I didn't see the whole you could delete the template, and I also thought that there was a ongoing AfD discussion because of the template being on the article. Thanks for clearing it up for me. Supercell121 (talk) 15:10, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

About the PRODs

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that I have contested your PRODs on Aadhiya system and Chukri System. I think they might be salvageable articles, unlike the other PRODs you added, and I will try to expand them later this week with more refs and content. At least the Chukri system has strong notability as an unique Indian mix of debt bondage, slavery and prostitution. Ceosad (talk) 12:43, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Mouche Phillips.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Mouche Phillips.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:17, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Mouche Phillips.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Mouche Phillips.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:53, 25 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi, this edit introduces a chunk of whitespace to this section. What is it supposed to do? Please take a look. Thanks.--Cpt.a.haddock (talk) (please ping when replying) 14:01, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

On my browser (IE 11+), the bullet list was being covered partially with the image on the left. I added some whitespace so that the list would not be obscured by the image, but would be pushed down a bit. If you believe that this edit was unnecessary or made in error, please feel free to revert. Thanks for your comments. H.dryad (talk) 14:16, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
I've removed the break tags. Now that you've moved the image further up, it shouldn't obscure the list in your browser any more. Thanks :)--Cpt.a.haddock (talk) (please ping when replying) 14:21, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Quick question

Hey! You said I could ask you any questions on your talk page, so here's one. Just out of interest, why does the 'edit' button change to 'edit source' when you create an account? Any particular reason? Doctorwhofan1001 (talk) 19:06, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

The "Edit" and "Edit Source" buttons should both be available after you create an account. I believe you can change whether you see them both in your "Preferences" under the "Editing" tab. Make sure the "Temporarily disable the visual editor while it is in beta" is not unchecked if you with to use the Visual Editor. Please let me know if this did not answer your question appropriately.

Rail subsidies

Hi, you have marked Rail subsidies for speedy deletion as you think it is promotional, can you clarify what you mean? I created as a kind of double redirect page, so that people searching for information on rail subsidies could be directed to the relevant place. Do you have any suggestions as to how this might be done better? Absolutelypuremilk (talk) 22:00, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

By promotional, I meant that it seemed to be promoting a product or a business without giving proper explanation of why the topic was important or providing adequate references. Since these were absent, I had assumed that this was not a legitimate topic . . . we do get lots of spam and pages of questionable value created here and I patrol new changes sometimes. I am sorry if I marked your page as spam prematurely. What you could do next time is to create the page in your own userspace or sandbox and then hone it there and when you believe that it is ready for Mainspace, just copy and paste it there. This may cause an editor to think twice before deleting a new page. Also, if you disagree with a speedy deletion or prod tag, they can be removed (not AfDs by the way, which need to be subject to consensus). If you wish to recreate the page as a redirect, you may do so. You can use the inprogress tag to indicate also that you may be working on the page and that not has not reached a mature state. Again, my apologies if I tagged your work for removal when I should not have. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 23:59, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Control Rod article is most written by myself with new things not used already so far I know published also over emails longer time ago

Most entries are just hidden comments what was by myself and what is likely with originator rights outside like new materials. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.221.212.164 (talk) 17:45, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Mostly what I saw were comments like this: Entry by kayuweboehm(at)yahoo.de -- instead of leaving those comments, if you could add references as to where you got the information, it would likely not be reverted again. Please let me know if you need help in adding a reference. I would be glad to assist in any way that I can. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 17:52, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
That was what I just said you but some improvements added. Just the text styling was changed but content was all by myself written with different IPs longer rtime ago but it was not accepted to write my name visible inside the article for all that. kayuweboehm@yahoo.de
If you feel that strongly about it, feel free to undo my changes to the last version that you wrote. Do you know how to do this? Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 18:03, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Could you explain yourself a bit more clearly? Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 18:26, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
I see you're a new editor so no problem. The new article queue has a long tail on it, so most editors patrolling it work at least 10 to 15 minutes into the tail, so as not to waste time interrupting articles as they are being written. Also we don't tag for speedy deletion a stub with a "expand French" "expand German" tag on it, at least not without looking at the the source language article. This way you can save time in not challenging encyclopedic subjects. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:29, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Lil Wettergren

Hello,

I don't understand why you want to delete this page.

Just have a look at the Swedish page (https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lil_Karhola_Wettergren) and you will understand that she is an important Swedish person, mainly because het feminist work which resulted in the breach of the man-dominated business world. She succeeded in becoming the first female member of the Board of Directors of big Swedish companies.

She was also important in the creation of the paper diaper. --Alexandersam (talk) 16:03, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

There were no references listed to back up the claims that you were making or that asserted the importance of the person in question. Use the inuse tag to slow down any new pages patrollers who might tag it as a speedy deletion candidate if you are currently working on the article. by the way if you created the article, you are not supposed to remove the speedy deletion notice yourself. Just clock on the button and explain your objections. As it is, I think we can leave it off, but try to add any references you have as soon as possible. Sorry for the confusion or hurt feelings. My grandfather was born in the 1800's. He was a painter of hundreds of oil paintings - he did not sell them. He died in 1956. My mother who is 88 has kept them in mint condition since his death. He now has great great great grandchildren who will inherit these incredible masterpieces and I would like him listed in Wiki so they can read about him when they are older. I have photos of him paining i uploaded in the commons area. I am new to all this and any assist you can be would be great. He is a treasure in Hungary and the US. His paintings will be priceless at some point in time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cynthiacrespo (talkcontribs) 19:39, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

You may want to try creating an article in your userspace or sandbox and work on it there, and when you have it honed to a reasonable degree of completion, it may not be deleted so quickly next time. To meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, you need to make sure that it meets the minimum criteria. Also, try to gather as many sources as you can and if you need, I will help you format them. I am sorry that I was not in time to save your article, but if you can find some reliable sources and meet the notability guidelines, we may be able to help you. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 19:50, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
I don't know if I am even writing in the correct spot Mr. Dryad. My Grandfather lived in Egypt until 1950's. He moved from Hungary in 1930's. He raised my mom and her sisters in Egypt until moving to US. He was an artist in Hungary and Egypt with 100's of incredible oil paintings. He never sold them or sought any acclaim. ONly now that my mom is 88 and has turned all the art over to me for safe keeping did i want to put his name and bio in Wiki. She has stored his art for over 60 years since his death. The are in mint condition and will be passed on to to a fifth generation of children and will be donated at some point to museums. I have posted a few pics of him whilst painting in the Commons area ( i dont even know what that is but it let me put pics there). Thak you for your kind consideration.
Oh my. You deleted it . Took so long for me to figure out how to even create the page. Please help me put it back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cynthiacrespo (talkcontribs) 19:55, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
Hello. I did not delete it. I am not an administrator. Click on this link: sandbox - create your page in your own userspace. I will try to help you find some sources. The article still may not meet the notability guidelines, but if not, we can possibly find a way to commemorate your grandfather. If no one knows about him, he will likely get a page in mainspace deleted again. But you can work on it in your sandbox until we can figure out what else to do. Speedy Removal of Terry Stephenson

Hi H.dryad,

What would you remove to make it less promotional in your opinion. I do not want to see this page deleted nor do I believe it to be promotional. Terry Stephenson is a rather influential individual in the Business Community in Edmonton. Suggestions? Dwinters12345 (talk) 21:19, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Right now, it kind of sounds like a resume. Try editing for tone and stating why the person is important. He heads a company, but has he done anything notable other than that? Check [{WP:Notability]] to make sure he meets the guidelines. You can use the inuse tag to slow down any potential deleters whilst you work on it. Let me know if you need any more help with it. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 21:22, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello H.dryad. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of /Variations in CA for Necessary Conditions, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: WP:CSD#A1 is only for "very short" articles. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 21:37, 3 February 2016 (UTC)

There was no lead section to say what the article was actually about. You can remove the speedy if you think it is mistaken, but I would suggest adding some context to determine what the article is actually about. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 21:38, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
Certainly it needs context and a better title, and I am minded to move it to draft, but it is not an A1 candidate - nor is /Sobolev-RKHS-CA. JohnCD (talk)

Why did you revert to the nonsensical edit of Ben (film)?

The information that I and others have tried to remove by reverting recent edits to Ben (film) is all nonsense. Ben was not depicted in the film as a "rat-humanoid creature that infiltrates the brain through a mind device, and haunts people in their sleep", and there was never a further sequel called "Ben Again" depicting Ben as a human basketball player. Please stop restoring this false information to the article. - Pennyforth (talk) 14:52, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

If I reverted an article to a nonsensical version then it was by error. Please undo my revision if it caused any unintentional disruption. My apologies if I made an error. It looked to me that merely a substantial area of text had been removed. Best wishes. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 14:53, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

Too speedy

Re this edit: please don't be so quick on the speedy deletion button. Clearly this was someone's first attempt at creating an article, and you tagged it within one minute of its creation. A good rule of thumb is that, for anything other than an attack page, blatant copyright violations or blatant spam, it's best to wait at least 15 minutes to see if the author is going to fix their initial effort. This is especially true for no-content deletions; new editors often create the empty page as a "placeholder", thinking this is somehow necessary. The rapid speedy deletion warning can be very bitey and sour them quickly on the Wikipedia editing experience. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:01, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Sorry if I was a bit too fast on the tagging. I will try to wait a day or two and check back next time. Thanks for the advice. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 14:25, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

speedy deletion

Hi H.dryad. as the creator of the page "Arieh Miller" which you have tagged for speedy deletion, I wanted to query the reasoning behind it. Could you give me some example of what further information is required and how to source that information. your help is much appreciated — Preceding unsigned comment added by JakobKahan (talkcontribs) 14:06, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello. When I checked the page, it was written slightly like a resume or an advertisement. That needs to be taken care of or else it may attract an administrator who may find that it does not meet inclusion standards. try to get some objective sources (LinkedIn is not considered a valid source, by the way) and make sure that the young man's significance and notability are stated as those are areas that can get new pages deleted quickly. If you are working on the page please use the
{{inuse}}

Nothing there

If an article is blank, please look into the history. It could be that a vandal has blanked it, in which case you can revert. It could be just a blank page - people do that sometimes (in which case give them an hour to get going. In the case of Albanias Golgotha 1912, it was an author's blanking which is not the same as 'no content'. It needs to be tagged G7 One author who has requested deletion or blanked the page. It gives a different feel to the deletion history, being G7. 'No content' page creation is a nuisance, but G7 shows some responsibility for deciding that something didn't meet standards. It's the reason for there being no content that's important, and that's why we have the two criteria as separate things. Peridon (talk) 20:32, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I hadn't looked at the history. I will remember to check in the future. Thanks for the advice. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs · email) 20:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

At first there was nothing but a table with no context. Now there seems to be a copyright violation from blackburnreview.com/recon-saint-louis-5 - you need to fix this soon otherwise it is likely that the entry will be deleted. Hama Dryad (talk · contribs) 15:28, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

No worries. I have pretty bad eyes and it helps me to see things this way. By the way, you can speedy the Bluebonnet Swamp article if you want to. I won't be offended. I was just confused as to where to go with it, as the AfC people would not delete it and did not think is suitable for inclusion as it was. I was seeking aid from other potential editors, but they had kind of left me hanging there. I will accept whatever verdict everybody agrees on as long as there IS a verdict. Cheers. Speedy deletion nomination of BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

Hello H.dryad,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center for deletion in response to your request.

If you didn't intend to make such a request and don't want the article to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. R. A. Simmons Talk 15:48, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

I think it's almost ready for featured portal nomination. I do notice two issues. One, the selected article's main title should be linked & bolded rather than just bolded. Second, some selected pictures did not attribute the correct uploader (it attributed the person who transferred to Commons, but not the original uploader as seen in the description box). See Portal:Wetlands/Selected picture/19 as an example. You attributed it to User:Zuccherinodolce~commonswiki who merely transferred the file. The original uploader, as seen in description box, is User:Taguelmoust. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:35, 6 March 2016 (UTC)\

OK, thank you. I have tried to fix these issues. Please let me know if you find any more of them. H.dryad (talk) 16:20, 7 March 2016 (UTC)

Vandalism warnings

Hey, just a minor heads-up: When warning vandals, don't forget check to see what warnings the vandal has already received, so that you can escalate warning level as appropriate. You gave a level 1 warning following my level 3 warning to 198.209.13.246. Anyway, just a tiny little thing, easy to forget -- keep up the awesome vandalism fighting! Rollback granted

Hi H.dryad/Archives/1. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Coffee // have a cup // beans // 20:47, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Regarding the above, 1st thanks for creating the article. 2nd, it is unclear to me how the "Associated Publications" are directly related to the topic. If they can be used as references, they should be used as such with inline citations. If not, I think they confuse the issue and should be removed. Just my 2 cents. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 17:20, 16 March 2016 (UTC)

March 2016

Information icon Hello H.dryad. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3), or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Rupayan Dey. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. - MrX 20:14, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Many thanks for the correction. I have made the mistake of tagging too fast in the past and am trying to be a bit more careful in this regard. I did check and find that the page was most likely autobiographical (his username seemed quote similar to the article he was trying to create. I do thank you for the correction, however. Am open for adoption by the way. ;) Cheers. H.dryad (talk) 20:16, 17 March 2016 (UTC)

Autolisp

I appreciate you adding the timeline of lisp table to the AutoLISP article, but I'm not sure it looks very good buried at the bottom. I was thinking that it works better in the history section. I'm moving it there for now, if you have any questions or comments, just let me know. Thanks! MjolnirPants Tell me all about it. 16:24, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Might be a good idea. I noticed that someone had created the timeline but only a few articles had been using it so I was placing them on the articles and adding a few more LISPs to the timeline as well. Thanks for the input! H.dryad (talk) 17:02, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

List of Lisp-family programming languages

What is a language and what is an implementation? What is both. You want to name the page accordingly and specify for each entry what it is.

You would need to make clear what languages are listed here. If you list Clojure, then you would need to list Dylan, Logo, R, Javascript as well.

It lacks hundreds of Lisps: RLISP, UCI Lisp, Dylan, R, Javascript, Logo, MDL, TinyScheme, Lisp500, XLisp, XScheme, XLisp-Plus, Standard Lisp, Portable Standard Lisp, Lisp 390, Newlisp, Cambridge Lisp, Lisp 2, LFE, ... Joswig (talk) 21:34, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

On my David Hilberman entry: I used outside cited sources, in general from folks considered expert in the field of animation, for most opinions expressed. Nevertheless, in dealing with a career substantially effected by the aftermath of the Disney Animators strike of 1941, the second Red Scare, the Hollywood Blacklist and McCarthyism it is difficult to avoid obvious political components of the story. The prior version of his life was way too short and had some gross inaccuracies, such as listing his education as the Leningrad Art Academy. If you have some specific suggestions on how to deal with the productivity of his career as well as the negative impacts of politics on that career, that would be appreciated. My choice was to use sources, quotes, links and try to minimize my own commentary -- I think that was successful on the most important political issues discussed. MarkHilberman (talk) 21:05, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

I shall pause and await your input--given the beating his life and career took, it was hard not to praise while trying to be fair. I may have strayed most at the end on the family, but look forward to your comments. ThanksMarkHilberman (talk) 13:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC)

The references 4,5,6,7 are not relevant to SOAU and readers. It has nothing to do with the accreditation agency. So "The university also claims certification by the International Accreditation Organization,[4] a website which The New York Times and other sources have reported as a distributor of illegitimate degrees.[5][6][7]' and the references 4-7 need to be deleted. It is not good for wikipedia to show something irrelevant and ridiculous. Readers will get annoyed! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.88.12.235 (talk) 15:02, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

I disagree. The information specifically refers to accreditation and it is well sourced. Why do you believe that these references need to be removed? The page is protected to stop people from randomly removing material and references. If you disagree, explain your reasoning on the talk page. Otherwise your changes will continue to be reverted. H.dryad (talk) 15:19, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
Can you find the name of SOAU in the IAO wikipedia link?. Check and let me know. So showing this in SOAU wikipedia page is irrelevant!. SOAU has not taken any accreditation from such face websites. So these unsubstantiated references needs to be deleted! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.88.12.235 (talk) 15:27, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
The article says that over 370 organizations were involved. It would not be practical to list them all in an article, although an attempt was made to list most of them. It says in the article that the list is incomplete. I might add that Axact is listed as one of Siksha O Anusandhan University brands on their web site. H.dryad (talk) 16:35, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

These are now found on YouTube according to what was listed following James Garner's death in 2014. If that is that big of an issue, then we would be better off deleting this. Chris (talk) 16:35, 16 April 2016 (UTC)

Not sure if it is an issue or not, it does look like it was taken partially from another website. Do you know if the material was public domained after his death? H.dryad (talk) 19:41, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
I am not certain about the file being in public domain after Garner's death in 2014 or show producer Steven J. Cannells death in 2010. I think we would be better off letting this be deleted and have another user do this since I have been more or less retired since 2011. Another advice on your archive is to have some access to edits on sections. It would be easier to do instead of having to edit the article as a whole. Chris (talk) 23:23, 18 April 2016 (UTC)
