Die Antwoord[edit]

Hi, Griffin. Please stop adding unreferenced, copy/pasted material to the article. Material on Wikipedia isn't meant to be copy/pasted due to copyright issues, and is supposed to be referenced. I'll add a note below this explaining what I mean by referenced, as well as some other useful info for you. Happy editing! Kaini (talk) 09:47, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Griffin watkykjy. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest, or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.--John (talk) 09:58, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It is not subjective information. These are facts that they have asked me to add to Wiki.

griffin, you would need to provide references for a lot of it, for example info regarding an upcoming album. and some of the info is already there, such as the stuff regarding the harmony korine short. and to be honest, it reads in an excessively promotional manner. i may have been wrong about the copy/paste from dieantwoordzeflings, and if so, i apologise for that. but there are many problems with both the style and the content of the information you've added. it isn't encyclopaedic. Kaini (talk) 10:04, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK, the new information is now on http://www.watkykjy.co.za/die-antwoord/ if a Wiki user wishes whishes to add info from there. The intent was not to make it sound promotional. As far as references go, I can only say what I know and was told by Die Antwoord themselves, I cant reference something that someone said, so perhaps that info can be added later, once the album is released in Ocotber. The idea was just to add more information. A lot of the facts in this Wiki document is also wrong, for instance Ninja's real name, which is plain Waddy Jones and not Watkin Tudor Jones.

i'd be more than happy to help out later today. watkykjy is more or less official and sanctioned by the band, so i can use some of that as reference material. and we don't have 'plugs up our butts' as you put it over there, it's just wiki policy. it's there for a reason. anyway, i'll have a look at it later. Thanks. If I knew more on adding / editing pages the proper way on Wiki and had the time I would have done it myself. Appreciated.

PS: I have added a lot of links on the http://www.watkykjy.co.za/die-antwoord/ link which can be used as references.
