Dunottar School[edit]

Hi - I'm Girth Summit, an administrator here. For what it's worth, I'm also a teacher in the UK. Can I ask whether you have any connection with Dunottar School? I noticed that it's the only page you have ever edited, and that you recently added some material which was phrased in what I consider to be a very promotional manner. I'm assuming that you either work for the school, or are connected to it in some other manner, so please take a moment to read the guidance for editors with a conflict of interest, ensure that you make the necessary disclosures, and consider using edit requests in future. Thank you Girth Summit (blether) 09:29, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, I do have a connection to the school. As the edits were not controversial, but simply updating the recent developments to the school, I thought they would be acceptable. As the content has now been blocked, please can you advise on the best way to enter this additional information. Many thanks. Glwiles1977 (talk) 10:02, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure that it would be beneficial to the article to include it. Remember that our purpose isn't to promote the school, just to summarise what sources say about it - ideally, independent secondary sources, rather than the school's own website. Everything should be written neutrally and factually - there is never any place for language such as 'an exciting partnership'. Read the links I gave you to the COI guidance, and to the instructions on making an edit request, then let me know if anything is unclear. Girth Summit (blether) 10:13, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
