'Option agreements' notes[edit]

Took out this whole section from the article because, as of right now, no idea where these claims came from. Looking into it! 'Playwrights' and 'on spec' (for Spec Script) were linked to their respective wiki pages, which I've removed currently.

Theatrical options

The above rules generally also apply to the option contract for a completed play between playwrights and theatrical producers. A significant difference is that the playwright may refuse to allow their product to be changed in any way without consent and involvement.

The option will provide for the provisions triggered by the production of the play when the producer has put his investors and money together. Occasionally, a play will be commissioned by a producing organization, and in that case the writer will not be working "on spec", and the notion of an option will not arise.

January 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that in this edit to Option (filmmaking), you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 00:31, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
