That said, all your contributions seem to involve uncited assertions that this or that concert hall or similar building uses a Meyer Sound system of some sort. The information regarding Meyer Sound is accurate; I work for them, we are adding short blurbs on venues that have installed Meyer Sound products (one short line: Blank features a blank Meyer Sound system for sound reinforcement.). Is this ok to be doing? Do I need to be doing anything else (trying to follow wiki policies). Let me know, thanks!

Nancy

March 2010[edit]

I have asked for verification (see WP:VERIFY) with a reliable source (see WP:RS) for your addition of the sound material to the article Summer stock theatre, section on "Circus tent theatre". You might want to read WP:PROVEIT for additional guidelines on sourcing, verification, and addition of material. I will let others address the conflicts of interest, I do not know enough to address it. Thank you. JeanColumbia (talk) 17:19, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please see my comments on Talk:Royal Festival Hall regarding the Meyer Sound insertion. Viva-Verdi (talk) 17:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nancy: Before sending my note above, I just saw your commnents. If you read my note on the RFH article, you'll basically see that all I'm asking is that you provide a reference to anything you include to justify it not simply being some commercial spam or advertising tactic. Your company's website seems to have tons of info.

But also, please be careful when you edit text and don't trucate a sentance, thus making it meaningless, by removing only one part of it.

PS: If you wish to make a comment, it is best left on the "Talk" or "Discussion" page of the article. Viva-Verdi (talk) 17:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am having a hard time understanding what you would like from me in regards to the additions of Meyer Sound installations (this is not my specialty). Basically what I have been told is that Meyer would just like people to know that their products were used in whatever venue. Not an advertisement but a one sentence thing saying Meyer is used for sound reinforcement in so and so. Are you asking for me to provide a link to their specific page regarding that or is this just entirely illegal and considered "advertisement". Meyer Sound doesn't want to disobey Wiki rules so any information would be helpful. An example (incline citation?) would be helpful (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mondavi_Center#Architecture_and_design I have tried an inline citation please let me know if this is correct)I will remove all other information I have added on wiki venues until I know exactly what I should be adding to a page. Sorry for an misunderstandings!

PS I would have posted this on RFH page but this is in reference to all things I have added

I must also be more careful when editing not to delete any previous added information!!! Sorry for messing up that information! Goldie.N.Locks (talk)13:00, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, yes it is getting rather clsoe tosimple advertising. Most people won't particularly care what system is used in which hall, and unless there was for some reason particular coverage of why sound reinforcement was added to a hall and why Meyer Sound was chosen in particular, it's not a particularly important feature of the hall itself. Remember that this is an encyclopaedia. If you were reading a print encyclopaedia, is it really information you would expect to see mentioned? It's fair enough to list some of the major halls where the equipment is used in the article on Meyer Sound itself, but we don't need links back to the Meyer Sound article from every hall which uses the equipment.
