North Warwick and South Warwick[edit]

Yes these two were real places but the two towns werre dissolved in 2002 and absorb into the Warwick Shire.

Would you mind grabbing the content of Eyes Of The Father (Angela's Eyes), which you deleted, and sticking it in my sandbox User:Thatcher131/Sandbox1, or adding it to the episode summary table at Angela's Eyes? Thanks. Thatcher131 (talk) 17:49, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Atchy[edit]

Dear Fang Ali, I strongly object to your deletion of Atchy. It is a commonly used in a childs mind. The article was intended as a reference to a childs way of thinking. I think this deserves page if the word 'Galumphing' does. Also I am not sure what a sandbox is.

biohol log entry[edit]

Dear Fang Aili,

If you look closely in your google search biohol(s) (I think you need to use the plural) you will find a first reference circa 2001 regarding ethanol in Brazil. I considered using biohols as the base word instead of biohol, but the wiki usually redirects plural versions. Any input would be appreciated.

Vinod Khosla uses this term in his white paper relating to ethanol fuel deveopment.

An important suggestion[edit]

I suggest making the database of wikipedia (3.7 GB) downloadable so that it can be downloaded and burned into CDs and then distributed to people who don't have a fast internet connection. Just imagine having the biggest encyclopedia in the world on your computer. By the way, I don't mean downloading just a small part of wikipedia, but I mean the whole encyclopedia.I wrote especially to you because you were the administrator who left me a welcome message on my page.

Taxoboxes[edit]

Hi Fang Aili, I just want to ask this question to you. Is texobox color standarized such colors? Because somebody reverted other edits such as changing the colors on texoboxes. For example, Animal's texobox color is Pink, and Bacteria's texobox color is Blue, Plant's texobox color is Green. Is color really standarized such colors? Please, respond in my talk page. Cheers! Why did you remove my request for immediate deletion?[edit]

Dear Erica, on 8/23 you removed my request for immediate deletion of the page PLANS.

I am the secretary of PLANS, Inc., the subject of the page.

The page has been written by devotees of Anthroposophy, the cult-like religious sect that PLANS exposes. The purpose and effect of the page is to damage the reputation of PLANS. Apparently scholarly references are actually to Anthroposophical propaganda sites. They are not neutral.

Unfortunately, the controversy about Waldorf Education (an activity of Anthroposophy) and Anthroposophy is strongly polarized and there appear to be no neutral sources of information--everything is either cult or anti-cult.

We need some kind of objective arbitration process. I was hoping marking the page for deletion might trigger that.

Please help!

Why did you delete the Essure patient information booklet (PIB). This product is regulated by the US Food and Drug Administation. They wrote the PIB to make sure that consumers have all the safety information for the product. If you read the text you will see that it is referenced as a place for more information on this procedure. Please don't delete. Thanks, Debbie Donovan Conceptus 17:00, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Conceptus is the maker of the Essure system for permanent birth control otherwise known as sterilization. We are trying to educate anyone who is researching their options for sterilization. The Essure procedure has been available in the US since 2002 and tens of thousands of women worldwide rely on it for permanent contraception. Since the company owns the copy write and I am tasked with posting this information I will need to understand how to remove the copywrite notice so that the information can be available on wikipedia.

I noticed on your profile that you are a figure skater. As it happens so am I. I am a great spinner (sit is my best one even though I am almost 40 yrs old). Are you a great jumper--which is your favorite, axel, sal, loop, lutz, wally? I prefer the edge jumps--loop. I also love to skate on syncro teams--the last one I was on was a masters team out of San Francisco, CA called Ice Quakes. I am short so I am usually on the end setting pace and making formations (daredevil old broad you might say).

Anyhoo, hope you will check out the Essure procedure information to appreciate why we at the company need to post to Wikipedia.

Notability[edit]

The problem is, it's not a person, group of people, band or club- it's a resort. Ral315 (talk) 19:36, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, indeed I'm not. But using CSD A7 is wrong, since it doesn't cover the subject of the article. Not to mention that having the article on our servers a few days longer while the already-open AFD continues isn't really a big deal. I've never been one to require everything be done through process, but when process works, there's no need to subvert it. Ral315 (talk) 19:44, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's exactly what I'm saying, that you can't use CSD A7 for anything other than what it says. If you want to delete it under some other terms, fine. But CSDs shouldn't be adapted just to delete a page now, rather than 6 days from now when the AFD closes. Ral315 (talk) 20:15, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you simply delete the Enoch Mogusu article?[edit]

If I needed to improve the article in some way, it would have seemed much more appropriate to tell me so, than to simply delete the article. As for whether it should belong in the encyclopedia to start with, I would maintain that it is significantly unusual and noteworthy for an African craftsman, with a primitive workshop, to produce satellite dishes that were superior in quality and less expensive than those obtainable commercially from overseas. Moreover, it is noteworthy that he is doing this for the benefit of mankind and not to get wealthy. Also for him to provide an alternative to indecent programming on the regular stations is noteworthy.

Can you say, "George Washington Carver"? Alvinf 00:22, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I hope you enjoy living in the city I was Born and raised in...

I have replaced the article that you deleted with a Paper I wrote last year on the group. I will contend that if we can have Articles based on obscure bands, then a newsgroup is equally worthy of at least something.

shoot me an e-mail at drjudsjr@verizon.com if you would like to discuss this further. Drjudsjr (talk · contribs)

I still fail to see how a consensus could have been met when the people who did the review aren't even American and therefore would consider the group to be as relevent as the memebers of the Group would consider Cricket to be important. Drjudsjr (talk · contribs)

A helpful tool[edit]

I found by accident a very helpful tool. You know the free browser Mozilla Firefox. There is an extention to it called StumpleUpon which is a toolbar that allows you to find random sites related to any subject you specify. The toolbar is divided into two parts: the first part makes you choose the type of content the toolbar searches:All web, News, Photos,Videos or Wikipedia. The second part consists of your favourite catagories like: physics, mathematics, ... etc.

You can download the toolbar-after installing firefox by pressing Tools/Extensions then Get more extensions. A web page will be opened which contains many extensions. You will find StumpleUpon among them.

I tested it for physics and came through many sites which exist as external links on Wikipedia pages. All the sites were OK regarding security.

This toolbar can be used by Wikipedia users to search for sites related to any topic which will save a lot of effort.

Try it. It's great!

LOTR Box[edit]

Thanks for your comment. That is what I am in the process of doing right now. All you need to do really is subst {{user LOTR}} with {{User:Royalguard11/userboxes/LOTR}}. I work on a Mac, so no AWB. I will get to everyone in time, but there are 300+ people that use this userbox, so it will take time. -Royalguard11TalkMy Desk 03:30, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are several admins who would like to see all the non-encyclopedic userboxes moved out of template space, or else they may get deleted. I believe I might get some help from the many bots that are now running to do this too. A lot of userboxes are just moved, then its left up to the induviduals to subst it themselves.-Royalguard11TalkMy Desk 03:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As Oleg is on a much-deserved break, I'll try to answer your question quickly (as I have to run to class soon!). You basically need to follow the instructions laid out at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Using the bot, and it should work fairly well. For example, in the WikiProject banner template, you can just add {{subst:class parameter|category=whatever}} and it should work. If you run into any issues, just poke me on my talk, and I'll try replying ASAP. Titoxd(?!?) 16:20, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DSA[edit]

I know its fictional, but i dont think it is a real ship from Andromeda, it seems like a fan made ship. thanks/MatthewFenton (talkcontribs) 21:05, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did some more research and it is a real class of ships in Andromeda; However it is still riddled with OR/spec. I'll add it to my tod list for tommorow and ill try and watch the episodes tommorow, hopefully i can gt it upto an acceptable standard. thanks/MatthewFenton (talkcontribs) 21:17, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It might actually be best to take this to AFD. Just from the info i can find online it appeard once and only the once, i'm not going to be able to get much more then that it has 180 PDLs so it would just be a dead-end stub which would never grow once we remove all the OR/spec. thanks/MatthewFenton (talkcontribs) 21:22, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like a good idea. thanks/MatthewFenton (talkcontribs) 21:29, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay; I've included all 3 ships in one article. I've rewriten it all without OR and speculation and refernced each episode. I think it is a big improvement. (see DSX (Andromeda)) thanks/MatthewFenton (talkcontribs) 19:33, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dominickers (ethnic group)[edit]

Thanks for the welcome, Erica! And the zen moments, too; I needed that. I'm open to any suggestions you may have on my article Dominickers (ethnic group). I don't have a lot of documented facts to go on, but it's a topic that deserves more research, and I want my article to be all it should be. BTW, am I putting this on the right page, in the right place to "talk" to you?? Peace! Textorus 04:24, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Erica, I just found 2 more comments from you on my user talk page; there are too many talk pages around here, LOL; I'm still feeling a bit lost. But thanks for all your suggestions and edits. I've made more revisions and links this afternoon. Yes, I know it all sounds very tentative, but given the nature of the evidence, I'm trying hard to avoid making any undocumented, unverifiable claims here. I'm afraid interested readers will just have to examine the original texts of the various articles for themselves, available on the family tree link at the bottom of the page, and wrestle with the implications as I've done. Great idea about submitting for "Did You Know?" consideration; I'd love that. I think I've about got it all into fairly final form now; but let me meditate on it just a little more.

I've made lots of changes, added new material, and applied for DYK (hope I get it); it's more substantial now, based on suggestions from you and another editor, which I'm grateful for. But I am really pooped now; got to give it a rest for tonight. If you have a chance, take a look and see what you think. Textorus 05:49, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Erica. I'm delighted that it made DYK!

I've read the wiki policy on original research, but I'm not quite clear on how it applies here; though I'm open to enlightenment. I *have* deliberately avoided mentioning the results of my own genealogical research, and have kept the focus on statements made in works produced by other people.

The thing of it is, though, my little article, less than a thousand words at this point, and admittedly imperfect, represents state-of-the-art knowledge about this group at this time. Apart from census records, there has been nothing written on this group except the few short pieces I discuss in the article; a few mere *mentions* in scholarly works on other groups. But that's it. No extended discussion of this group anywhere else in the world at this point, as far as I've been able to find in the last six years.

BTW, another editor/contributor has commented on the seeming inappropriateness of the image PD licensing category. I think you fixed that for me. I don't see any categories that precisely fit this image. My general understanding is that any works produced before 1923 are all in the public domain. When you have a chance, could you please look at the licensing again and see if it needs correcting? Thanks much for all your help and comments! Textorus 22:03, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Erica! I really appreciate your encouragement and advice. Textorus 20:22, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Awww, thanks so much for the butterfly! That makes me feel good. I can tell you I've worked a lot harder on this article than I intended to, nearly 30 hours this week. I've surprised myself, even; it appears I know more than I thought I did. BTW, I think I've figured out the right PD designation, finally. But I've got to stop adding things and get back to the rest of my life now. I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement, Erica. Peace. Textorus 05:08, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need help on copyvio problem[edit]

Hi Erica, I could use some input on the article HIPAA_security_Risk_Assessment/Analysis. It's a cut-and-paste copy vio from a website offering consulting services. I repeatedly added a speedy delete tag, and each time the author would remove the tag. So I tagged it with the regular copyvio tag and blanked the page, and the author simply put the offending text on the temp page which is supposed to be for new, unoffending text. If you have time, would you mind taking a glance at this page? I still feel that a speedy is justified, and this guy is being a real pain. Thanks! Akradecki 04:29, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
