Speedy deletions

Hi Gpeja,

Afds typically are closed within 7-10 days as long as there are at least 3 policy-based votes. Afd is a bit slower than speedy, but gets the same results for articles without references. When you tag something for speedy deletion, you should add one of the number and letter codes which specify the speedy criteria you're using. The closest one to your argument for CHIC (electronics) would be A7 -No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events), but this can only be used for those categories, and cannot be applied to software articles. If you have any questions, let me know. Dialectric (talk) 17:42, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks and request

Thanks for helping so much in straightening out Conduit (company).

For the companion article on the old website toolbar business, I was finally able to find sources requested by User: Graeme Bartlett when he split the article and suggested it be renamed to reflect what the product is called by its new owner, Perion Network. The new product is called Perion CodeFuel. I've added a brief paragraph about it, too, as it's evolved. I've done a redraft here: User:BC1278/Perion CodeFuel

I have no COI with Perion, but I do with Conduit, so it's not appropriate for me to directly edit this article either. I notified User: Graeme Bartlett on their Talk page that I found the source supporting the update. But previously, that editor was not very interested in reviewing content related to these articles, even though they decided to split it into two articles - that was never my suggestion. I'm not hopeful, then, that User: Graeme Bartlett will get involved again. The editor seems interested in Wikipedia policy and administrative issues rather than substantive editing of other people's articles.

The article still is filled with problematic sourcing, such as online forums and instruction manuals, which I explain in depth on the Talk page of Conduit (publisher network and platform).

At this point, getting yet another editor up to speed would seem a pretty inefficient, so if you do possibly have time to look at User:BC1278/Perion CodeFuel, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks,BC1278 (talk) 16:55, 24 September 2015 (UTC)BC1278

I saw your note on User:BC1278/Perion CodeFuel You're right, Perion Network is not a great article. If you want to keep Conduit (publisher network and platform) under the same title, that's one possibility. There are pros and cons to either approaches. Regardless, there are many issues in the article, no matter the title (from incorrect use of the present tense to very unreliable sourcing). My draft addresses these issues. So no matter the title, these should be looked at, I hope. BC1278 (talk) 21:50, 28 September 2015 (UTC)BC1278
Gpeja Thanks for your work on CodeFuel. It turned out well, I think. One other related article request. You've done a lot here already and I understand if you're interested. When these articles on Conduit were generating a lot of discussion, an editor proposed the article about the CEO Ronen Shilo for deletion based on lack of sources and material. So I did a redraft here: User:BC1278/sandbox An admin in the discussion noted that the redraft was much better, but didn't do the update, which I can't do because of COI. The article was not deleted after discussion, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Ronen_Shilo, but the draft remains unused, which is a waste. It's still quite short, just with more sources and facts, as was requested. I don't want to waste the new work just because the original article wasn't deleted. If you have a chance to edit the redraft and bring it live, since you already know the story, that would be much appreciated. If not, I understand and appreciate your work on everything else.BC1278 (talk) 15:28, 2 October 2015 (UTC)BC1278

Establishments by place

Your comments on the RfC on whether bridges can be considered establishments ignore the fact that for categories like category:1913 establishments in Oregon the category is really being used as Category:1913 establishments and completions of buildings and structures in Oregon but that is just too long a category name, so the shorter name was chosen but still with the broader meaning intended.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:01, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Can you review a proposed change?

Hi,

Would you mind doing an independent review of a proposed change to the article Ale Resnik which I can't make myself because of a WP: COI? It's regarding an award/article and requires judgment as to editorial worthiness of a source.

It's the last current entry on Talk:Ale Resnik located here: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Ale_Resnik&action=edit&section=3

Of course, as always, I understand if it's not of interest.BC1278 (talk) 17:33, 24 October 2015 (UTC)BC1278

Deletion proposal on CodeFuel

Someone put a PROD banner on CodeFuel It's meant for non-controversial proposals for deletion and can be removed by anyone, without discussion. The notability objection in this case seems silly -- the historical aspect of the article alone, with five years of sourcing, justifies it. You might want to bring up to the lead the reference to the CodeFuel product being the renamed and evolved Conduit Connect toolbar business, acquired from Conduit. The platform's historical importance -- it was larger than Twitter just a few years ago and also, controversial - is the main reason it merits an entry. Not the current product. That's my suggestion as a compromise to meet the editor's notability objection.BC1278 (talk) 19:10, 24 October 2015 (UTC)BC1278

Codefuel comment

I have been asked to suggest some changes to the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CodeFuel and so far there has been no reply. My comment was as follows -

A suggestion. That you move the "Toolbar" subject from the Technology section to History section because it's not a part of the current technology of CodeFuel. It could be placed above the line - "This toolbar is a history behind a current suite of browsing and security applications." Another addition to this section could be - "In August 2014, the company signed a three-year agreement with Bing, Microsoft’s web search engine, extending its existing partnership. The new agreement runs from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2017. In July 2015 the name was changed from Perion Codefuel to Codefuel." References for this are "http://www.timesofisrael.com/perion-extends-microsoft-deal-ups-mobile-business/" and "http://mobilemarketingmagazine.com/perion-extends-app-partnership-with-bing/" Nmwalsh (talk) 09:46, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
