Brookie here - I have changed the tag on this to an old rather than a self tag - as I am sure that you did not take the photgraph yourself. Brookie :) - a collector of little round things! (Talk!) 13:51, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop vandalising articles or you will be blocked from editing. Consider this your first warning. - Dudesleeper · Talk 12:58, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

- Dudesleeper, you've made two separate edits. First you restored a large block of commercials under the guise of "categories". Explain to me how "IT'S IT Ice Cream" has ANYTHING to do with the Cliff House. Or "Westfield San Francisco Centre". Or "San Francisco 49ers". These can serve no purpose other than commercialization of the article. Second, you removed links to CliffHouseProject.com. I added this a long time ago, before understanding that Wikipedia didn't allow me to post links to a site I maintain. So fine. I will not restore them. Assuming you really care about this article, I will let you be the one to add them back. It will help me better understand your motivations. And just to help you decide, I offer the following information: CliffHouseProject.com has many hundreds of rare images of the Cliff House, many in very high resolution. It's easily the single largest repository of Cliff House images anywhere. It contains no ads. The official Cliff House website links to it (www.cliffhouse.com/history/history.htm). The Nattional Park Service (current owners of the property) links to it. But you should look for yourself. Any editor of the Cliff House article needs to be familiar with the key references. I will refrain from further changes until I hear back from you. If I don't hear back, I will assume you no longer care and delete the advertisements. If you block me from editing, well, that's your choice. - gary

- In thinking about this further, neither you or I own the Cliff House article. These changes should properly be discussed on the Cliff House talk page by all involved, not in secret. I have added posts accordingly.

No idea what you're talking about. The categories don't mention IT'S IT Ice Cream — the template does, but that's included in all the articles listed in the template, and they aren't commercial links. The link to your site was, however. - Dudesleeper · Talk 16:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I thought you were the one who called it "categories". Regardless of what you call it, the section I deleted included all the irrelevant links I mentioned earlier. Are you proposing that the template needs to be cleaned up? And yes I realize that the ice cream link doesn't point to a site for purchasing ice cream, but you still haven't explained why this is important to the Cliff House. Yes I know the Whitney brothers sold ice cream, but that one serious stretch. On those grounds I could name LOTS of more relevant links. --Gary.stark@earthlink.net 17:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, the categories are below the template (see here; they cunningly have the word "Category" before the name of the category) You deleted them, probably accidentally, when you deleted the template. - Dudesleeper · Talk 18:06, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're right...I did delete them by mistake. Sorry about that. As you can see, further discussion is taking place on the Cliff House talk page. At this point I will focus the discussion there instead of here. Thanks. --Gary.stark@earthlink.net 18:57, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 17:44, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know...thanks! --Gary.stark@earthlink.net 17:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:P RATING.GIF)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:P RATING.GIF. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
