Rockstar 101 (Cover).jpg

Hi,
do you have a source that can confirm that File:Rockstar 101 (Cover).jpg is the official cover image?

Orphaned non-free image File:She Wolf Tour.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:She Wolf Tour.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.

Woohoo

Do not add the cover back to the page unless you have a reputable source that says it is the real cover. Candyo32 (talk) 22:41, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

btw Where did you find the cover? it is nowhere on Christina's website or on RCA records website. And considering that it appears on: [1], tagged as a fanmade cover you're gonna need a reference which shows this cover from an official source. Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:16, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Single Covers

i've noticed that you have recieved lots of warnings for image violations. Only today did candyo warn you about uploading unsourced covers. Rockstar 101 by rihanna has no official single cover. the only cover available is courtesy of masterbeat.com and is for the remixes. therefore i've undone your re-upload of the incorrect cover. im afraid in this case there is no discussion to be had. if your continue to upload images incorrectly and more importantly if you re-upload the incorrect rockstar101 cover i will inform administrators as it would be seen as disruptive. thanks for your co-operation. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:15, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

And the Rated R Remix cover you uploaded cannot be used because of NFCC#3a and #8. I suggest you read the guidelines very carefully before continuing to upload images/covers. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:22, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Again might I tell you that it is not appropriate to keep uploading the remix cover for Rated R. If you choose to upload it again you will be reported for repeated image violations because you have recieved too many notifications regarding the same image issues. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 16:10, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
I think you'll find that firstly saying that some appears in "article XYZ means im not wrong" is a poor argument per WP:Other stuff exists. Plus rules at WP:NFCC state that:
  • WP:NFCC#3a - Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information.
  • WP:NFCC#8 - Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding.
The cover breaches both of those policies primarily because it is not different from the original cover. The situation at Stripped is not necessarily correct though I could see how you could argue that those two covers are significantly different. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 18:44, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm not interested about other articles. Unless they're WP:FA or WP:GA they cannot be used as examples and benchmarks for other articles. I go by the rules which clearly state as above that cover has to significantly add to user understanding. If you can explain to me the two followings things I will stop removing the cover but I cannot guarentee that other users won't:
  1. What is it about the remix cover that makes it significantly different from the regular cover, that significantly adds to a reader's understanding of the subject?
  2. Is there anything about the extra cover that means it cannot be explained in words. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 19:05, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Above i've explained thoroughly why the additional cover cannot be used. I've clearly and fairly offered you the chance to write a written description on my talk page, here or on Rated R's talk page as to why the additional cover does not fail NFCC 3a & 8. You did not. The current rules do not support the addition of the Rated R Remixed album cover. You need to get a change in rules / permission on the WP:NFCC talk page because like i've said numerous times its not currently suppported by the exisiting rules. You Lost Me

The song is not yet notable per WP:NSONGS because it has not charted on at least one national chart, been covered by several notable artists, recieved independent or critical coverage but most of all because "Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article" (taken directly from the policy). Do not recreate the page yet. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 18:51, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

I didn't understand your last response. If you think I'm trying to sensor wikipedia you're very wrong there. I'm trying to keep wikipedia factual. A song which is to be released does not have to have an article about it. Not having a wikipedia article makes the song no less factual and in no way harms the single's release. If anything it helps because it prevents the arrival of rumours and unsourced information. I never understand why people get upset when WP:Stubs are redirected. I didn't make the guidlines. I have highlighted the relevant part of the rules above. It obvious that currently "You Lost Me" doesn't have enough verifiable information to warrant a reasonably detailed article therefore per the guideline it is not notable. It's there in black and white.... I suggest you create the article in a sandbox (e.g. User:FranklinG/You Lost Me) and then when its notable you can ask an administator to perform a histomerge. Explanation of comments made at You Lost Me AfD required

Please can you explain how you think I personally benefit from the deletion of the article? Your comments are slanderous and do not constitute WP:Good faith. Notice how even though I disagree with your constant re-opening of the page rather than provoke edit warring i've opened a wide discussion which many people can get involved in and I've not mentioned your name once. Please can you set out the pre-defined rules which you think the article meets? Because I've already given detailed explainations on your talk page as to why it should be deleted. Regards, Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:07, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Not at all. I dont have an issue with differing opinions. What WP:good faith and I say are that one should criticize the edits not the editor. Of course there is some degree of interpretation. My point was that I in no way was trying to devalue "You Lost Me" nor was i trying to demote its status as a single. I was merely making the point that the information contained at the article could easily be merged to Bionic and in such cases WP:NSONGS advices that songs where there is not notable information should be merged. Whilst I understand expectations for the single are high I was merely following guidelines. The AFD will now run its course and decide the fate of the song. However in future note that an article should NOT be created in anticipation that a song will get lots of coverage etc. It should only be created when several sections can be made and there is independent coverage from multiple reliable sources. Lil-unique1 (talk) 00:47, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Im trying to be fair but this is getting ridiculous.

Where is the cover for 'You Lost Me' sourced from? You stated on the image's upload page that it could be obtained from the record label but you've obviously obtained it from the internet. Which site did you use to find the image and why have you not clearly sourced it with something that says 'this is the official single cover'? Lil-unique1 (talk) 23:35, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

Apologies i didnt realise it was on her official website. Next time but that as the website/source when uploading the single cover. Thanks Lil-unique1 (talk) 00:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Alejandro (song), please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Template:Lady Gaga. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. TbhotchTalk C. 21:43, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

First at all, DO NOT WRITE IN MY PAGE, second, that is a unreliable source, a link of t-shirt's sales? That is a source, of course not. TbhotchTalk C. 21:37, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, the same way that you did not put the attention on ~ ~ ~ ~ I also had my inattention. The source states explicitly that the next single is "Dance in the Dark."*Fr@nkl!nG* (talk) 21:45, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
And that link is a reliable source because... TbhotchTalk C. 21:46, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Cause is part of the site of Lady Gaga, which may be more reliable?*Fr@nkl!nG* (talk) 21:48, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Answer, Lady Gaga itsef. When Her previous singles were released, she always post something about on the main page of her website. And by the way this is her official shop store. TbhotchTalk C. 21:52, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
OK, about unreliable source, my error, yes it is part of her website. But either way, I only see t-shirts, nothing about releases dates or something like that I only can read White t-shirt features album artwork from Lady Gaga's single "Dance In The Dark". Below image features Lady Gaga name logo and "Dance In The Dark" text. (BGCTLG18)
If you think that "from Lady Gaga's single " confirm about a release, I'm sorry, you are wrong, per WP:OR. Just because it says "single" does not means that it is. TbhotchTalk C. 22:02, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
