Endurance: Season 1 in first run?[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I see that you moved the spoiler warning for Endurance up to the start of Season 1 instead of Season 4. I know the U.S. is currently getting Season 4; is another part of the world only in Season 1? If so, it makes sense to move the spoiler warning; otherwise, it should stay at the current season. Please let me know on my talk page or the talk page for Endurance. Thanks! --C.Fred 01:57, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gunbound[edit]

I work on Gunbound alot. It's something I do in my spare time. I also made an article about it in the Uncyclopedia. I always appreciate help with either and wish to thank you for contributing. Carbunkel

i do want want to edit my talk page my userbox but i dont know how to do would you tell me?user:felisberto21march2006

If we do that we would only be able to put stubs. Besides, the info for each individual bot isn't 'that' much. ~Carbunkel

But if you need any help for Wikipedia or the Uncyclopedia look me up. If you haven't looked at my uncyclopedia about Gunbound you should, It needs more stuff. ~Carbunkel

Hello[edit]

Yeah, this would be the guy with the random IP address editing the Dividing system about 3 times. I was just trying to clean it up a bit, but I kept seeing grammatical errors :) but thanks!

Please do not modify the text below! These are the original, unmodified comments on my user page.

Fred, I just wanted to kindly tell you that you are an insensitive fellow! Well, with that said, I think you should let people write what they want from a neural point of view and not call their works "non-sense" or "vandalism".

Well, have a nice day.

-MR.B

Fred, I will have to agree with MR.B. I have been monitoring your activity for quite a while now. It is quite obvious you are a very opinionated person, but I ask of you to be a bit more open-minded to what others are saying. Remember, other people's views may be different from yours. Nothing you do or say can change that.

Please take what MR.B and I have been saying into consideration.

-Anonymous

It has recently been proven that Anonymous is really an idiot in disguise that vandalizes Ebola. Please do not listen to anything he says. I'm serious. I know him in real life. Freddie 22:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Fred, MR.B here! Thanks for your reply. I am glad that you will keep an "open mind", lol.

Well, I just wanted to find out, I have been educated for a long time on various issues (was a 4.0 honors student in high school, and am in college currently) if we can get a job similar to what you have right now?

Please let me know because I am seriously interested as I am a devout "wikiperdiator" .

Thanks, MR.B

Hey Fredil, "MR.B" here again!

Well you asked what kinds of jobs I am looking for? I am looking for jobs that I get payed for.

Mr. Boxbrown!

I never knew you were so young man! You must be kidding! I'm impressed! Well, when I was 12 and in 6th grade, I used to be a HUGE computer fanatic! Well, it looks like we have stuff in common. Now I'm a bit older (not that much, but still quite a bit) and still am! I build computers on my free time, use several applications, utilize the google services (several of the services and assist them in many ways) and many other things!

kEEP up the good work man,

Permanent links[edit]

(Copied from WP:HD) It links to the specific version of the page you are viewing at that time. That is, if you view the page now and go back later the article could have had edits made to it. But if you view the article through the permanent link you saved previously, you can view the old version. This is useful for those who are (misguidedly, IMO) citing a Wikipedia article in an academic paper and want to make sure there are no confusions between different versions of an article. -Greg Asche (talk) 02:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine. I'll see if I can get in touch with Merphant to get that fixed. By the way, this system is weird. :P æle  2006-04-30t12:15z

Gunbound Bot Revamp[edit]

Thanks for the welcome :)

I would like to make changes to the gunbound mobile section of the article, but I am unsure about how much information I should include. I am thinking of making a seperate article for each bot! What kind of naming convention should the new articles have? Armor_(Gunbound) ? Would it make sense to list the bots on the armor disambiguation page? Most people spell armor as in the defensive material "armour" where as it is "armor" in gunbound. Would it be worth messing up the neat redirect in order to include an article on gunbound?

Thanks again, mezzaninex

That seems like a much better idea. I have found that some of softnyx's data is false, but we can definately use it as a source. Is it your preference to keep most of the data official? I don't really know much or how little detail is good for an encyclopedia article on the bots.

One thing I want to fix about the page is it's rambling descriptions. The introduction under Gameplay ranges from bot descriptions to thor to the definition of bunging... It's just confusing and hard to read.

Also, there seems to be no particular order to the contents. I think order should be something like this:

Gameplay List of GunBound mobiles and their attacks (breif, with full article link) Mobile and attack types (maybe intigrate into "list of gunbound mobiles") Game Types Maps Items Prizes, avatar items, GP and gold Delay Moon Disk Sudden Death List of Slot Items Shooting Modes List of slang/shorthand commonly used on GunBound See also External links

Welcome to Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, Fredil Yupigo, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, we will keep you updated about the results. Because you are a new member, you are not able to vote in these elections, but you will be more than welcome to take part in the elections in June.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Cheers! Sango123 (e) 17:35, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3[edit]

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.
Signed...

You voted for a merger on Talk:Monounsaturated fat and on Talk:Unsaturated fat, but also said that you would reconsider if revisions were made. I have made revisions. You may want to change your vote. --Ben Best

Thanks for removing the merge label from Monounsaturated fat. You voted for a merger on both Talk:Monounsaturated fat and on Talk:Unsaturated fat page, but only removed the label from the Monounsaturated fat page. There were revisions made to the Unsaturated fat page which also justified not going ahead with the merge. So I have remove the merge label from that page also. --Ben Best

Userpage[edit]

Sure! Feel free to steal away. Its basically a bunch of subpages dumped into some show/hide JavaScript boxes on my userpage. Lots of code, at least :P. If you want to use a similar system with your userpage, I'll gladly help. Cheers, Mopper Speak! 00:48, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature[edit]

Your signature contains a copyright image: Image:Zakum1.gif. Using that image in any other place than in an article that critically comments on it is a violation of the law. You must remove the image from your signature and remove any instance of it where you have previously signed (a list of page is available at the image description page).

Using images in your signature is heavily discouraged (and in this case illegal), and I strongly recommend that you don't use one. Reasons are explained at WP:SIG#Images_and_Appearance.--Commander Keane 00:43, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to MapleStory was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to recognize and repair vandalism to Wikipedia articles. Pi[edit]

I was wondering what you meant on the TfD for sumofpi when you questioned what pi is equal to. You asked "since when is pi≈3.1415926535897932384626," but this is an accurate approximation of pi. Timrem 04:14, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see it now. Just wanted to make sure you hadn't been led down the wrong path about pi :). Timrem 02:25, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am for Userboxes, preferably in their own space (such as something like Userbox:for_boxes), but if not I feel they can remain in template space. I disagree with subst-ing and deleting userboxes because this makes it harder to find new boxes. Timrem 01:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coming Clean[edit]

Fresil Yupigo, there is a message for you and all others who put up with my recient antics on my talk page. 216.164.203.90 20:42, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by admins or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you.

I'm referring to the "enemies" section, which was later changed to say "Users who appose usberboxen freedom". The phrase "I may consider making it a legal action form sometime in the future" is also disturbing, please see the no legal threats policy, and note that legal threats are likely to get you banned. I don't think that is a legal threat just yet, but I would encourage you to remove it anyway because others might not share the same interpretation. --bainer (talk) 11:53, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pointing out the users that delete userboxes often is not a personal attack.--GorillazFan Adam 01:46, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available[edit]

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CAUBXD[edit]

I feel pretty comfortable putting the note on the talk page of the article where the offending text actually is, and where you're linking to in every signature. If you don't agree with the statement, change it. If you don't change it, I assume you agree, and my objection may suitably be addressed to you as well.

I also note that you're advertising at the top of your talk page that you've got as crusade going against userbox deletion. That kind of us-vs-them rhetoric is unhelpful, and damages Wikipedia. I urge and entreat you to drop the language of war, and take up meaningful dialogue with others who want the best for Wikipedia. I assume you're here to write the best damn encyclopedia that's ever been - please believe that I'm here for the same reason, and let's talk. -GTBacchus(talk) 23:04, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature[edit]

Could you please change your signature to conform to the guidelines laid out at WP:SIG. It is simply way too long (in Wiki source). It's not necessary that each letter be a different color and the HTML commenting isn't necessary either. Thank you for understanding. --Cyde↔Weys 13:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As a side note - holy sh*t. He asked this time. Excellent work, Cyde, please keep it up. — Nathan (talk) 00:20, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I applaud you Cyde, good job (note: this isn't sarcasm, I really mean it). You learnt from past misunderstandings and not many users could do that. ILovePlankton ( L) 00:22, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO, as for Cyde's signature... though it is not explicitly forbidden in the WP:SIG, changing cursor shape on a signature is "giving undue prominence to a user's contribution" (as stated in the guidelines) and confusing for the reader who can wonder if this is a link or not. On/Offline Status[edit]

Feel free to copy the coding of my status from User:Kalathalan/Status and User:Kalathalan/StatusTemplate into your userspace, and then include /Status into your userpage/talkpage/userspace. It wasn't my idea; I got it from AmiDaniel, who got it from Misza13. Kalani [talk] 22:11, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what you mean by "configure", but I've basically set the two pages up for you at User:Fredil Yupigo/Status and User:Fredil Yupigo/StatusTemplate. Now you can add {{User:Fredil Yupigo/Status}} to any page you want the Status to appear on. To change your status, simply change the "on" in User:Fredil Yupigo/Status to "off" or "busy", accordingly. Kalani [talk] 22:44, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A short Esperanzial update[edit]

As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.

As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.

Substing templates[edit]

I normally use <includeonly>, just like you did, in where I need substing. Depending on the usage of the template (i.e. if you can subst it every time you use it), it works perfectly. fetofs Hello! 02:28, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

But you have to subst it. Try inputing subst: before your sig, or :subst:. One of them should work. fetofs Hello! 14:40, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's a manual thing really. You watch your user page, and increment it whether you revert or see someone reverting vandalism. BTW, I see you wanted your signature in a template so it can be transcluded with less characters. I suggest you give up, because that is not recommended at all (WP:SIG). You should cut out some links from your signature if you want to shorten it. fetofs Hello! 20:57, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! You were talking about how many vandalism you reverted? It's a function from the User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof software. You click on the "Vandalism Log" menu, click on "Update Log", and then update your Vandalism Stats (and your Vandalism Log, if you want). They'll go to User:Fredil Yupigo/VandalismStats and User:Fredil Yupigo/VandalismLog. fetofs Hello! 21:08, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know I removed the speedy delete tag off it, but it could still do with shortening, per WP:SIG. Petros471 11:06, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Preludes (Op. 28) article...[edit]

Hi there — you asked for feedback on your Chopin article on the WP:RFF page. I've had a quick look at your edit and, if you don't mind me saying so, it seems to me that it mostly reads as opinion rather than sourceable NPOV fact. What source would you cite for saying something sounds 'happy' or 'sad', for instance? Or 'hard to comprehend' or 'difficult to play'? Not that it's necessarily wrong — as it happens I agree with most of what you say — it's just not really factual. Sorry if this sounds harsh; I'm trying to be constructive! Anyway, I'm very new to all this, so I'm probably not the right person to be commenting; I'll leave it to more experienced editors to say what they think. Good luck! talkGiler S 23:26, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.[edit]

I came here to thank you for the comment about my header, but then I saw your status message, I hope you start feeling better soon, and I hope you don't leave. :(. ILovePlankton 02:32, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I read your userpage, I really hope that you don't leave like I almost did, after all if all the good people leave who will be left? ILovePlankton 02:38, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I usually disagree with Cyde on a very personal level, Just as I do with Tony Sidaway, but that reminds me that I wanted to try and talk to him to try and better understand his views so I could be more receptive of extreme views. ILovePlankton 02:49, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well goodnight, have a goodnight sleep... Wait you're only 12? Wow, I thought you were much older then that. ILovePlankton 03:07, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
nope, most of my oppose were because of this, they would have opposed me because of that if they knew my age. (I don't tell everybody.) ILovePlankton 15:10, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that was how everyone would take it but I was deftly wrong. ILovePlankton 15:06, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
So it would seem. But I plan never to be that wrong ever again, as it does nothing good for me. And by the way stop listening to the depressing music! :p I hope you start feeling better. ILovePlankton 15:39, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes someone did have a problem with that part, he said something about it could be taken as you are willing to be a meat puppet, I have no idea why he thought that. ILovePlankton 22:36, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hi Fred. Guess who I am?

You know this. I'm not Anant or Jon or Douglas (aka Doglag). It's quite obvious, really. If you can't tell by now (and I'm sure you can't), it's me, Vinnie. I AM WRITING THIS IN INDIA!!! P.S. Why is your user page so different now? P.P.S. If you are not actually Fred Yu, but rather someone else who happens to have a user page spelt almost exactly the same as his, please disregard this post P.P.P.S--Italic textRemember the V-brow, you'll be seeing it soon (assuming you're actually Fred Yu) 203.101.58.168 14:03, 19 July 2006 (UTC)Vinnie

Hey there, I'm sorry that you're under immense loads of stress and problematic things. Though I'm sure it won't do much, try and imagine yourself here, and maybe it will relax you a little. I hope things improve, -- Natalya 16:55, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
