin personally and his contribution to the music scene.

Henceforth, that is why we are providing you accurate links which Mr. Godwin himself approved in order to once and for all end any and all speculations.

Having said this, all we are asking for are two things:

1. To freely write the factual events and information on his site. 2. How to go about the "Reference List" moving towards the Citations page wherein we would be deleting that allmusicguide biography and adding our own references.

That is all that we ask.

I do hope you could help us out on this. You could email me as well as my I've set my preferences to go to my private email.

Many thanks.

Madeleine B. Stern

On my talk page you apparently posted : "The article Madeleine B. Stern has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article....." However, Ms. Stern is not a living person, having died in 2007, as noted on the page. Teeb (talk) 00:51, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

User talk:Attilios

Dear Sir/Madam or shall I say colleague; I just find offensive, that this Italian gentleman arrives for the first time in this entry for “FERROL” in this free encyclopaedia and from one second is just trying to change the entire entry for the worst. And as it appears it’s all just to do with some sort of looks and uniformity nonsense. It just doesn’t make sense at all!! As it stands, the entry gives copious information about this special settlement in north-western Iberia and I say special because is one of the three naval stations of Spain. So its not a normal city, it’s a military place with a very specific role in the country. Iberia is divided in three parts when we are talking Spanish MOD and FERROL is the capital of the maritime military province of the north of Spain from Portugal to France! … Furthermore this man has deleted information about quaternary sector (talking about the local economy) provably because he doesn’t even know what that means!! HONESTLY!! … To make corrections you need to know what you are doing and he doesn’t appear to have a clue!! FOR HIM ITS JUST LOOKS!!! What about content?!! Just soo ridiculous!! Thank you ever soo much for your help in advance, I’ve been carried away because I just find the whole issue soo annoying!! House of Prayer

What kind of Sources are you looking for? I used to be a Member of New Testament Christian Church and I personally know the Pastor of House Of prayer. The Post there for HOP seems like it was made my a Member of House of Prayer. They are a cult by all definitions. I understand that Wikipedia had almsot gotten in trouble for having an article against NTCC. What am I allowed to do so I can prevent others from falling in with that crowd? I am not here to spread lies and stuff. I am here because I saw the way some things were run in NTCC and I do understand how they run things in HOP. Any Advice? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.180.76.232 (talk) 00:29, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

What sources should be used is detailed at WP:RS. Honestly, as it seems you are here to push your own point of view, you probably shouldn't edit the page in question. Falcon8765 (talk) 00:31, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Not trying to push my own point of view at all. I am trying to state fact. There is so many things that go on in NTCC and HOP that go on and they get away squeaky clean every time. They didn't offend me or say anything to make me leave them. I left of my own free will because I felt that something wasn't quite right about them. The only comment I posted was a footnote explaining to people who view the HOP and NTCC article to be wary when visiting them. I never badmouthed them. Never said anything harsh about them. I simply said for people to be careful when they visit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.180.76.232 (talk) 00:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Hold on Falcon, do I take it that your are warning me about the argument that I have having with a anonymous editor and saying that I am not being reasonable? He/She is hiding behind a anonymous IP address and its me being unfair!! how does that work?

He/She is trying to use cites to block my edits yet the article is full of uncited information. Yet it seem strange that the uncited yet remaining entries are all critical of NZ yet any that are suppotive are blocked!

Could you explain thsi pproach to be as I must be thick!

You were insulting the other person and calling them a coward. I concur with Falcon8765's warning. Stickee (talk) 01:51, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

I was not insulting the person - It is common terminology on the Internet the tease people operating behind a anonymous IP address :Anonymous Coward" I believe it started on SlashDot. I got a bit hot under the collar I will try and tone it down.

However the point remains that who ever that is is using cites to try and prevent corrections and is allowing entries that they like to remain un-cited.

Baburaj.T.V

Hello. Fyi, I removed your speedy deletion tag from this one because you had tagged as a recreated article. Surely the page had been deleted before but a speedy deletion of "recreation" is only valid for pages that were discussed on AfD. Pages that were speedily deleted before and are then recreated can only be tagged under the same CSD criterion again - which in this case was an author blanking.

Anyway, let the translators have a look at it and they'll decide whether to tag it for notability or other reasons or whether to keep it after all. Regards, De728631 (talk) 18:24, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 20:44, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Freddie Mercury

I left a note on the discussion page, which you didn't bother to read. I guess an unregistered user and the word "blanking" automatically equate to "vandalism" in the eyes of the self-appointed Wiki police. Anyway, I blanked the whole discography section except for two links, one to the Freddie Mercury Discography and one to the Queen discography. What followed those two links was an exact copy of the Freddy Mercury Discography. Either it's redundant information, or the article on Mercury's solo career is unnecessary. 98.221.124.80 (talk) 23:51, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Du Kirpalani - please help

Hi Falcon 8765,

My name is Dushant Kirpalani (aka Du Kirpalani) and I'm not sure why I got flagged for deletion. All the facts listed are true. Friends, family and colleagues have posted true data. My 2 imdb credits are listed. Sadly, not all producers in India list themselves on imdb.com so it's not possible to have every credit accounted for. My manager Anuradha Anshuma, in India added them.

I did place 2nd with the tvwriter.com contest. It's listed on their website. About performing stand up, I do. My next performance is at the comedy store on July 16th. My first performance is posted on youtube. They besides performing regularly for Vargus Mason, I've also performed at the Brew Co. in Westwood, CA. Stand up clubs don't allow recording so I can't post every performance of mine up.

I'd really appreciate it if you remove the deletion. I depend on wiki to get work and many people look me up.

Please let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Thanks and best, Dushant (aka Du) Kirpalani —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dukirpalani (talkcontribs) 20:41, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

regarding international varieties of english

I understand the various forms of spelling that come with english as an international language, i merely changed the quote to a more "american" version because all of the members of the band grizzly bear are from the united states and primarily live and work here. Due to this fact I thought a more american feel to the article would be appropiate. If the article were about a something suck as band of skulls or mumford & sons, i would have left it perfectly alone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.165.171.17 (talk) 20:58, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

"Indian nationalism" on stock market

Hello, I noticed you reverted edits by an anonymous IP user who removed the image of the BSE Sensex and replaced it with one of the House Ter Beurze. Well it turns out said user has been around and has replaced India-related images on several different articles. Things came to a boil at here where said user removed an image of a frigate (presumably because it was Indian, though in his opinion because it was not notable and that better choices existed). After posting a note on WT:SHIPS, consensus was reached and said anon's edits were reverted. What I did find questionable though was the fact that he accused everyone who disagreed with his opinion of practicing Indian nationalism - even those who weren't Indian. Then he went and attempted to canvass opinions from others by posting on the Talk:Pakistan, Talk:Bundeswehr and Talk:Germany articles as well as attempting to elicit support from a known POV-pusher. Curiously, he didn't post a message at Talk:India which I found a little funny ;). I just wanted to let you know that should you encounter said user in the future, I believe assuming good faith would be a mistake given his recent behaviour. Thanks, Vedant (talk) 19:33, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

If there aren't any sources, it's not included. Anyone could just make up whatever they wanted otherwise.Falcon8765 (talk) 05:15, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

It may very well be true, and I thank you for trying to improve the article. However, we need third-party sources like technical manuals or news stories for verifiability. Falcon8765 (talk) 18:29, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

What if i list an article that i typed up about 2 years ago stating improvements i made and why which would pretty much cover the info i stated -Thanks, Eddie —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.183.35 (talk) 18:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Sorry :(, I don't think that would be appropriate. If the info is true, there might be some websites out there that demonstrate it? Otherwise, you could ask on the talk page for anyone who can help provide sources to corroborate your info. Falcon8765 (talk) 18:33, 28 June 2010 (UTH

Northampton State Hospital

Hey Falcon,
What happened to don't template the regulars? >;- ) I was actually returning an existing link that had been removed when I reverted some unsourced and rather POV edits, DIFF, which have now been returned to the article.

As lots of Kirkbride Buildings, the asylum was a very unpleasant place to live, with some of the brutality including lobotomies, abuse, and overcrowding. Various shock therapies, restraints, and sleep drugs were used in brutal ways to try and keep the crowded asylum under control. After the asylum was abandoned, the buildings became overgrown with vegetation and the wings of the buildings were left to slowly rot and decay until it's demolition.

All unsourced ! Please have a look at the diff ! --220.101 (talk) \Contribs 19:26, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

(edit conflict)Falcon, your revert didn't actually remove the link that I (apparently) got picked up on:
Color aerial photo of Old Main: http://media.photobucket.com/image/northampton%20state%20hospital/newenglandoddities/NorthamptonStateHospital-ArialVi-1.jpg ,
or was it the YouTube link? Anyway I have now reverted you (sorry!) and the text mentioned above (+ YouTube link) is gone. But there is a lot more similar! This article has only one source and is also(or was?) proposed for deletion! Regards and Happy Editing! --220.101 (talk) \Contribs220.101.28.25 (talk) 20:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry about that. Only meant to revert the link and the others got caught with it. Falcon8765 (talk) 21:23, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

I am not committing vandalism

First of all, what exactly is vandalism? You link your message with my action as "vandalize" . Read the page <== to LEARN what vandalism is. Secondly, why did you revert my beneficial edits to American_and_British_English_spelling_differences? What is your motivation. Please explain your reasoning for my vandalism. I understand your politeness, but your convincement in me being a vandal is not supported by your vague "explanation". You must prove yourself right before proving me wrong. Lastly, the Wikipedia article on "Vandalism" does not state anything about adding/replacing Latin letters (eg. ae) with typographic ligatures (æ). Read the section 6, and section 7. Thank you. ALSO, click the picture for your BIG mistake, aka "vandalism" (Sarcastic, i am not a snitch like you): http://i50.tinypic.com/2vt8obt.png

It is important to consider typographic ligatures throughout Wikipedia, as it is part of our history on the Languages of Latin, Old English, and many other languages that USED to, and STILL use ligatures. "Æ/æ", "Œ/œ", and the ampersand, "&" are very common ligatures, all derived from Latin (used in Old English). They are from the forms of "ae", "oe", and "et" (Latin for "and"). "Et" can be easily noticed as a ligature with the Trebuchet MS font, shown here: "&". 序名三 「Jyonasan」 Talk 19:39, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

First of all, please remain civil. I'm much more likely to be friendly if you are. Secondly, I warned you for vandalism because you made or appeared to be making mass changes to articles with 'ae' in the title. I informed you that their was no consensus to do so in an edit summary, but you continued to do so despite being reverted. Your opinion on typographic ligatures is probably correct, but mass changes without discussing it isn't the way to go. If I hadn't reverted your edits, someone else would have for the same reason. I'm not convinced that you are a vandal, merely that you were making mass changes without discussion and thus had the potential of being one. I stand by my warnings. If you want to change the page titles, start a discussion on one of the talk pages. Falcon8765 (talk) 21:31, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Additionally, if you wanted to include the ligature version along with the standard title it would be useful, but replacing all AEs with Æ isn't. Falcon8765 (talk) 21:39, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, i believe i have learned my lesson. i understand, i was being a little obsessed with Latin (hehe lol) :0
i will not make mass edits without first consulting with the talk page of the article.

Repeated vandalism by 69.225.179.162

Hello, sir!

I'm new to all this, so pardon me if my protocol is off.

I've undone 4 acts of vandalism by 69.225.179.162. If you look at the history of Humana, you'll see that he keeps changing "health insurance" to "death panels." Res ipsa loquitur (it speaks for itself).

Thanks for the initial polite note to him. Apparently it has been ignored. You appear to have much invested in this article. I'm a professional who does predictive modeling in health care. I don't find the vandalism at all amusing - to say the least. Such an act has consequences in a court of law. Folks always seem to think that because it's the internet, then they can do and say whatever they want.

Thanks for your consideration, and for indulging my concerns.

Sincerely Blumantis (talk) 23:45, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Hello! I havn't done any content work on the article in question, I just revert the vandalism when it pops up. The particular instance you are referring to is done sporadically by an IP hopping vandal, so blocking is difficult. Thanks for bringing to my attention nonetheless. Also, you'll want to avoid legal threats in general, it's considered a no-no (WP:LEGAL. Anyways, thanks again. Falcon8765 (talk) 01:35, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Unreverted vandalism

Hello Falcon8765. Thanks for your countervandalism work. I noticed you reverted 95.132.67.37 on various pages, but you missed edits on user_talk pages that were immediately followed by a signature bot (as on User talk:RK). When a user has a few non-(top) edits in their contributions, their edit is often still on the page. —Pathoschild 06:20:11, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

The first few comments I didn't revert because I assumed good faith, but I started reverting when he started making mass copypastad comments. Falcon8765 (talk) 16:46, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

For the maintenance on my user talk. Although the image is probably in the public domain, it didn't need to stay :) Tiderolls 06:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

:?

what exactly does your strikethrough mean? i interpret it as your apology. thnx. but one thing that does not make sense nor clear, is that with all respect sir: can i please revert at least these two pages? USA&UK spelling differences, and if possible, Æronautical enginering. because thy both cost me a heck load of time and work. if you understand, please give me consent. but if you believe that one or neither should benefit Wikipedia, please explain why in my talk page. thank you! :D

序名三 「Jyonasan」 Talk 07:27, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Strikethrough was me adding a line through the middle of the warning, removing it but having it still be there for reference purposes. Feel free to remove it if you want. I still disagree with changing the articles mentioned to entirely one or the other in this case as the common name are the ones that are used for the article titles and extensively used in sources and company names and the like. I don't think anyone would object to having the ligatures in addition to the traditional spellings, e.g. "Aerospace engineering, also known as Ærospace engineering is... blah blah", as you have already created appropriate redirects and redirect titles are often included in article intros and bolded. Falcon8765 (talk) 16:52, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Also, just for reference, you can remove whatever messages you want on your own talk page, except for things like blocking templates, but you don't have to worry about blocking templates. :). Falcon8765 (talk) 16:54, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

thnx ~:]

so, just one last question... for example, the article on "Encyclopædia" contains a Latin Ligature, because it is related to either: 1) Latin, 2) Language (Lingüistics), 3) Etymology (in this case, a dictionary), etc. so, does that mean anything other related to what i just wrote i appropriate to contain Latin Ligature. thnx! :D

how can i get information about a band into wiki pedia?

hi, u send me a msg telling i should not put information about the Freewheeler cello blues band on this wiki, since it is not meant to be an advertisement medium.

I am aware of this, and i like this concept.

However, I was very disappointed when i read your comment, and i am not convinced that: a. you were right with your opinion that i was advertising b. wikipedia is a democratic thing

Question: -how did the other band names (plus link) get into wiki? -why weren't they deleted? -why am i convinced wiki gets paid?

i'm really pissed about it, as i know we were one of the first bands using this concept.

or is wiki only for the rich and famous bands?

Bas Vossen u got my IP —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.95.192.16 (talk) 22:13, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

You're a little late on objecting, as [6] was several months ago. To answer your question, bands generally have articles written about them once they pass WP:BAND, though the whole section was pretty bad in general. If you want to meaningfully contribute to the encyclopedia, please read the links posted on your talk page, I don't get paid to edit. Falcon8765 (talk) 01:52, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

For this. I don't have any ambition to become an administrator, but for about 10 minutes I had wished that I had the ability to block a user. Oh well, "Brahm Bravin" is gone forever (thankfully). Jrcla2 (talk) 03:14, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

I saw you used Huggle to undo an edit that removed some material from this article. The same editor is at it again. Maybe if you have time you could take a look at it. The problem is that the only available online sources are generally critical of the subject, implying that he looted the treasury, which would not be unusual for a military governor in that place at that time. His successor was apparently no saint either. The editor is objecting to the "hostile" article, now adding claims that charges were never proved etc., which may well be true but is not sourced. I started the article and added most of the content, so would prefer to avoid getting into an edit war - better to have a 3rd party look at it. Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 13:12, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, maybe that will work. Now I see 41.138.187.160 is sticking "Oloye" (Yoruba for "Chief") in front of names and "aristocratic" after them. Another IP was doing the same until just recently. Harmless, I suppose. (You can call me "Sir" if you like: I come from a very old family, dating back thousands of years, perhaps you do too?) I am tempted to just unwatch all the Nigerian politicians. Sometimes I am tempted to just give up altogether. Aymatth2 (talk) 01:37, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Hutt Valley High School

I see that you have reverted two edits to Hutt Valley High School and warned the anon for making test edits. The edits look to be in good faith to me - both the people added have Wikipedia articles (one at Andrew Barron although the anon linked to Andy Barron), and both have connections to the Wellington region dating back to their school days. This is certainly not proof that these people attended this school, but I think it is at least sufficient to assume good faith. I would suggest that you restore the edits and fix the first link provided.-gadfium 06:24, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

I reverted my edit to the former. I'm usually very skeptical of anon edits to High School pages without sources from experience (changing school colors to rival schools etc.), but I see a source on the linked page. Falcon8765 (talk) 21:20, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
I understand your skepticism. High School articles are frequent targets of vandalism. Much of this is obvious (eg "The school is gay"), and some is easily detectable so long as basic information can readily be found on the school (such as a student adding their name as the "new" principal). I frequently remove people from the notable alumni sections of school articles on the basis that they do not appear to be notable, and I use a Google search to help determine this. However, school articles are also often the first place for a new editor to learn the basics of editing Wikipedia, so the assumption of good faith is important, and I will usually leave edits such as these which appear to be correct even if they do not provide sources. It is possible that someone might lay claim to a notable person attending their school when in fact that person attended a rival school, but I have not seen an example of such exposed. Anyway, thank you for responding, and for restoring the edit.-gadfium 23:31, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Can you explain why you deleted the facts on minimum wages & illegal immigrants?

Why did you delete the facts on illegal immigration and affecting the minimum wage? Do you have any cross facts to your edit undo's? You un-did the edit but you did not explain why.

Here is the text and source you removed on the minimum wage article page- Increases more companies to hire illegal immigrants who face too much illegal competition on wage cost factors "The Free Man Online by Howard Baetjer Jr. March 2007" - “At the Intersection of the Minimum Wage and Illegal Immigrationhttp://www.thefreemanonline.org/featured/at-the-intersection-of-the-minimum-wage-and-illegal-immigration/# —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.95.140.176 (talk) 07:53, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

I removed it because you were adding it to multiple articles, and I wasn't sure that it's a reliable source as it's a publication of a libertarian organization (I'm normally Libertarian leaning myself). I don't think the reference in question is appropriate as the article appears to be an opinion piece rather than news reporting or some scholarly endeavor. If you can find the same or similar information printed in other corroborating sources, by all means re-add it. Otherwise, discussion on the wiki article's talk page is probably appropriate. 19990 Pennsylvania Gubernatorial Election

I'm from Pennsylvania, I was corrected either an error or politically motivated vandalism. That there is no source for Bob Casey being a Republican should be clue number one that you should not have changed my correction. That Bob Casey is listed in Wikipedia, and elsewhere on the same page, including inches above my revision, as a Democrat, and the entire page is sourced to the Pennsylvania manual, are other clues that you should not have changed my correction. That you did speaks strongly against the entire Wikipedia system. I have corrected the article, and welcome your apology. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.225.65.54 (talk) 06:34, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
